Think they are now 11-3 hell 2 of their OT losses were the first two games of the year when they weren't playing well. Sense then they have yet to lose in 3 on 3 as only other loss they have suffered after regulation was a SO loss to Detroit.

I actually really want Gully to try splitting up Miro and Lindell, not because they aren't working together, but because I think giving Harley a main stay defensive beast and Bichsel when he comes back an experienced top end defenseman would benefit both of them. Miro/Harley was one of the best defensive pairings in the league over the past 2 years ago. Hell even Miro Bichsel and just letting Miro pick up the slack from some of the slow mental plays Bichsel still makes I think might lower our top end but it will hopefully bring up our floor. Right now the problem is when we start making lapses they compound really fast into a goal against.

Did they extend him before or after Granlund was traded to the Stars. As a Sharks fan who has always liked the Stars since Pavs joined would have felt giving him that money would have been the better option especially since at least last year he was someone who produced in big spots like the 4 nations and playoffs.
He has 3G and 6A in 20 games since coming back from injury. He’s a complete non-factor in almost every game at a time where his production has been needed since the Seguin injury. He’s is absolutely killing the team.
The contract is fine, honestly for the Duchene we had the past 2 seasons it is an outright phenomenal contract. Right now though Duchene doesnt have a line of his own and has been just kinda getting thrown around at random as the only guy changing lines. Gully has stapled Roope/Robo and Wyatt/Moose together and the pairings arent working and then you have Duchene trying to center a bottom 6 line and not succeeding.
I’m trying to remind myself that so much of this team’s issues lately have just straight up been mental lapses that are easily fixable if they’d just lock in and focus, whether it be defensive positioning, stick infractions, etc, but man it’s hard when the product on the ice is so frustrating to watch for way too much of these games right now.

What the fuck happened to this team in the last few weeks? I mean you get back a couple of key guys who have missed serious time with injuries and everything goes to shit. It’s not just a tough stretch with unfortunate outcomes either. I understand they’re still earning points, but Jesus Christ it’s really difficult to even watch the games and how every single night they find a new way to self destruct. It’s impressive really.
The power play has come way back down to earth, the penalty kill was horrible to start the season then it was wildly reliable for a good bit and now it is comically bad again. Our goalie tandem is getting lit up in the worst ways and the team out in front is standing around for it to happen time and time again. The discipline is so awful. Stop taking penalties, especially if you suck at killing them. It’s always an untimely one too. I’ve seen so many instances where the Stars are on the power play and in the first 10-20 seconds they kill it off themselves for a 4 on 4 or whatever. Or with a manageable lead this team loves to string together a couple of quick consecutive ones and play without the puck for half a period. Stop with the lazy forecheck and the lost battles on the boards because you let up on the puck, stop with the flop shot puck flips that don’t even clear the zone or just slinging it directly to the other team on the rush with numbers. There’s so much more but fuck it

Doesn't matter if we're playing a great team or a terrible team. It's happening almost every damn game. We're in the box 4 or 5 times a game at minimum, we have ZERO push in the 2nd period.
It feels like we have an extreme mismatch in the system we want to run, and the players we have. That doesn't change with a trade, it just means that you might've hired the wrong guy.
Lost 7 of our last 8, and the vast majority of those teams should've been automatic. This is bad. Forget the results, start focusing on the process. The process needs huge improvement.

Tell that to VGK who are number 1 in their division with 12 OTL. Number 4 team in the central is 14 points back from us. Makes me wonder if the boys are coasting a bit.
Part of the frustration I think a lot of people are feeling is that this year the expectations are higher than ever as we finally acquire a true super star. Combine that with we all know that next year is going to be a step back as we wait to get the Seguin contract off the books. Bright side is 2 years it'll be back on an upward trend, but that means potentially 2 years of Mikko/Miro prime gone too. I believe Nill is going to do everything he can to not make next year a wash, but it's going to be a damn uphill battle with how things are right now.
And the fact that the roster is not much different than it was at the start of last year except for adding that superstar player.
The biggest offseason change was the coach, which was immediately a suspect hire at the time (anytime you hire a guy who hasn't been HC in 7 years, you have to wonder why).
The coaching thing is what it is. People have short memories, but this team in March of last year was atrocious. Not even the end of season losing streak, but the entire month we were bad winning on talent and not good play. The players have got to figure shit out
The difference is that last year we had 3 years worth of evidence to say "these guys just look like they've phoned it in until the playoffs. We know the system's good enough to be better than this."
Glen hasn't been a HC for 7 years, so he doesn't really get that benefit of the doubt. Instead, you're wondering why no one else hired him in the last 7 years after his tire fire ending with Calgary.

For sure. The shift in scheme is becoming more noticeable and not in a good way. Defensively it feels like we are letting other teams into the zone too easily and our guys arent adjusting to it. Last year Miro and Harley would pin and skater coming into the zone and keep them on the edge. That no longer happens and instead we gift teams free zone entries. On the other end of the ice our defenseman are crashing down and playing more aggressively, but we are getting burned and giving up more rush chances. Maybe we can continue to adapt and get better with it, maybe we bail on the Gully situation at the end of next season. Not sure, but I hope its not as bad as it looks this season. Despite our record we have not put it all together and looked like the dominant team we should very oftem

We didn’t get out chanced nor did the Sharks out XG us.
They had 4 more power plays than us. And most of the calls, deservedly so. This has been happening since Thanksgiving.
That tells me we were great 5v5 then, no? They had 5 PPs to our 2, and we still out chanced and out xG’d them. You have to look at the games isolated.

Tell that to VGK who are number 1 in their division with 12 OTL. Number 4 team in the central is 14 points back from us. Makes me wonder if the boys are coasting a bit.
Part of the frustration I think a lot of people are feeling is that this year the expectations are higher than ever as we finally acquire a true super star. Combine that with we all know that next year is going to be a step back as we wait to get the Seguin contract off the books. Bright side is 2 years it'll be back on an upward trend, but that means potentially 2 years of Mikko/Miro prime gone too. I believe Nill is going to do everything he can to not make next year a wash, but it's going to be a damn uphill battle with how things are right now.
And the fact that the roster is not much different than it was at the start of last year except for adding that superstar player.
The biggest offseason change was the coach, which was immediately a suspect hire at the time (anytime you hire a guy who hasn't been HC in 7 years, you have to wonder why).
The coaching thing is what it is. People have short memories, but this team in March of last year was atrocious. Not even the end of season losing streak, but the entire month we were bad winning on talent and not good play. The players have got to figure shit out
The difference is that last year we had 3 years worth of evidence to say "these guys just look like they've phoned it in until the playoffs. We know the system's good enough to be better than this."
Glen hasn't been a HC for 7 years, so he doesn't really get that benefit of the doubt. Instead, you're wondering why no one else hired him in the last 7 years after his tire fire ending with Calgary.

For sure. The shift in scheme is becoming more noticeable and not in a good way. Defensively it feels like we are letting other teams into the zone too easily and our guys arent adjusting to it. Last year Miro and Harley would pin and skater coming into the zone and keep them on the edge. That no longer happens and instead we gift teams free zone entries. On the other end of the ice our defenseman are crashing down and playing more aggressively, but we are getting burned and giving up more rush chances. Maybe we can continue to adapt and get better with it, maybe we bail on the Gully situation at the end of next season. Not sure, but I hope its not as bad as it looks this season. Despite our record we have not put it all together and looked like the dominant team we should very oftem

Know? No. I don't watch other teams games. But game in and game out for this team, the opponents are getting away with EVERYTHING. Whereas if a Dallas player breathes too hard on someone wearing the other sweater, automatic penalty.
I watch Habs games, and sometimes there’s missed calls but nothing like this. A Dallas player could be decapitated and they wouldn’t call it…
That’s the thing, it’s league wide. At least from some of the games I’ve watched and clips I’ve seen, reffing is just bad all around for most teams.

That’s a cop out. A dog shit 50% PK wins this game despite the horrible calls, and they couldn’t even manage that. Or we can just blame the refs into May from the off season.
coaching failure
It's very clear to me that Seguin is the heart of the team.
His absence took more than a player off the ice, it feels like it took some of the team’s spark. I am sure they miss his voice in the room and that happy aura he brings.
This team is in trouble. Whatever gully is doing isn’t working not working. Our d is too talented to be this bad. I am also a proud lumbskin hater from day one. That extra one percent physicality is just landing us in the box. lol.
The top 2 defensemen are talented. The rest are 7th defensemen/AHL level at best

Did you just not watch the end of the season last year? The Stars looked like shit for all of March. Pdb clearly had lost the room and the Stars were winning in spite of his system in the playoffs.
