I've seen this episode so many times but I discovered something new when Colombo goes over to See Carsini's secretary Karen at her house he knocks on the door and she is watching an Allen lad Western… ( this gun for higher ) If you notice on the table where she's sitting there's a bottle of obviously cheap wine because it has a screw top on it… Probably a bottle of mouthwash from the Marino Brothers… You would think that Carsini would at least let her have some wine at wholesale… She's obviously not a connoisseur at all.
Good catch! I'll have to look for that the next time it's on. It's kind of like in Make Me a Perfect Murder when Kay sees the security guard (Mike Lally) peaking at a centerfold. I just assume it's an issue of Bachelor's World.

Karen says “what body” when she takes a sip at the dinner so she might know something about wine but I agree she should have Carsini wine in her house. I noticed this too and always thought it was a little odd but chalked it up to she likes a cheap wine.
Maybe it was Ripple or Thunderbird.
Well, if that cheapskate Carsini would pay her more than $700 a month with only two weeks paid vacation, Karen might be able to afford more than Boone's Farm Apple. Maybe she's the one who ends up inheriting the vinyard since neither brother had any immediate family.

Actually inflation adjusted that's about 50 to 60000......and then it certainly included health care . And that's why the gasps at 500 fot Ric and the Wine bottle
