I have camped 9 times and one of them was preferred. Every time I have arrived on Thursday at 4/5 am so I can be there upfront. I’m getting too old to do the driving at night, so thinking about coming in later. We will have 5 cars with us. Are we ok showing up around 11 am? Will all 5 cars be next to each other?
Are you talking about when to show up for preferred camping? If so you can show up whenever you want and you’re guaranteed to be in lot 8. Our group usually rolls up noonish on Thursday. We wait in the “camp together” waiting lot for everyone to get through security and we’re setting up within 30 min. It’s magical.
Edit: you just tell the people guiding you how many cars are together and they’ll make sure it happens that you’re all parked together. We like a rectangle set up (versus a straight line in one row)

Preferred parking is not the same as preferred camping. Make sure you actually have the right pass.

You must all arrive together. There’s a pullover area so groups can re-group and then they’ll number your windshield 1/5, 2/5 and so on. Preferred tends to fill up on Thursday but you’ll be fine & grouped together.
