Week 7
I've been doing a series like this over on /r/CFB for 6 years now, started for College Basketball last year. The post attempts to visualize consistency between voters in the AP Poll in a single image. Additionally it sorts each AP voter by similarity to the group. Notably, this is not a measure of how "good" a voter is, just how consistent they are with the group. Especially preseason, having a diversity of opinions and ranking styles is advantageous to having a true consensus poll. Polls tend to coalesce towards each other as the season goes on.
Wayne Epps was the most consistent voter this week. Top 4 of Clayton Collier, Wayne Epps, Sheldon Mickles, and Chad Leistikow are unchanged, with Matt Murschel moving into 5th.
Jon Wilner was the biggest outlier again this week. Top 5 of Jesse Newell, Jon Wilner, Dave Preston, Luke DeCock, and Dave Borges are unchanged, with Donald Hunt now tied for 5th.
The duke guy, didn’t rank duke. Respect.
Wilner very well might have the worst ballot I have ever seen
Yeah for some reason he seems to think Duke and MSU teams from other years are allowed to compete with this years teams from other schools.
Wilner with MSU at 14 and UM at 17...
Sounds completely legit.
his ballot tweet got ratio'd into oblivion (thanks in large part to s. bell), and deservedly so
Also VT ahead of Michigan?
We didn’t ask for that lmao
And MSU over Illinois???
He's making a statement. What that actually is... who knows?
Oh Jesse, we will never understand your logic
At first glance I see him for some reason having Colorado at 18 and Florida at 17
He doesn’t have logic nor does he even watch basketball. Dude just takes the ken Pom top 25 and submits it.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say he probably watches twice as much CBB as most people here. He’s very smart and knows his stuff.
He absolutely has the most robotic polling strategy out there, but his game breakdowns are some of the best hands-down. Lots of great film analysis, zeroing in on fine details, etc. A real Xs and Os guy.
5 voters had us ranked top 5
I know who my 5 favorite voters are.
Somebody didn't drop northwestern a single spot for getting btfo twice in a week. I get that it was a tough schedule but you have to at least compete.
Seth Davis eats for free in Piscataway
Seth Davis for President!
Somebody get this man a Fat Bitch!
(For non Rutgers flairs: that’s a sandwich)
Kansas' voter is big mad
He still doesn’t have Mizzou in his top 25 either lol.
I wanna know what Dave Preston is smoking. Did he watch our game against Towson and no one else, and then decided, he that's a top-10 team?
Because that feels like the last time we looked like we deserved the preseason ranking that we got
Well screw you Scott Wolf
Love these posts!
Thank you!
David Cloninger is fucking high to rank Iowa #13
WHAT THE HECK DID WE DO TO SETH DAVIS TO GET HIM TO HATE US SO MUCH?
Yes, I get we lost this week, but he never had us in the top 10.
Always look forward to your post each week, thanks for the hard work!
Imagine not ranking Illinois
Scott Wolf why did you have to ruin it and make Baylor number 1
