Tbh Bitcoin has done only like 4x from 4 year cycle lows? Thats pretty lackluster if you ask me. Crypto bullmarkets as we know it are done for good. Too many altcoins in this space, Bitcoin has matured to the point that you could make more money investing into stocks etc.
Bitcoin went from about 15K in euros at its lowest in November 2022 to ~105K at its highest this year. That's about 7X that's an incredible return in 3 years time. The difference is even higher in dollars as the dollar shit the bed this year. Especially considering almost no alt even hitting ATH.
It does not... Nvidia became the biggest company in the world in that time span. How is a 7x gain in a 3 year span lacklustre??? I swear some of you crypto bros are so delusional.
You just said 4x from cycle lows. This is simply not true and I just stated that it wasnt. There is no need to change the goalpost after getting disproven.
IDC about complaining about this cycle. I made 4x gains on BTC this time and am happy with how this cycle went.
It’s not cherry picking if it’s the most current and relevant data. If they were comparing something in the past with something else in the past you’d absolutely have a point. But this is data that is happening right now
I mean that isn’t true at all, and you could have checked that on the same device you typed your comment on before you made unnecessarily confrontational posts like an overwrought teenager.
Silver was $48 in 1980. It passed that mark in 2011, then collapsed to almost $12 in 2020, and only reached $48 again in November 2025. I have silver, but I am just pointing out all assets have ups and downs.
Silver needs to rally to about $188 to match the 1980 ATH.
Yesterday's bottom was 69.20. The price is now bouncing around 72. Might want to put down the copium and read up on the new silver battery. There's a reason it's going up.
I eyeballed the values on Trading View's chart. Here's more specific numbers from Yahoo Finance. Silver prices sucked since 2011. I'm glad it's corrected up since I have some silver that I bought @ $15 in 2009-2010.
I bought a 4.8mm width 24" french diamond cut silver necklace (about 1.5oz) back in Feb 2024 for $45. Today that thing is like $250 from the same place. Basically my best investment.
Haha, you’re right. Not sure why 3 years was stuck in my head. But you can cherry-pick any asset’s performance to make it look bad. I’m glad silver has gained value. I bought some in 2011 and was frustrated with its performance all these years. I still think it needs to go over $100 to catch up with gold.
Zooming into cherry-picked timeframes is the oldest trick in macro. You can make almost anything look brilliant or terrible if you choose the right start and end date. Long-term conviction has never been about winning yesterday’s comparison.
I bought ETH in 2017-18 at $90-ish$. I’m doing just fine. No one said money come quick. Investments take time. I’m not sweating anything. I think of ETH like my second Roth IRA.
We will see who is laughing when ETH is $3200 in 2070
And so is a big mac
1 ETH = 1 Big Mac
I see you see the benefits of a sandwich-heavy portfolio. - 🦞
I’m lovin it
I love my big Mac
And adjusted for inflation that is...
I like the way you think
They don't know what we upto. Let them laugh for the moment.
what is this FUD? ETH will surely hold 3200 in 2069
Yeah and if you bought ETH in April you’d have outperformed someone holding silver for 15 years. Cherry-picking at its prime
True on both sides.
ETHs price performance has been lackluster this bull market though...
Everything but Bitcoin has been lackluster this cycle...

Well, Nvidia was at $15 in June 2022 and has reached 207. So the previous comment stands
It does not... Nvidia became the biggest company in the world in that time span. How is a 7x gain in a 3 year span lacklustre??? I swear some of you crypto bros are so delusional.
I was talking about the last sentence "Bitcoin has matured to the point that you could make more money investing into stocks etc."
Yeah thats a cool in theory but tell me how many people actually bought at 15-20k$ and sold at 126k $? Basically no one. Bitcoin is at 87k rn.
You just said 4x from cycle lows. This is simply not true and I just stated that it wasnt. There is no need to change the goalpost after getting disproven.
IDC about complaining about this cycle. I made 4x gains on BTC this time and am happy with how this cycle went.
Definitely cherry picking, but it's still insane you can pick this cherry.
At least it's not MSTR. Down 50% since the start of Millennia.
Alternatively, if you bought ETH yesterday, you’d have outperformed someone holding silver for over a whole decade from 2011 to 2023.
How do you fit a decade into 2 years?
My bad, I meant 2011, not 2021
This
And if you bought silver 10 years ago you would have 4x what ETH has done since April!
We can do this all day back and forth to make one asset look like the better investment, that’s the point of my comment lol
45 years, not 15. Silvers previous ATH run was in 1980
You’re right but ETH would still outperform silver’s 15 year performance
Yes, just saying it illustrates your point even further
You’re coping so hard hahaha
Exactly
It’s not cherry picking if it’s the most current and relevant data. If they were comparing something in the past with something else in the past you’d absolutely have a point. But this is data that is happening right now
Yeah. Same with my “right now” data. Holding ETH from April until “right now” outperforms holding silver from 15 years ago until “right now”. Lol
At a specific moment in time that’s apt to change every second.
Sure, then check back here in a week and compare the two again. We can both observe the pattern
Check back at the next ATH. Time is relative
Translation: I will only talk about it if / when it’s winning again
Talk about cherry picking 😂
I don’t use a horse in the race, but same goes for you. How the turntables have…
What if you bought ETH in 2016?
They don't talk about that part 🤣
If you knew Crypto in 2016 you are probably better off in life than to answer such questions.
Well I did buy in 2016. But traded for very bad alts. So I am not better off.
We are the same and it hurts.. Luckily I've been stacking Bitcoin after my first bull but still decided for some alts..
Well... Ah...damn.
Most of us in this sub entered crypto in Covid times so we are bag holders
I entered in 2013 and swapped for alts at the peak of cycles and I too am a bag holder, of trash.
Haha I purchased this year at 4k
In summer 2016, ethbtc was higher than today's
In this thread, we are comparing to silver not BTC.
Some of us like the punishment
What if I bought Eth today?
Yes
you wouldn't download a car
I’m interpreting that as ~the entire concept of crypto is irrelevant because it’s not tangible~ ?
Stop, they're already dead!
Slow burn
Yeah I did!
There is no way this post organically has 88 votes in 18 min.
This subreddit has gone off the bearish deep-end so it would not surprise me.
Lol what? This sub has millions of users you muppet and some of us like to shit on ETH for being a damp squib.
Lots of bitter ETH holders
What is he talking about? Buy Eth jan22 till today your up over 200% 🤔
behold the power of cherrypicking
Precious metals are a hedge against volatility and nothing more.
Yeah. And some people think the financial markets (and world in general) are a bit volatile these days..
If you want to bet on volatility being predictable, you have every right to make bad choices.
Right. They won't be forever. Gold has already had a wacky crash like a month ago.
Dude gold lost 3%, stabilised and then rose again, that’s a minor correction.
That's a crash and a surge according to crypto analysts xD

I mean that isn’t true at all, and you could have checked that on the same device you typed your comment on before you made unnecessarily confrontational posts like an overwrought teenager.
GOLD has been outperforming ever since we went off the Gold Standard in 1971.
Please release it was 35 USD then and it is 4500 USD now, seems like we have been in volatility for some while now 🤣
It's been underperforming inflation you muppet
No, it really hasnt
And it only took a global supply shortage to do it. At least eth gives you a yield
400+ prosilver upvotes in a crypto sub?
This isn't fishy at all...
But I was told time in the market beats timing the market.
What's next? Litecoin?
Right if you bought silver 30 years ago you’d be laughing 30 years later. Meanwhile Eth hasn’t come close to what it is.
Silver was $48 in 1980. It passed that mark in 2011, then collapsed to almost $12 in 2020, and only reached $48 again in November 2025. I have silver, but I am just pointing out all assets have ups and downs.
Silver needs to rally to about $188 to match the 1980 ATH.
it's going to soar once I sell. Dont worry guys. Im going to save the day.
This is painfully funny.
Shambles ? Ethereum is much more than price appreciation.
These people will carry crates of silver when escaping a country.
They won't, and will get robbed or shot along the way.
What did you carry, they last few times you escaped a country? Eth?
There, there.
Suddenly everyone are sick of ETH. This only means one thing. Time to buy more.
If you bought silver yesterday you bought at the peak and you’re a twit if you think that’s outperformance.
Lol, if you bought silver yesterday you are up over $2 per ounce today.
Not really. The price 24 hours ago was 20 cents cheaper - lol! It's up 20 cents per ounce.
Yesterday's bottom was 69.20. The price is now bouncing around 72. Might want to put down the copium and read up on the new silver battery. There's a reason it's going up.

12/24/25 - $71.685
12/23/25 - $70.485

ETH really comes in handy when you invest it into presales
Lottery tickets*
Damn..
Markets gonna market
Ouch that a low shot
HODLING for the PAIN.
I'm laughing either way...got both at $9 and $22 😁🫵🏼
That’s crazy!
Depends on when the bought and sold but sure
ETH bag was secured in 2017, I’m in it for the biscuit
I bought a 4.8mm width 24" french diamond cut silver necklace (about 1.5oz) back in Feb 2024 for $45. Today that thing is like $250 from the same place. Basically my best investment.
If you sold your eth like early/mod October you would have outperformed silver too. DCA in/DCA out in bull run.
that is why "hodling" is crazy with such volatile assets.. take fucking profit
ETH was about $1,200 on January 1, 2023. It's currently about 145% higher.
24 Hours ago Silver was $72.39. It's now $72.60.
OP, your meme is fake news.
What is 2026-2023?
Haha, you’re right. Not sure why 3 years was stuck in my head. But you can cherry-pick any asset’s performance to make it look bad. I’m glad silver has gained value. I bought some in 2011 and was frustrated with its performance all these years. I still think it needs to go over $100 to catch up with gold.
Too bad I sold silver yesterday. FML
No one can invest long terms 😔
Tom Lee $BMNR stock suffered a lot this year
ETH holders fuming rn
So many crypto currencies, so zero actual value.
Top signal lol
Can never time perfect entry so just diversify to hold ETH and silver.
I’ve held silver since 2011 and I’m up only 40% in that time.
ETH is a shitcoin
Mining stocks are the new thing
If you bought Eth in April you outperformed someone who's been holding silver for 45 years
All ETH supporters have been raging on about ETH hitting 5k and 20k "soon", "very soon", that's been going on for a year (actually, YEARS)
But even when BTC skyrockets, eth hasn't broken it's ATH
So yeah, no, the theoretical ETH boom had been proven to be dead and wrong forever now
What could possibly make it climb since they moved to Proof of Stake? Now it's just a utility coin that has no wealth building use case
They can print as much as they want and the people at the top already own the majority of it since it was POW It's bo better than fiat money
ETH is a terrible bet
Unless you bought it at 10 bucks, then you are already a weiner🎉
Cherry picking but still funny ngl
Zooming into cherry-picked timeframes is the oldest trick in macro. You can make almost anything look brilliant or terrible if you choose the right start and end date. Long-term conviction has never been about winning yesterday’s comparison.
Eth is the foundation of the future financial system. When the ‘Clarity Act’ is passed in January liquidity is going to pour in.
If you’ve never heard of the Clarity Act why are you even commenting?
People staking eth would have done decent.
Precious metals are on a tear. There will eventually come a time where capital rotates back into crypto.
Been buying since 300. Silver is trash . wtf are you going to do with it? Nothing. Doesn’t even give you interest. Ffs
Wasn’t ETH a stablecoin?
The only stable and usable chain.
Stable would be an improvement at this point.
for real. it s -12.6% YTD.
Stable at not breaking 5k
What??😂
actually yes
Mother of shitcoins
Who the fuck cares about silver
Vampires?
Touché
Apparently boomers and wall street. They rug the shit out of crypto but won't do the same to silver
I've converted about 90% of my ETH holdings to DOT.
RIP
Laughs in I bought eth in 2018 - I would’ve bought earlier but my parents refused. So I had to wait until I turned 18😂
I bought ETH in 2017-18 at $90-ish$. I’m doing just fine. No one said money come quick. Investments take time. I’m not sweating anything. I think of ETH like my second Roth IRA.
If you bought ETH in April you’d have performed the same as someone who bought silver in April. Such a dumb tweet
Late April, correct. Silver was $33.6. It's a little over double now. ETH is also about 2x the April low.
