Can’t believe it’s been this long already, but one year ago today Interstella 5555 debuted in theaters for one night only, just for a physical Daft Punk celebration One More Time
What did you guys think about it? I personally loved the movie (it was my first time seeing it!) but the part dearest to my heart is when Infinity Repeating played on the big screen for the very first and likely last time.
The was a slight applause when the film ended, and a roaring ovation after the Around The World video. Great showing.
The applause and cheering was loud at my theater too, it was a crazy time that night. Very beautiful, and my anticipation was so worth it

I would absolutely love that as a huge fan of the movie! Even if they use the crappy AI version I'll be graceful anyway to be able to watch it on the big screen! With them using the AI version and the crappy audio problems it might not come back :(
god that was such a fun night!! popped over into the city and met a TON of fans. i remember everyone screaming and crying "noooo!!" when the little clip of the robots waving ended
When this was first announced, there were no showings even remotely close to me, so I completely put it out of my brain. Then, I happened to be in another city on a trip and decided to see if there were any good movies playing at the theater nearby. And there it was. I had a great time and was so glad that things lined up that way.

it was a very emotional day for me, because on december 12 2023 i broke my femur, i had been in intensive care after the surgery, with blood transfusions, and one year after , even though i couldn’t walk normally ( and still can’t after two years ) i was able to go and see my lovely robots an enjoy it again. so it’s a very beautiful memory from last year. i love them since 97 and always will 💜
I had something similar happen in 2023 and being at the theater for Interstella made me grateful to be alive for it💜

I’m SO happy I was able to go. I’m eagerly awaiting a re-release of a physical edition, really hope it happens.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a physical re release would have a high likelihood of being the crappy AI upscale.

I had it playing throughout the venue I work at when I did our daft punk tribute set last Friday
It was my first time seeing it. It was on youtube (since taken down) but I wanted to see it in theaters. Stayed through the music videos + Thomas & GM waving at the end 🫶🏽
The only thing that sucked were these 2 shitheads who talked through the whole thing 😑 This guy on the other side of me brought his 5 year old son & he was able to stay quiet.
I want them to do this again …
The upscale was terrible, but I love that I can say I’ve watched Interstella 5555 on the big screen!

Shit was ass, worst audio ever, AI upscale, i was blaming the cinema but the mixing itself was ass, cinema couldn't do better, i could havw wnjoyed the songs way more
