But actually it was an earthquake accompanied by a tsunami. Sometimes seismic activity is accompanied by "earthquake lights" (we don't really know what causes them), and animals are thought to sense waves produced by low level tremors and panic because of it. The city was rediscovered and is currently being excavated.
Tastes differ, I'm okay with that. What would you consider a better creepier article, then? I just hate seeing the sub inactive and am trying to breathe some life back into it.
