One of the more frustrating comment chains I ever had on this site was arguing with some smug liberal about whether or not their position of "Trans kids who got kicked out for being trans don't deserve to be homeless because they're trans; they deserve to be homeless because they're poor because they're trans!" was a more transphobic than my position of "Everyone deserves housing." Apparently I'm the jerk for saying that everyone deserves housing, not just "the good ones" or however one wants to put that.
Personally I don't think laundering bigotry through classism makes it any better, but that doesn't stop people from trying.
