Humans 2000 years from now will one day dig a hole were millions have been buried because it was cheaper to do that than store them all. Over production.
wow all those people kept them in their box. i have one funko pop that i actually removed from the box bc i feel like that’s what you’re supposed to do with figurines. then i learned that everyone keeps them in the box
its because they were always marketed as collectors items kinda thats why they all have mumbering and whatever. it was a mass production scam for regular people that thought collectors will eventually think theyre valuable
I’m betting these went to an overstock store. They didn’t sell there so they either sold them to the thrift store for pennies, or just donated them to get rid of them.
These agents of evil are ruining antique stores. Tell me why there are multiple stalls at every antique store i go to that are just funko pops and other cheap plastic garbage 😭
Went into local GameStop store because I hadn’t been in a while.
Holy shit. It was almost all anime figures on one side and Funkos on the other. There were some board games and then a wall for Pokémon/Nintendo stuff. Then there was a small subsection for PS games with a smaller sliver for Xbox
the store I work at sells loads of funkos. we went out for celebratory drinks when we found out they were struggling financially lol. more space to sell the stuff our customers actually care about
It's going to get a lot worse soon
I imagine future generations of Anique stores are going to be filled with Funko pops and Hatsune Miku figures.

There's lots and lots and lots of valuable energy (long-chain hydrocarbons) in that plastic. Burn it, run a turbine, throw it on the grid.
ET on steroids

Boxes that are as soulless and unremarkable as the figurines within them.
“let’s take up 30% MORE space on the shelf” said these people, apparently
NRFB!
mines actually MNB

I (very surprisingly) have not seen them at goodwill yet
Goodwill probably seems them online for 60% of the brand new price.
What is the price of a funk pop by the way? I honestly don't know, is it like $20?
I’ve seen a couple but they’ve been sitting for at least a month
People with big collections dying. Just imagine suddenly inheriting a few shelf loads of these things.

This is ridiculous no way any woman could use a funkpop as a dress that's just not feasible.
Not with that attitude.

Saturation
Probably a dead nerd who's parents didn't know what to do with them.
