Bro, Australia is one of those places you can't even own pepper spray. The stuff we give teenage girls to fend off creeps is considered a "dangerous weapon".
Wouldn't doubt we hear news (likely suppressed) about him facing some sort of misdemeanor charges along with whatever the perp faces. I'll be genuinely shocked if the Australian authorities uphold him as a hero in any way.
Supposedly, he was arrested, but there is a lot of misinformation going around on the shooting so I wouldn't put much credibility in the rumor until more information is shared.
I'd put the /s, but there are morons who actually think that. Well, "think" is probably a bit too generous. There are morons who say that because that's their programmed response.
From the video I saw(the one looking at the bridge), the shooters were moving from cover in a way that made them pretty easy targets for any half decent shooter with a normal service rifle. The video was also wild because the person filming had a wide open shot from elevation…basically where the cops should have been.
I’m assuming the shooters were firing slugs because they both were using shotguns. That’s a frightening thing to get hit by and explains the number of dead…but also makes the slow resolution time even more damning for Australian police.
Soooo many careers are about to end in Australia. This is something heads roll for allowing to happen. Horrible readiness of your police force, intelligence whiff, it’s just all bad. RIP to the fallen.
I thought maybe police there aren’t armed, but then the article says they started to return fire… after 20 minutes. 20 minutes??? The picture of the female cop with her hands up like she is surrendering is weird, because the guys appear to casually be walking by. Bizarre.
A. WOW the Australian police are amazingly incompetent. They almost shot that bystander (who did run up there for no good reason), failed to secure the area, and obviously allowed this to go on for 20 minutes.
B. I found a photo of the female police with her hands up letting them walk past her, but no video yet.
Funny I actually saw a liberal here on Reddit tried to pull the "what happened to the good guy with a gun?" Trope lol. I was like… You do realize that you're NOT allowed to be a good guy with a gun in most of the places where these "actual" mass shootings happen right?
I will be curious what the sentiment of the general population of Australia is going to do. With the Strict gun laws and utter incompetence at the federal level shake things up or will it be swept under the rug because it was Jews that were slaughtered?
the cops probably aren't allowed to do anything until given the go ahead which apparently takes a long ass time. Had they acted on their own they probably get fired or go to jail themselves.
What’s with the non-sequitur? Unless I’m missing something, NYPD was not involved in any way. And furthermore, NYC’s violent crime rate is lower than dozens of other places.

It’s worse.
One of the shooters was being watched by the feds, but deemed “not an active threat”.
Every fucking time...
At least our three letter agencies aren't the only ones that are completely useless.
You could clearly tell from the videos that the police showed total incompetancy in their response.
leftists: "civilians don't need firearms, that's why we have police"
also leftists: "police are corrupt, evil and incompetent and should be defunded"
And trained in deescalation and social work rather than combat and tactics.
I think it's a little more: civilians don't need firearms if all white men and MAGA are locked up
So let me get this straight:
……..do we see what’s wrong with this picture, mates?
Bro, Australia is one of those places you can't even own pepper spray. The stuff we give teenage girls to fend off creeps is considered a "dangerous weapon".
Yeah, it is dangerous. To rapists. They just want to be able to molest children in peace.
I wonder what will happen to the guy who disarmed one of the shooters
I know a guy stomped the suspect while he was on the ground. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets charged with assault..
Because his actions have been so universally lauded, probably nothing unless he says anything they can construe as racist.
Wouldn't doubt we hear news (likely suppressed) about him facing some sort of misdemeanor charges along with whatever the perp faces. I'll be genuinely shocked if the Australian authorities uphold him as a hero in any way.

Australia was lost to the Woke revolution years ago.
It’s literally a poster for the second amendment.
Obviously guns, duh! Ban them even more!
I'd put the /s, but there are morons who actually think that. Well, "think" is probably a bit too generous. There are morons who say that because that's their programmed response.
WE do, but the Boomers in charge are too busy getting their Depends changed to see it.

Just like all the police in Uvalde that were fired or quit in shame?
I was thinking more the policy setters. Heads of offices and such.

Video?!

No they are not incompetent, did you see the way they would arrest people during covid lockdowns.
The civilians were no better.
Totally dog-piled the wrong guy.
Which is why police secure scenes.
The telling thing here is that civilians were able to swarm faster because they were far closer than the police.
Cowards and incompetent.
Oh they're real tough in numbers against their unarmed citizens though.

They'll be screaming for "common sense gun regulations".
Shotguns about to be banned.
Yup.
Sweeping police training reform that will lose its edge after a couple years of complacency.
The latter.
Was incompetence or willful inaction?
I’ve seen this movie before.
Like in the UK they were probably afraid to do anything out of fear of being called racist
the cops probably aren't allowed to do anything until given the go ahead which apparently takes a long ass time. Had they acted on their own they probably get fired or go to jail themselves.
Australia brought this upon themselves.
The NYPD has their hands tied with a million regulations. That's why there's so much violent crime in NYC.
Wrong city, and country
Well, crocodile Dundee did spend time in New York City.
Ha, that’s literally my favorite line of the entire movie.
Next fav is the aboriginal dude who says “meh, needs garlic”.
What’s with the non-sequitur? Unless I’m missing something, NYPD was not involved in any way. And furthermore, NYC’s violent crime rate is lower than dozens of other places.
