i want to get a guns n’ roses early entry vip package cause it’s the only where there are still tickets left for GA. problem is, it says if you’re under 16, you need a guardian or someone over 18 with you. i’m turning 15 soon. do they actually check your id or would i be able to get away with it?
Venues absolutely check ID
I mean only if you want a drink stamp/wristband. If I’m not getting a drink they just wave you past the ID check.
Totally depends on the venue though. If it’s explicitly 18+/21+ or a bar/club they 100% will check everyone.
If it's just "someone over 18" you could possibly get a random person in line to go with you?
i honestly don’t know if people there are that nice to do that for a stranger
If you told me in line that you were 15 and needed an adult to help get you in, i am now your uncle.
Just make sure to call him Bob cause everyone knows Bob's your uncle (except your 15 so that particular saying might not be relevant to you but uncle Bob knows for sure).
For real, I'd let the kid in and then probably ditch them.
If they told you they're 15, how do you know they're not 12? I'd never help an unsupervised child into a venue.
i feel like you’d be able to differentiate a 12 year old from a 15 year old. i know i looked completely different when i was 12
Men can't tell an 16 year old from a 25 year old.
suppose that’s not too far off from the truth
There's a bigger physical difference between a 12 and a 16 year old than a 16 and a 25 yr old.
I'm exactly the same size I was at 12. I'm 46 now. Yeah I've aged and my breaststroke got larger, but otherwise I'm about the same build.
I've often been mistaken for a school kid, as I carry a backpack to work. I've had yo explain I was a 40 year old woman to an attendance officer demanding my school ID refusing to look at my actual ID I had produced, as I was apparently eating at a known 'skip spot" while being tiny.
Just ask someone in line. You’d be surprised how many are willing to be family to get you in - I’ve been the aunt so many times 😊
It depends on the venue and/or the security working, but in my experience, most venues do check your ID if there is any sort of age restriction. Otherwise, if something happens to you when they allowed you entry by yourself at only 14/15, they're liable.
Venues do their jobs yes LOL
Sixteen year Olds don't generally have an ID unless they have a lic nse already. Tell them you're sixteen and don't have a license yet.
Or as others said, make friends in line. I'd say you were with me if I were in line.
i got id’ed a lot as a teen at metal shows. it’s just so the venues can protect themselves. they def check. i actually had someone ask to see my id mid concert once😭 like bro i got in here didn’t i
Yes. They have always checked IDs when I take my kids
In my experience concerts that say they will check ID will. I went to an over 18 concert and they very specifically looked at each ID with a flashlight.
Assuming this is a VIP package in the US, only the VIP package amenities are age restricted. They sometimes check Id sometimes they don’t. But either way your ticket would still be accepted.
Most venues do indeed check IDs. If there's an age restriction and they don't enforce it, they can get in serious legal trouble.
Most venues do check ID you may get lucky and have someone “adopt” you but if they check every persons id that could be an issue I know I’ve been to some over 18 shows and they’ve even had a whole scanner out to scan IDs
is it ever that deep to full on scan IDs and everything…
Really depends on the venue and how “advanced” or “modern” they are I see typically the newer venues have the scanners but most venues just have security looking at the date on your ID I really wouldn’t worry
In the Netherlands no venue does this as far as im aware
