The Danville Police Department reports that at about 2 a.m. Sunday, an early 2000s silver Ford Mustang and a dark-colored Dodge Charger were performing what's known as "burnouts" in the parking lot at Angler’s Park.

The Dodge Charger hit a fence, police report, causing damage to the front part of it. It also took down a part of the fence along a field

  • I’m not surprised. The River District sounds like a race track most nights. I don’t think Danville PD does much enforcement of traffic laws in the city.

Nope, not on that kind of stuff. Nor do they do anything about people treating residential areas like drag strip, despite the fact I have complained, repeatedly. Their solution was to put that dang speed sign over here, like those fools driving 60 mph up the street are going to pay any attention to that.

But - I have noticed they like to pull people over on Main Street. They love to sit there in front of the First Baptist Church, where all the rich houses are. I'm sure those people get whatever they want. They are pulling people over who are going 5 mph over the limit through that stretch. I see it every day as I go through there. They are also sitting along Central Blvd. between the ramps to Memorial Drive and the ramps to Riverside. I've seen motorcycle cops (who weigh dang near 300 LBS, but that's another issue) out there with speed guns. The other night as regular cop SUV was sitting on the side of the road looking for speeders.

  • Again?? lol. I used to work for parks and rec and I remember when someone did this after the lot was just redone and caused like felony-level costs in damages

  • I’ve had multiple times during the day people try to burnout at Anglers while I run.

Just smelling tires and exhaust while trying to get some fresh air and exercise.

I mean, depending on which way the wind is blowing exhaust and tires might be better than that water treatment plant smell...

It do be hitting if you go towards Dan Daniel.
