Hey yall! As the title says, I’m coming to a game of Stars v Blues on the 23rd. If I wear a Blues jersey and cheer for them is anyone gonna be super negative about it? Ofc I expect some chirping but is it gonna be more than that? What’s the culture like in the stadium when it comes to cheering for other teams? Thanks! ☺️

  • As someone who went to a Stars Blues game 7 in St Louis as the only Stars fan in the building (that I could see at least), a stars game is a much more chill sports environment.

Dallas sports teams in general are similar to LA teams if you want a comparison. We’re not particularly aggressive, have a mostly corporate atmosphere and are generally nice fans. The Stars are more of a niche team that than the other sports but those trends are basically the same.

As someone who grew up in Dallas and lived in St Louis for a few years, the blue collar, rowdy, aggressive Midwest fan base was totally new to me and not something I was used to. If you’re worried about something like that in Dallas we don’t have that here.

Well I wouldn't exactly call Dodger fans chill

  • If someone is being a prick, just tell the AAC and they’ll take care of it for you. If someone is being a prick, it isn’t normal and shouldn’t be accepted

  • Just all the normal chirps. Might get a drunk asshole but you’re good to rep your team here

  • Stars fans are awesome! You're gonna have a great time.

  • you are totally fine

people can be dickheads anywhere but you're 99% fine

anytime ive seen harassment at a game it wasnt related to opposing fans

  • Im a stars fan but ive had people of other teams next to me before normally I never seen harassment or anything bad before then again im a stars fan so idk

  • No, it won't be any different than probably the chirps a Stars fan would get in STL.

My brother and I got jumped after a Stars @ Blues pre-season game in 2019. Maybe the Cup win brought out the bandwagon fans or overly emboldened them. Walking around Enterprise was mostly older guys doing a little bit of ribbing, but our seats were in the nosebleeds next to a group of drunk early 20s guys who were upset we cheered for goals in a pre-season game and screamed at us all night.

  • I wouldn’t think you’d catch hell, unless you are trying to mess with people.

  • No one will care! Only place I’ve been that seemed to was in NYC, and even then, most fans pay to be there to watch the game

  • As long as you're chill (which i assume you would be) there isnt anything to worry about. Ive gone to 75 games over the last 12 seasons and honestly outside of a few isolated instances (mostly in the playoffs) i dont generally notice out of town fans unless the are sitting in my immediate vicinity.

  • Nah. Worst case someone might chirp but it's for fun. Lot's of friendly people. I have a few seats close to me that tend to have other teams and have met some cool people. Wear your stuff cheer and have fun.

  • Wear a Suter Blues jersey…

  • I think DFW as a whole treats visiting fans pretty well. We're certainly not like Philadelphia where Eagles fans find Cowboys fans and try to ruin their life.

They're cowboys fans, what's even left to ruin?

  • Maybe don’t do that annoying thing where you disrespect the “brave” and say “blues”. Just join in on the stars chant instead. It’s less disrespectful, other than that, you’re golden. Have a good time

Wait, is it disrespectful for other teams' fans to do their anthem stuff in our house? I wouldn't find it to be. And I shouted "STARS!" at the requisite moments in Raleigh last week with no ill consequences.

Or is it just that "Blues" and "brave" are so far apart that it's just lame? I can get on that wagon.

I really don’t care. I just think that taking out the “brave” that talks about our fighting soldiers and veterans, to replace it with “blues” is dumb

  • I’ve heard multiple times that dallas treats away fans really well. I used to go to games a lot and saw firsthand but that was like 20 years ago

  • The only place I’ve ever been that treated away fans poorly was in Philadelphia. But then they are jerks to their own fans too so 🤷‍♂️

  • Come on down. Might be a little humorous jabbing, but probably not. STARS games are most welcoming to all.

  • No! My sister and her fam are big blues fans living in STL. They have been with us to some games and had such a great time

  • I'm personally gonna dump my beer on you, nah it's relatively tame here. You'll get a couple jokes maybe and a smile

  • My husband is a blues fan and has worn a blues jersey many times at the AAC. We’ve never encountered any issues.

  • As long as you aren’t the ugly visiting fan, no one cares. I personally think it’s funny when Blues fans do the power play dance. We recently had a Toronto fan behind us that was an absolutely horrible jerk. He was trying to get reactions. & not positive ones. We had super nice St Louis fans in front of us a couple years ago who helped us a ton because we were getting ready to go there for a game.

  • Worst visiting fans I ever saw were blues fans in Chicago years ago. I’m guessing you weren’t one of them so you should be fine.

  • As a Stars fan that lives in Missouri and goes to the Blues/Stars games. I've been treated very well by Blues fans. With that said, Stars fans will treat you well and you'll want to go back for more. Enjoy the game at the AAC, it's an amazing place!

  • One of the traditions at Stars games is after an opposing team goal is announced over the PA, Stars fans yell “WHO CARES”. Occasionally I’ll hear an opposing team’s fan yell “I CARE” and the response is almost always laughs, so you shouldn’t have any problems rocking a Blues jersey and cheering for them.

  • I’ve only ever gone as a Stars fan but I’ve read posts from many out of town fans supporting the visiting team at AAC that it was a totally pleasant time.

Also, I’ve see tons of people with visiting team jerseys there and everyone minds their own business and I’ve never personally seen people have a problem fwiw

  • The only times I’ve seen fans of the other team have issues beyond the mild playful heckling, is when the other team fans overtly go out of their way to be obnoxious—that’s never going to end well for a visitor.

It’s also good that your with the old rivalry—in modern days, Avs fans have been the absolute worst people in the arena.

  • Wear blue, be loud, have fun!
