Hi. I am curious whether peel and stick wallpaper can go on painted drywall without hurting the drywall if we want to remove it. Any thoughts? Any particular brands that are best? Thank you.

  • The next owner will hate you forever.

  • I wouldn’t have much confidence in the wallpaper leaving some glue residue. Especially after a few years. Better use the conventional type with water based adhesive. Easily removed with water (trick is let it soak in)

  • In my experience, the wallpaper sticks to the drywall paper and when you attempt to remove it, the paper comes off with the wallpaper... Ended up having the damaged drywall removed and replaced... And yes, I hated the previous owners for doing that.

  • Do not do this unless you want to replace your drywall.

  • Don't do it
