For the record, the usa has not outlawed child marraige and currently has no federal minimum age for marraige. And some states like to play how low can you go.

Yeah marriage is the big loophole in US consent laws. Groomers use it to avoid prosecution, usually with the help of the church and triggered by pregnancy. And always with the help f the parents since their consent is required. Once married the abuser is free to rape the victim as much as they want. And since they are a minor, they can't even engage a lawyer and get a divorce.
