My wife and I dealt with the same situation in our early years of our marriage. I had a job, but we were struggling to even live paycheck to paychech. I had applied for a job that would be a 25% pay increase. We even made a promise that, if I got the job, we'd donate $500 to sub for Santa in our church congregation.

I got the job, and we kept out promise. We quietly left the envelope on the table with the other donations and started to leave. Then our ecclesiastical leader rushed out to catch us. He asked if we were serious about our donation. We told him yes, and he asked us why. We told him about the promise we'd made if I got the new job.
This is a man I'd never seen cry, and he had tears running down his face. He told us that he had 2 families that had just approached him about help with Christmas, and he had to tell them that there weren't any funds left. He had been praying for some way to help these 2 families and was running out of time. He told us that we were the answer to his prayers, and now, 2 families would have a merry Christmas.

Do something special for someone else. You have been blest. Bless someone else!

  • This is wonderful news!
