My original photo, not AI generated. Just experimenting I had gemini convert it to crossview (I actually asked for parallel view but whatever). Was surprised by the result. Would still rather capture the actual depth of a scene rather than fake it, but it's interesting to know it can do it.

The berries still look flat
Yes, but still real good for ai.
Viture has an app for their AR glasses called “SpaceWalker” that translates 2D to 3D in real time, and to better effect than this (though still neat!)
Watching Akira in 3D was pretty nuts o_O
I think it's the fact that Nano isn't specifically made for that, and as far as I'm aware, isn't really known for being able to do that.
Why are you getting down voted lol
Because AI
Because it's bad, and AI is bad
Really? I see the berry in the forefront really popping out. The effect works really well here imo.
It’s popping up in front of the other for sure. But they both look like flat cards
i mean it did work even if the berries are a lil flat, but the little gap in leaves underneath the two berries also pops out really strong for me and makes it kinda disorienting @_@
Yeah not perfect and maybe not the best picture choice. But it's pretty wild that it can do it at all. Let alone first try. Like all things AI it's probably mostly luck of the draw if you get a good result, but it seems like it's at least possible to get one of you spent some time at it.
I don't really see a point in trying too hard to get a good result myself though, I was just trying stuff. As I said, I'd much rather use real pictures. I just thought it was interesting that it could at all. Might even be able to help with someone's workflow. For example it might be able to adjust the distance between two pictures to provide more or less depth perception if you don't have the angle you need.
Makes me curious if it might open up some creative choices that weren't possible before though. I might try some weirder stuff with it
Not great
Would be interesting to make a crossview and then compare it to the AI one generated using one of the pictures
The individual objects do seem pretty flat, but it did good at placing those planes at the right distance from each other.
I'm guessing it can estimate the relative distance of objects from the camera by looking at how in/out of focus their edges are.
For what it is I’m impressed
not great but pretty good
What was your prompt? I'd like to compare with other conversion methods.
My first was
But that picture didn't work well so I tried again with this picture and asked for a stronger sense of depth.
This is interesting and I hope AI gets better at it.
Definitely though you want to do this on images that do not have such a severe bokeh effect. The depth is wasted on a blurry background.
Although the bokeh is a good clue for the AI to use for judging depth.
