Yes. It’s always when my youngest is in the trenches of a respiratory illness and I’m like too scared to sleep. The nerves / stress hospital visits I see weird / hear weird things. Then I finally get sleep and it’s gone 😅
For me it was definitely sleep deprivation and my brain not being used to being awake and running for 24+ hours. I did eat and drink during the race so it’s not from lack of fueling. The hallucinations used to be a lot more intense when I was less experienced in the 100 mile distance, now I rarely experience them but again it’s totally normal if you are exhausted!
THATS WHAT ITS CALLED?? Pretty much any time I wake up from a good deep sleep, I lay there slowly waving my hand in my face watching the onion skin effect thing of my hand follow it lmfao
Yep. Sleep deprivation turns real life into low FPS mode.

I have experienced them after running overnight during 100 mile ultra marathons. Totally normal if you are experiencing sleep deprivation!

I was once awake for almost 2 days (stupid teenager) and the walls started moving and changing colors so I decided it was time for bed.
