They’re probably fakes. I’d bet there’s at least 3-4x as many copies as there are real ones in the world. It’s got to be a big part of why they lost popularity so fast- the market was flooded with them.
i wouldn’t hate saying it- this person is most definitely a poser. i may sound like a gatekeeper, but in niche communities like the punk scene a little gatekeeping is a good thing. it’s how you weed out (most importantly) bad actors like nazi punks. checking people keeps the community focused on their core ideals.
I don't plan to get rid of any of mine. People just get mad when a collectors thing is for women, no one bats an eye at men hoarding expensive cardboard.
Labubus have already crashed too. I'm sure they'll do a Gucci collab or some shit to revive them, but the ones people paid $80+ for are being sold for $30.
