Uj/ there is legit a boulder in Buena Vista CO where the holds were made by high caliber target practice.

Good thing they have a silencer on it so the shots don’t interrupt my gym jams and kids screaming

/s In case it wasn’t obvious!

    parent
    25 points Odd_Dance_9896

climbing without the silencer is aid, because the bear could hear you and come climbing behind you, which would give you extra adreanline, which is like doping thus extreme aid

Checks out, this is pretty buttoned up

I climb with an angle grinder.
New routes are too safe, so I chop every second bolt to get an erection.
What happened to ground falls? Back in my day if we didn't send we died, like men.
We wore neon tights and massive hair. We danced to Queen, glistening shirtless in the sun.
    These days everyone is gay.

Ok I love guns, guns are cool, they’re fun to shoot. But “gun guys” make me laugh so fucking hard. wtf are you doing open carrying a handgun with a micro dot and a fucking suppressor in the mountains. GOOFBALL

    13 points RichardFurr

It's your funeral when the pikas steal all your food.

    parent root
    4 points greatwhitekitten

That’s why I keep a 12 gauge sling across my back, obviously. I was talking about hand guns stupid

    parent root
    6 points Sufficient_Price_355

Whoa bro, are you trying to interfere with 2A rights? Everyone knows that if you question gun guys at all, you're automatically a gun hating lib trying to take our(god fearing climbing folk) guns away? /s

    parent root
    6 points greatwhitekitten

I’m questioning tacticool nerds, obviously I would never blink at someone carrying for protection from the pikas and marmots

/uj my friends and I got stalked by a mountain lion while out climbing in Colorado, which made us consider getting guns for climbing. Then a few months later, we accidentally woke up a hibernating bear and had to run for our lives, and that was the last time my friends and I went climbing unarmed. Bought my first gun the very next day.

/uj bear spray will be much more effective than a gun unless you can reliably put rounds through its eyes under pressure

    parent root
    11 points Gusthecat7

Bear spray is aid, if you can’t put rounds through a bear’s eye under pressure, then you shouldn’t be projecting V0 slab in the mountains.

    parent root
    2 points CurvyJohnsonMilk

Unless your down wind. Most routes are and bagged unless you pepper sprayed yourself before starting.n

Is funny you brought that up because I was stalked by a big cat here in Cali while hiking. I managed to snap a pic of one of its tracks. This was on a less populated and defunct trail in Sequoia National Forest. I saw the remnants of some deer carcass on the trail and knew it had to be a cat or a bear but they were really old and weathered down so I didn't think much of it until tracks started popping up on the way back down that weren't there on the way up.

I lived/climbed in Colorado for 16 years. I saw a mountain lion bounding terrified across Morrison road on my way to the black hole (coming down from the same direction I was going. Climbers and their kids already up there). I’ve dodged rattle snakes. I lived near a coyote refuge. Never even once carried for wildlife. Not once. The “wild life” in Colorado that makes you want to carry rhymes with “crass looters”…..
