Hello r/CocoaPowder! As promised, we wanted to keep you all in the loop about upcoming changes we have planned:
First, this subreddit is going to stay where it is. We initially switched to the alternate sub (r/Cocoapowderr) due to some role issues on our end. Since then, this has been resolved and all of us mods are on the same page (if you want more details on the events from our perspective, feel free to reach out). With that in mind, we see no reason to moderate two separate subreddits dedicated to the same ship so we will be slowly merging content from the alternate sub back over here.
What does this mean for this sub? We have updated the rules to make them consistent with our discord server. The main difference will be guidelines for respecting the canon pronouns of nonbinary characters in UT/DR and UTRY. In general, you should default to they/them for these characters, and include a tag or description in posts which feature AU creations with their own gender headcanons. Exceptions include Chara (can also use it suite) and UTY Clover (nonbinary but specifics of their gender is up to interpretation; again, just caption the post). This can be pretty confusing, so don't worry if it takes some adjustment (no one is getting punished for honest mistakes lol). And of course if you have any questions or need clarification we'll be happy to discuss these changes with you!
Wait isn't Clover gender left for interpitation and not specificly non-binary?
An UTY dev posted in regard to Clover that "the specifics of their gender is left to personal interpretation." Shinix interpreted this to mean that while the gender was up to interpretation, the pronouns are not (which is why Clover exclusively uses they/them in UTRY). So if you are referring to UTY Clover with your headcanon, just caption your post with [UTY] or add clarification in the comments to help differentiate it from UTRY creations and respect Shinix's intentions.

Correct; we will take a look to make sure previous posts weren't breaking the rules already on the books, but we won't punish posts that were following the rules at the time they were posted.
