Ownership is clearly now harvesting their investment from 2016. They’re not here to consistently put out a champion caliber team. They’re here to make as much money as humanly possible.
I would've liked to have seen them keep Keller on that deal. They have signed 3 other relievers to major league contracts thus far, so I don't know about making no moves. Another hard throwing righty would be nice, though.
I love Brad Keller and I wish we signed him, but we've also been successful with finding diamond in the rough bullpen pitchers, and Keller is a prime example of that. I think it's a smart strategy that the team has a proven track record with.

Been saying that. Said it right after they won it.
Of course! In a nutshell!

Relief pitchers are the only moves the Cubs HAVE made. Which is needed since they cleaned house. Keller would have been a good re-sign though.
At this point, they might as well trade off the guys with expiring contracts and just totally go with youth.
Classic Jed.
Classic Ricketts.
EDIT: This sub full up with Ricketts apologists. lol What a joke. 3rd highest revenue. 5th lowest investment into players.
Jed and Tom both suck, I wasn't endorsing Ricketts
I’ve been saying this since before they even owned the team.
No doubt about it I am ready to be hurt again.
