I remember seeing this as kid and heading up 77 from Garfield to see the lights downtown over 30 years ago. That star was one of my favorite parts of the night.
Very cool shot of the Star through the steam. I'm guessing taken on Pershing?
A few fun facts for anyone interested:
The Star lives on the roof of the BOF year round.
If you think the light is brighter than it used to be, you'd be correct. The bulbs were upgraded a few years ago.
The metal frame fell apart in a few places this year and had to be repaired, causing a slight delay to it going up
I’m glad they kept that tradition up over the years. Nice job photog.

Its no microwave but it was neat seeing that on the drive in to work when I lived there.
I miss seeing that in the morning on my way to work.

Where you taking pic from? I cut down that way to work
From the angle somewhere on Independence rd or Pershing

Its even cooler when they have the flames burning off the gas alongside the star
