You have to carry EVERYTHING in one trip. Groceries, toddler, your work bag, pizza for dinner... he was just annoyed with himself that he broke that cardinal rule of dadship.
the area between my kitchen and my dining room has a little platform like this. my kids are just super good at not falling down it because they have had to be aware of it since they were very small
It's the perfect place for a little kid sized slide.
Either to the front (then put up just a foot of additional wall or banister or something to the space to the left) or the slide to the left and a narrow wall between slide and stairs. But to the front, right next to the stairs, would be easier.
And just close that left corner with at least ply wood.
Look how low that is. Kiddo wasn't in danger, he's quite capable of jumping down and running off. I think that's why Dad wasn't so urgent about it. He wasn't saving his kid from danger. He was saving himself the hassle of having to chase after his kid if he managed to jump down.
Gotta keep those dad reflexes sharp when building code enforcement is dull.
Gotta have stairs railings
Balustrade would be mandatory in AU if its higher than a metre. Not sure about the rules on the handrail tho'.
Yeap, that man was even calculating the seconds before that toddler tried killing himself one more time that day, he was unfazed.
He looked kind of upset at himself that he had to let the door close.

As a father of two boys, I can assure you that you get used to it. Every few months you experience a situation like this.
Every few hours, you mean...
It gets a bit tricky when you have twins and they both do it at the same time.
They swing you, one on each arm.
Try triplets 😂
Can confirm, I have 4yo boys. They DGAF 😂
I mean, it wasn't that high. The kid would have bounced.
Also, I'm fairly certain that was not the first time the two of them have done that. Dad knew what was coming.
Kids are delicate but far from being fragile.
I like that a lot, I’m stealing it!
I laughed, alone, in my office, loudly. Toddlers really are suicidal.
As a daycare teacher, I can confirm that toddlers do NOT care about their safety.
Almost perfect loop! I thought the kid went again after the first watch
Baby Jackass
easy fix
That’s me as a kid every minute of every day.

Not the first time it's happened? It's happening over and over just in this clip.
