So i dont even know how to start this story is kinda Long So all started when one of my favorite bands from my town was playing live so i wanted to see them live, i asked some friends if the wanted to come but they where all busy so i had to go alone, my dad left me there in the show and he decided to wait outside of the venue(really important to the story) so i was there enjoying the show having fun then my dad shows me a picture of him with the band members and i was like damn thats crazy and what it happend was that he was at the convenience store when the band asked him if their car was blocking the way, to make it short the band told him that they were in band my dad asked wich one and when they told him the name of the band he said thats the band my son wants to see live then they asked my name and they went to the show so with that explained when they played they wanted to make a shoutout to (my name) father for supporting them and damn i was so excited,at the end of the show everyone in the venue was shouting my name i just couldnt believe it it felt like a Dream, Remember to support your local bands
TL:DR: my dad met the band members of the band i wanted to see, they gave me and my dad a shoutout and at the end of the show everyone in the venue was shouting my name
That’s awesome
Hug your dad

Rad dad!
I got front row at a Blink182 show where my daughter had ditched me. It was awesome to send her the pics, since I had zero interest in seeing them. 🫠
This is awesome!! How did she react to your photos?
she was really disappointed. I said, "maybe dont ditch dad next time!"
smart kid... she hasn't. It's worked out a couple of times. We got in to see Foo Fighters at the Black Cat. :-)
Aww that turned out to have a great lesson! "And that's why you always leave a note".
I (22f at the time) took a friend of mine (shy 22m) to a “dance” club where we met some of the crew for Bush (the irony is JUST NOW hitting me 😆). They put us on the will call list for tix & back stage passes for the next night’s show. That was pretty cool.
I love this so much! Awesome dad you have!!!
So cool! I camped out all day to see U2 at a big stadium one time. My mom kept me company until my friend arrived. As she was leaving, which required walking around a bit of the stadium, she saw a crowd and walked over out of curiosity. She got to touch Bono and took a photo of him. She told me after. And I thought she saw him off in the distance. Then she shows me the photo, pre iPhone when phones had crappy cameras and no zoom, you could tell she was like 5 feet away from him.
I met The Edge about 10 years ago. Nice guy, shook his hand and walked away saying “his hands are as soft as a baby’s” 🤣
Name of the band?
Ttemplos
That's awesome. I got to meet the drummer of my favorite band randomly before they played that night. She was in the record store thats at the venue. I'm glad my friend wanted to go early so he could browse the record store.
Such a cool memory for you, that’s awesome!
Very cool! Glad dad was comfortable letting you attend solo!
I operate a business to buddy up with people who need someone to go IN with them. Sounds like you had a great experience!
Back in 1989 the band Chicago was playing at my college. I was a band geek - in the marching band - and loved their albums Chicago 17 and 18 that were released when I was in high school and college. The tour was in support of their new album 19. I camped out overnight in the student union for tickets with some other students.
Met a girl who lived off campus that was pretty cool. We talked a lot and I think we played cards, most likely UNO, to stay awake. Saw her a couple of days after the show and asked her how she liked it. She said she loved it and told me she had met a few of the band members. I asked her if she got to go backstage and she said, no, that she met them at a gas station and they fixed her car. Wait, what?!?!
Now Chicago had been around pretty much my whole life - first album was released when I was 2 - so the band members were all middle aged or older. Most likely the majority of their younger fans only knew the lead singer Peter Cetera. So this girl had stopped at a gas station to get gas on the way to campus the morning of the show. After she filled up, her car wouldn’t start. She popped the hood and just stood there looking at the engine having no clue how to begin to even figure out what was wrong. And three gentlemen asked her if they could help.
They chatted a little bit as they got the car started for her. She was so relieved, thanked them, and she said she had to get to campus for a test. One of them asked if she was going to the Chicago concert there that night and she excitedly said “YES! I love their music! I camped out for tickets and will be right down front.” So he said something like, “GREAT! I’m sure we will see you there.” She looked at him a little confused wondering how and why these nice “old” men would find her in a crowd. Then he said, “Guys, I don’t think she knows who we are.” and they all laughed. She was embarrassed and apologized when he told her they were members of the band and he said it happens all the time. LOL!
You're so lucky to have an awesome dad!
