Hey there honorary Justice League members - it’s a new week which means it’s time for a new discussion thread!

For those who don't know: the way this works is that several comments will list this week’s releases, for any given title discussion you should respond to that comment. For example, Wonder Woman discussion would go in the replies to the "Wonder Woman" comment. Clicking the titles in this post will take you directly to that comment, too. In other words, you should only be replying to other comments. Do not post top-level comments.

Keep discussion civil. Do not harass other users for having a different opinion. Do not use this thread to push your personal one-sided grudges against creators. Reacting to a panel on Twitter is not the same as reading a book.

  • Absolute Flash #10

THE ROGUES AND ABSOLUTE FLASH SEEK REVENGE! The deeper into Fort Fox Wally West goes, the more mysteries appear for him to chase. And whose voice is that calling to him?

    Preview

It's kinda interesting how Wally's experiencing time. I'm curious about how "Flashworld" works. And what the Thawne monster meant about there only being one.

And what the Thawne monster meant about there only being one.

My theory is that only one "Flash" can be outside of the Flashworld. So when Wally and sends Thawne back in (I don't think he'll die), Barry will still be stuck on the other side.

It was bastard 'Grandfather' Thawne all along. And he is trying to replace Wally and take his place while throwing him into the 'Stillworld'. And Wally seeing the 'glimpses' of the future, which Wally's father gonna be beating up someone. Whatever it is though, that Stillworld is definitely not 'Speed Force' or even 'Omega Force' that Darkseid' legion uses. Maybe it is the 'beginning' of it.

I quite like the anti-hero rogues though. I hope they stay and team up with Wally more.

Damn! I was not expecting Grodd to have a Dad. His father may become the traditional Gorilla Grodd. The Grodd we've seen is too cute to be bad.

    https://preview.redd.it/ibko8xgjqq7g1.jpeg?width=1988&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2bfe0cc3a109dbd7c39777c8afaa624581184072

Happy weather Wizard saved the day, He was like the Millennium Falcon saving the day.

Rogues are consistently the best part of the story for me so far.

Eobard shows up and is adamant there can be only one.I hope that doesn't apply to Thawnes as well. Leave Elenore alone!😿

If Eobard lives, maybe Jay Garrick has a chance.

So Barry is alive in some form, existing in that red dimension. Might be their version of The Speed Force. I have loved the Barry character for decades. I do wish he'd gone the bad guy route this time because he's always been so wholesome and clean cut. I want my Barry/Elenore ship. It sunk before it could really sail.😭

Good issue. I've noticed a general unrest with some about the series. Admittedly,It is slow, ironic given the name of the comic, but I'm still enjoying it, even with eternal do gooder,Barry.

Jay is totally alive. Let's not fall for the comic book fake out deaths.

I like that Wally and the Rogues dealt with Mick Rory (with Snart telling Wally to go find his dad while he and the Rogues deal with Mick) before Wally traveled to Fort Knox, dealt with the Trickster, encountered Thawne (who literally became a monster after decades being trapped somewhere), and traveled to a different world and saw Barry. Let’s hope that Barry will tell Wally what’s going on in the next issue. Overall, this comic is great.

  • Superman: The Kryptonite Spectrum #5

What's truly at the end of the rainbow? We can't be certain, but we're pretty sure it ain't a pot of gold!

Up to now it's been a peculiar, polychromatic pilgrimage for Superman: he's lost track of time under the influence of Purple Kryptonite, grown to skyscraper size via Cobalt K, revisited his adolescence by way of Speckled K, and traveled to the fifth dimension using a “key” carved of Rainbow Rock.

Now, in this final issue, the chickens have come home to roost — and so, too, has Kal-El. Back in Metropolis, the Man of Tomorrow must stand face-to-face with the Man of Today... and decide for himself, finally, whether Lex is right: Does home hurt too much?

    Preview

This series is bonkers. I love it.

Indeed it is, and same here.

Well that's certainly a way to end a story. It's like a sillier version of All-Star Superman's ending. But it's been a good read.

Yeah, although I don’t understand the test Batman was doing on that rat at the end.

Well I guess that was the only way this craziness was gonna end. And it IS definitely crazy. Like Lois 'I want to have a kid' and to save Clark, they turn him into a baby which Lois gonna raise with all the heroes...Man, you can name so many syndromes for that.

Cool that the same way Kryptonite-Man was defeated by repeating Krypton's end, Superman was saved by repeating being found as a baby. It's like poetry, it rhymes.

    What a series!

So to overcome the 'poisonous nostalgia' for his old home, Clark had to be literally reborn lol.

How's everyone feeling about the ending? I like that it's not the usual 'everything is fine' end but that situation is pretty crazy. Really liked the comic though.

It was creative, I’ll give it that.

It's wild to just... Think about how the story continues from this point lol. But I loved every page. Can't wait to read it thru again, but it's a rare comic where I felt the time in between was actual helpful.

I enjoyed it, and same here.

Can't believe how special this comic ended up being. It's so completely weird, and imo very Superman to the core. It's entirely self inflicted, but because of like a high sense of adventure.

Really good ending issue. This series was really fun.

This is one of the weirdest dc series ive read in a while but it suits superman completely and does feel like ice cream man's team version of all star in how it ends and this series feel in general.
    Very special book overall.

This was a pretty good miniseries. Funny, creative, I like how it uses a lot of stuff from the Superman universe, like the reference to pink kryptonite for example. Though I don’t understand why this miniseries was rated for age 17+. It’s not scary. I think 13+ would have sufficed.

I like that we get to see Clark defeat Lex, the Kryptonite Man, and the Bizarro Bots with help from Bruce, Lois, Jimmy, Krypto, the Superman Robots, and Kal-Elf, in which he told Jimmy that he looks great in bows (because he’s being honest with himself and that it’s an homage to him getting affected by pink Kryptonite, which didn’t exist in this universe), told Lois that she’s going to be a great mom and that he’s going to root for her, and thank Bruce for always being there for him because they’re the World’s Finest who got each other’s backs no matter what all throughout the multiverse before Clark defeated Lex (in which Clark told Lex that Metropolis isn’t his home), Bruce used cobalt Kryptonite to save Clark’s life (in which he and Lois aren’t going to like it), and Lois becoming a mother to a reborn Clark (who became an infant) with help from Jimmy (because he’s Superman’s best pal) and Linda. Overall, this is a ridiculously great comic and a great end to this series!

  • Nightwing #133

BLÜDHAVEN IS TURNING ON ITS HERO. NIGHTWING DOESN'T HAVE TIME TO CARE. As strange disappearances grip the city, the mysterious Cirque du Sin seems to be gaining power. Now, to save the city’s children, Nightwing must follow the circus music where no one else dares.

    Preview

I guess that is one way to have Dick's sister away from the book for a while, having her leave the city and the craziness, taking the foundation with her too so Nightwing don't have the unlimited funds anymore.

Martian Manhunter's inclusion is interesting. I guess he had dealings with the higher dimensions before. With the World Forger and even having a '6th dimensional son' and so on. And he will probably help Night-mite recover himself and help Nightwing against Zanni. After all, he gotta get revenge for what's been done to him AND Nightwing. Along with the kid who is waking up.

taking the foundation with her too so Nightwing don't have the unlimited funds anymore.

Dick is still a millionaire though. Not like he's cash strapped.

Also, he wasn't ever seen using his funds from the foundation to aid his hero work. I don't think that was narratively necessary and I feel it will be undone.

Yeah, he was using it to help the city, and it makes sense he wouldn't use that money to help himself, as it was a gift from Alfred, he wouldn't want to use it for his own gain.

I think it means Nightwing decided that money should go to a better city, because Blüdhaven already squandered it by electing another corrupt criminal and giving Zanni's evil Corp all the tech and police connections. So he went 'Sister. That this foundation and money to a place that it deserves. I am just gonna beat the city back to health with my night-sticks instead of money'

How is this nightwing run in comparison to the last one?

I am really enjoying this run. It's grittier than Taylor's, but, well, I think that suits Nightwing in a solo.

I think it’s top 2 nightwing runs tbh, different vibe than Taylor’s run for sure so taste may very but this run feels like such a return to classic characterization for him

Nice which one is the other one in your top?

I’d say Dixon’s but as time goes on i grow a little less fond of it. If the current run keeps this quality until it ends (hopefully a long way away) it’ll outrank it for sure.

    Nice sounds pretty awesome then

    It’s good.

Great will give it a try to see how I feel

A prelude to the final showdown. Does this arc wrap up next month? Or February? Plus, his sister is leaving town, so I wonder who's going to be the new mayor?

Should wrap up with issue #135

I like that we get to see Dick have a chat with Maggie to talk about what’s going on and what happened to Bryce, with Maggie telling Dick that she has met the World’s Finest in her decades as a cop from the ‘80s to the 2010s, before he had a chat with Melinda (who told him that she and Adure are leaving Blüdhaven to have a fresh start) and went to the Fifth Dimension (with J’onn’s help) to deal what the Zanni and save the people from him. Overall, this comic is good.

  • Bat-Man: Second Knight #2

The Scarecrow emerges in Gotham City, and fear consumes the streets! And now that he has the murderous Hangman to do his bidding, the stage is set for Scarecrow's next grand act. With terror and psychosis at a fever pitch across Gotham, the Bat-Man struggles to tame the city without destroying his personal life as Bruce Wayne... leading him to make a fateful decision about his relationship with Julie Madison...

    Preview

Even with Lois being in Issue #1, somehow I didn't expect Supes to show up, but a great debut/build-up for him in those first few pages. Good to have Jurgens writing Clark again.

Tying Scarecrow's origin to World War One and the gas warfare of that conflict is cool use of the setting.

With Lois around, Superman was not gonna be far behind. And good thing he was around too. Otherwise, Madison and Lois would've been in watery graves. And Bruce, don't lie to the poor woman like that about 'oh after this, I will stop'. No you won't.

Scarecrow wanting to work for the Nazis? Well, guess I am not surprised to hear that from that psychopath..

Guess it is fitting the origins of the events and characters come from World War 1 and the spark leads to World War 2 where they explode. It is a tragic connection really.

  • Obviously some contrivances to make the fight not end immediately but I'll take it, Zatanna doesn't want to kill her friend, sure. Remembering that, this was maybe the best All Fight issue yet. Lots of panel space taken up by Harley in cute outfits though lol

I agree with you about this being the best All Fight issue yet. I haven't read the tie in fights, but this one at least tried to do both characters justice while acknowledging what a hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby style match up it actually is. That is more than I can say for Superman vs God Complex Man or Lobo vs. God feat. a Wonder Woman shaped cardboard cut-out. The art being amazing also helps.

Really, if Williams had shown any sign at all of knowing Zatanna outside of I guess her appearance in Harley's little black book, it could have been perfect. Can't have everything, I suppose.

I don't know Zatanna (or Harley) very well either and I can't judge there, if the writer was completely lying about them being friends I'd be none the wiser

I don't really think this issue handled both characters well. Zatanna character wise feels like a child constantly being made fun of and manipulated by Harley who is an ultra-wise genius.

It feels very much like its trying to prop up Harley as the best girl ever with Zatanna's victory feeling like a consolation for her.

So personally I found it terrible compared to the Superman vs CA and WW vs Lobo issues. At least Diana did not come across as a total loser in her fight with Lobo.

I am genuinely shocked that Harley lost. I've been so used to her plot armor for so long. I especially thought she would win to later fight against Joker. Amusingly tho, it still seem there's still a bit of favoritism as play with how this came off as a Harley book.

Yeah, I wasn't the biggest fan of the issue but Harley losing was a nice surprise at least. Not that I dislike her or anything, there's just no way she would ever believably beat Zatanna.

The Batman/Clown characters are just kind of overloved by editorial and writers.

Even when they lose they still suck out all the oxygen in the room by having the most forced dignified deaths ever. Like the writers hate the very idea of them losing.

I think Zatanna is a sweet and compassionate person, but maybe wouldn't have been so blindsided by Harley like she was here initially. Though this felt more like a Harley comic than a Zatanna comic.

The only time Zee will ditch the heels is when she's trying to avoid someone finding her.

Why am I not surprised Leah Williams threw in a girl on girl fistfight/catfight into the tournament? Although Zee beating up Harley was satisfying.

I'm disappointed we got a Harley fashion show but not a Zatanna one. Or we got Harley in a Zatanna outfit and not Zee in anything other than her traditional look (which looked great across the entire issue, mind you). I feel like Mirka Andolfo would have killed more outfit transformations.

Really had to bring up her dad and her least favorite ex, huh?

Are Zee and Harley "friends?" I mean, I guess Harley has relied on her a few times and there was that one annual where she helped clear Zee's name (and ended up in the same cell as her). Though I feel like Harley has to be friends with everybody these days.

I guess we can't have Harley be selfishly motivated so she had to play the long-con to turn Zatanna into a killer for the "greater good."

Still, Zatanna won and Harley didn't so I'll take that win.

I need an artist/writer that can choreograph a fight scene for these fights.

Anyways, this might have the worst writing of all the fights in fight month so far. Zatanna and Harley have never been friends, Zatanna is not someone who needs to learn how to lock in or anything like that.

The art in general is really pretty tho

Pro: Harley is out of the tournament. It would have been hard to swallow if she beat Zatanna lol

    Con: this issue was weird.

So like, are Harley and Zatanna friends? Maybe I missed some stuff in Harley's solos (because I don't read them) but that felt like it came out of nowhere.

I get that Harley had to win round 1 so they could have Zee win the next two, but her showing in the first round was pretty embarassing lol

Also I quite liked the art! I have a feeling it won't jive with some people, but I dug it

Right winner but I found it weird Zee has no idea who Harley was talking to when she was breaking the 4th Wall long before Harley ever did.

I would have rather seen Zatanna just whomp Harley, but we had to have Harley inspire Zee for the rest of the tournament. Guessing it will be Superman vs Zatanna at the end. Now Zee should win but this whole story seems to be another Superman/Darkseid confrontation.

Comic was fine I liked it but enjoyed other rounds more, especially Aquaman vs. Hawkman.

I had a feeling that the writer didn't read a lot of Zee comics. She has decent combat training and has alternative means to cast spell without speaking backwards. Zee lost to Harley just because she can't speak is weak writing, should've let Zee win the first round, then let Harley chose the magic forms to compete for the other two rounds

I think she just got blindsided by Harley’s immediate sucker punch. It worked for exactly one round (then Harley got the upgrade), so it all followed logically. Do I think Zee should’ve immediately won, no contest? Sure. But I don’t think this was all that egregious.

I hate Harley being a fourth wall breaker, though. Can we nix that?

Admittedly she won the second round when it came down to a fistfight, I feel like the first fight she was just too disoriented from the larynx hit and from initially hesitating to fight Harley.

Zee was written to be a bit naive, but I guess it was to make the fight more believable or at least fair. Her getting mad at Harleys fourth wall breaks was funny Like a lot of the other fights, this had a disappointing ending. This one was probably my least favorite.

Reading DC K.O. made me realize that many American comic writers are not as good at writing battle or tournament stories as Japanese manga writers. The format for sure didn't help - they have one issue to write three rounds of fighting, while also having to give up a few pages for the Watchtower storyline. But on the other hands, they were givens a great plot device (use any version of the character, use any stage), feel like they can do a lot more

Yeah, I'm disappointed that a few characters didn't even switch forms because they decided to stick with what they won with.

Come on now. Zee is not some rookie that needs Harley to 'give her a kick'. She's been through far worse. Hell just recently in her own book she lost someone. It feels weird that Harley had to be included because she is popular, like the Joker. At least Zatanna won, so that is one positive. But that's all I can say really.

The 'Booster-seid' parts still are ridiculous.

    On erom tolp romra

I wonder if zatanna really can do that? And if she can she should use it more often

Interesting that the Fight Month one-off specials tend to be from the POV of the loser (Captain Atom, Lobo and now Harley). Zee definitely written as a bit more naive and closer to Harley than she's ever been rather than, at best, thinking of her as "annoying but tolerable", though maybe that's a result of this being from Harley's POV. Zatanna winning the second round without magic was good.

Why does it feel like Leah Williams has never read a Zatanna book before

I find it interesting that Zatanna and Harley get to have a fight, resulting in Zatanna to win and for her to plan on using her rage to defeat Darkseid. Also, Grodd using his psychic influence to free Booster Gold from Darkseid’s control. Overall, this comic is fine.

  • Titans #30

DC K.O. ALL FIGHT MONTH: ROUND 4 OF 8! Grab yourself a ringside seat and get ready for the latest round of K.O. carnage!

    Preview

Nice way for Cyborg to combine all the Titans' abilities into one form to fight and Swamp Thing knew to let him win as one of the 'better options' to not get corrupted by the Omega power.

So they reference the 'Heist' for Lian. I hoped they would ignore that since it is a terrible writing for Lian that should be non-canon, honestly.

Grail shows up here? I guess she is gonna be Donna's final boss while Diana is busy in the tournament.

Darkseid in Booster's body getting more and more ridiculous.

Swamp Thing knew to let him win as one of the 'better options' to not get corrupted by the Omega power

Then why join the tournament in the first place?

Agreed. Doesn't have a lot of weight to it after he literally questions why anyone is better to defend the Earth than the Earth. Like genuinely, I'm down for swamp things vision if the planet more than most people's lol.

I hope they don’t do Grail like they did Granny Goodness a few issues ago. This comic continues to set things up and do nothing with them

I mean, she already jobbed to the 'Matriarch' in Wonder Woman this week.

That titanic form is pure comic book ridiculousness, lol. It shoots escrima sticks, and that's just funny. But like a lot of the fights, the ending disappoints. But I do think Victor has a legit shot at winning. I also liked that the issue referenced Cheetah and Cheshire rob the Justice League. And I'm curious about that KO special with the superhero kids and if they're gonna end up being the new titans.

can someone remind me if the Titanic form is from a previous comic? They really should have footnotes for the forms that people choose during this event

    Vic says

SOME FROM MY PAST, SOME VARIATIONS I NEVER EVEN IMAGINED, STRETCHING AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE

I don't know much Titan's lore and comics, but my bet is that form was created just for this comic

Yea you are probably right. The way they said "this titanic form" make it sounds like a reference to an old event lol

I know people hate how Lian was written in the heist comic, but I'm glad it's referenced here. I look forward to seeing how that move actually impacts the landscape.

Vic has been my prediction to win since the outset.

Haven't been reading Titans but really enjoyed this! This is my favourite Pete Woods's art has looked as well.

That ending with Swampy giving himself up was also really nice. Just a generally good showcase of Cyborg's character which I appreciate!

They have to force Swampy to forfeit for plot reasons because he’d easily be a finalist on a power and abilities level.

fr i love Cy but Swamp Thing could be a passing JL threat if he wanted

Two mistakes that pulled me out of the story :

1 - Heart of Apokolips says : CHOSE YOUR FORM. Should be CHOOSE YOUR FORM.

2 - Lian says : WHAT ARE GONNA DO, GROUND ME ? Should be WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO, GROUND ME ?

Probably the most I've enjoyed a Titans comic for a good long while. Vic's voice isn't quite right (one of my ongoing complaints about this series is that the pushing-30 Titans sound and act like they're in their early 20s), but the general thrust of the fight feels good. Vic's always been competitive but thoughtful. It doesn't feel like a hugely contrived win, even though it very much is.

I will say that Roy and Lian's relationship feels a bit like Worf and Alexander here.

I like that we get to see Victor fight Swamp Thing, to told him to promise him to make sure that he’s going to defeat Darkseid, before it resulted in Victor winning the round. Also, Lian (who called out Roy for not asking Oliver about him joining the Titans back in 1964) and Jon helping Roy (who called Lian out for helping Jade rob the Justice League) and Donna evacuate the civilians (before Grail encountered Donna and Roy) and Grodd dealing with Darkseid. Overall, this is a good comic.

    LEGACY #828

    Preview

So in the future, the Matriarch makes it seem like she's fighting all of WW's main enemies from the big confrontation in DC from earlier in the run - even framing it as "those same five foes" - but there were six enemies Diana ostensibly fought that day. Circe is pointedly absent, and given there have been little hints throughout she's been playing her own game the whole time, I wonder if we're about to get the revelation that she's been orchestrating everything.

It's an okay end to the arc. The villain gets defeated quite easily, and the people get inspired. But I guess the thing to take away from the arc is that Diana is more committed to being a mother. And speaking of a matriarch, The Matriarch killing Diana's rogue gallery felt off to me. I kinda feel like there's a lie being told there. But besides that, I am curious about what the consequences are going to be. Kinda feels it'll be a suspension from the league.

Come on now, Batman and Superman would definitely understand why Diana did what she did. Especially when a villain literally enslaved a whole populace. They themselves never allowed such a thing to stand because of 'promises' too.

As for the future stuff with the Matriarch. I just don't care for it. Like Sovereign. Especially since the characters are just being fodderized to 'build her up' but given no possible reason how she suddenly like this. Can beat heroes and villains like that. Also, why? Is King trying to play 'should've killed baby Hitler in the crib' thing with her?

If you ignore the Matriarch stuff, it is fine but with it, it is not good. Especially with the waste of the 'mystery amazon' that just got killed with no answers to how she met Sovereign, how did she get pregnant with her and so on. Because it can also imply she got 'coerced' by the lasso to do so which adds ANOTHER terrible implication. And another reason to avoid this Matriarch thing.

Im the biggest king fan but this was a miss in my opinion in how it worked out the defeat of mouseman in my opinion was well done as truly the story was about how much fake power he had and how behind it truly he was pathetic so an easy defeat makes sense.

The problem is with the matriarch king mentioned how shes the big bad of this run but slaughtering all of dianas villains is a joke to me and it feels like a case of king going look how strong my new villain is which i don't like.
The problem is especially with this character its literally how grail worked again rogue amazon has a super powerful child with a villain and becomes a big threat do we need two of them.

I find it interesting that Diana was able to free an island from Mouse Man before she told him that she’s going to leave him alone after defeating him a d told the girl that she’s going to make mistakes and find a way into the darkness and the light as herself. Also, the World’s Finest (because Tom King’s work on them) telling Diana that there’s going to be consequences for her traveling to an island and an alternate future timeline where the Matriarch killed Diana’s Rogues. Overall, this comic is fine.

  • Batman / Superman: Worlds Finest #46

In order to defeat the Joker/Luthor team, Batman and Superman may have to ask for a little help from their friends — if they still have any after the shocking events of last issue! Don't miss part two of “The Merger.”

    Preview

Yeaa they are gonna have to use that gizmo to erase the knowledge from everyone.

The Super-Bat fusion is back, great but damn that Lex-Joker fusion is a nightmare. With those sunken eyes too.

And unlike the 'combination' of minds, it is like a combination of bodies but the minds just 'switch' control in-between. So not a 'true' fusion.

The fusion is back! Peak is back!!

Lex and Joker talking to each other were pretty fun too, almost like a Two-Face thing with the panels showing half the face.

Dan Mora must have a line in his contract that lets him being back ManMan every few months

Well he only did the cover and fusion character isn’t even on it so he might have get that contract looked at 😅

I like that Clark and Bruce, with Hal’s help, merge themselves to become the Superbat Lantern again to deal with the Lex Joker Absorbacon, resulting in them saving as many people as they can and for Lex and Joker to learn and reveal Clark and Bruce’s identities to the entire world. Let’s hope that the World’s Finest heroes will defeat the World’s Finest villains and make sure that they’ll find someway to make their identities be secret again. Overall, this comic is great!

It's obvious they plan to undo the leak at the end of the arc with the same device that caused it, but i wonder if dc is still sticking to that "if people figure out superman is Clark Kent, they die" thing

  • Superman Unlimited #8

The issues seem to speed by super fast. It's very old school, oneshot comic book storytelling, but without all the narration, which also makes it feel kinda empty imo. I like Slott and defend his Marvel work, but this book is all carbs and no protein for me.

After their failure with the United Planets, Durlans really tried this on Earth? Well, good thing Lois was there to outsmart them and Supes to take notice of it. Yea, Lois. I know you wanna do some adventures but you might be spreading yourself too thin as Clark said. I mean, had to rely on Guy of all lanterns soo that should be a wake up call!

I had a lot of fun with this. Enjoyable teamup where everybody looked good. Lois even got to stand out. Always loved Guy and this whole story was an effortless read.

First issue of this series I've read and I probably will check out more now.

I like that Clark team up with Guy to save Lois and the astronauts from the Durlans, in which Sebastian Stagg (who should realize that he doesn’t exist pre-Crisis and pre-Flashpoint because Metamorpho’s history had been screwed over) colluded with them, with help from Toyman. Also, Lois telling Clark the word “xylophone” because she wants him to make sure that it’s really her in case something goes wrong, which it did. Overall, this is a great comic.

Nice Dan Slott made Lois be the fucking Katy Perry of the DC universe, this comic book sucks

Not really. If anything they intetionally put a Katy Perry stand-in on the mission to avoid that comparison.

The 180 Grønbekk has done in terms of the quality of her writing is kinda insane. The first arc was so boring, but now she is weaving Selina's backstory into the current run marvelously and using the Court of Owls will likely lead her back to Gotham.

It was also nice to see Selina help that woman who attacked her, by going out of her way to make sure she doesn't, you know, die. In the last arc Selina was too blasé about death, so it was nice to see.

So Falcone sold the whole mafia families to the Court of Owls. Well, Selina now definitely needs to bring in Batman to this.

I would not at all be surprised if it was what leads her back to Gotham. Much improved arc from Grønbekk, weaving Selina's backstory and the transition to the Court of Owls was very well handled. Also doesn't seem to be going into Falcone is her father thing, but honestly, I don't think it'd be that big a deal. What matters is that Maria is her mother and that Selina's childhood sucked.
