Have you tried apologizing for it, brushing aside their assurances that it really is no big deal 5 times in a row, watching them get moderately irritated, and then disengaging secure in the incorrect conclusion that the initial emotion caused this issue and not your consistent refusal to listen to the other human when they told you all was good?
I highly recommend against it. Been doing it my whole life. Will do it more in the future.
I’m learning to stop this! Sitting with the insecurity of whether or not they’re upset is horrible but much better than ENSURING they get upset. Usually if you give it a few minutes their demeanor will reassure you that, no, you didn’t ruin everything. Just try to sit with the horrible insecurity, you’ll see!
Pretty sure this is a bot. Very new account that only posts in high-traffic karmafarming subreddits, language in comments lines up with known generative bots.
You'll find this funny, the other day I was joking around on /r/startrek about watching Star Trek with my glasses off to get that "low-def 90s broadcast experience feel" and said something about how all the characters looked like red and yellow blobs. An hour later a bot came in trying to advertise some pirate website saying
I feel you bro I've been there too, watching Star Trek and suddenly a character turns into a red blob and a yellow blob. SLOPSITE has literally no ads and Dolby Vision, it's free and you don't need an account, I've watched TNG there.
To be fair, a character turning into red and yellow blobs during an episode is totally something I can see happening in Star Trek (and it would be a metaphor for human prejudice or something (and it would either be in the top 10% of episodes or bottom 10%, no middle ground)), I just don't think going to whatever slopsite they were advertising was going to solve the issue.

I figured the next stage for a lot of these bots was advertising spam, but holy shit, that's BOLD. Really, I'm almost impressed.
