These bases arent so difficult to triple once you get used to their quirks, but its still so damn annoying to deal with them lol. I had 8/8 attacks against this kind of bases today and im getting sick of it…
From my experience, which tbf is a completely different town hall and difficulty, but th15 on esports is about as hard if not harder than a TH16 normal
Op probably likes the longshots character design and how it works, but doesn't like how it turned the meta for base building to just be "put the town hall inside of several layers of walls and maybe some other important buildings in there"
It’s not a hero because being attacked by it doesn’t redirect troops.
It’s just this invisible thing that whales on you from across the map and your troops may decide to go after it if they’re close by and they feel like it.
Because Archer Queen is close enough so that the BK could see and aggro'ed on her, Long Shot... is well... has long range, so troops can't really see it at all unless at closer range
Well, if the longshot can attack enemy troops/Heroes from a very long range, it's in the defender's best interest to take advantage of that.
Just think of it like the Eagle Artillery. You want to take it down as quickly as possible because it's very strong and has a very large range... But imagine if the Eagle Artillery wasn't a defense and you made it impossible to get to by putting it behind layers and layers of walls....
AND, once it locks onto your Warden or any other troop/hero, it wouldn't stop attacking it until it dies or became invisible or you used a totem spell...
It's a very toxic set up but it works because not everyone in Legends is a professional player who spends hours every day playing the game.
depends. if you're using a super yeti with 3 clones and a rage, only getting the townhall plus one or two defenses like in the screenshots here is not really worth it.
I’m at th15 so I personally have zero hands-on input but maybe they could implement some mechanic where for every layer of walls it has to shoot through/over its damage is lowered by x%
Yeah perhaps something along those lines. If people were to do these strange nested town hall bases then their long shot damage would get nuked by like 20% at that point lol. And for a normal base where it’s shooting over typical wall layouts it would only be nerfed by like like 2-4% since there’s probably only going to be a row or two of walls between itself and attacking troops
It wasnt the Guardian who brought this meta, it was the meteor golem army composition! This base is meant to stop meteor golem attacks which are the meta right now
I agree, though I think the main complaint is that it's not original. Sure, these bases are on the more difficult side, but also they remove the opportunity for creative attacking and base building
what did the average meta base look like at th17 tho? there's always gonna be an optimal way to play the game, and as the TH changes the designs will follow.
I love it, eq boots really proving their worth on the BK yet again. Triples on most attacks on these layouts in LL. Just make sure you get your funnels right and time the ability right. RTS all about adapting to the meta
At least, for now, they brought back how it was supposed to be, which is protecting the town hall from attacks. When you started coc, the tutorials always emphasizes to protect the town hall but was never the case from previous town hallsq
I’m not th18 but even pro players are fighting hard for 3stars, so it must be a real thing
Because they play esports modifier
How difficult that is?
Very hard. You can try it in friendly challenges.
Okay thanks 👍👍
As someone who plays in electro 33, its hard to triple.
I gave up trying to go to legends. I’ll give it my all if I get there but most weeks I do just enough hits to stay out of it. Modifiers are brutal fr
I mean if your flair is correct you shouldn't even be in electro at all...
I should update that lol
What was their flair before?

Not everyone is a good attacker. And some people, still don’t have good equipments. Getting into LL is hard for most COC players.
Eventually I will but rn there is no incentive
500 gems 1st time you get into new legends
From my experience, which tbf is a completely different town hall and difficulty, but th15 on esports is about as hard if not harder than a TH16 normal
should be more like a th17
Perhaps, but 17 is definitely harder with additional firespitters and multigear tower imo
No they're playing Legends. The only difference is that there's no equipment nerf.
There is no esports modifier in legends league
Logically bro not in legends league but in the tournaments they have it.
I always keep a log launcher on standby now. I save king until the path around is clear. At a minimum it’s an easy 2 star
Link to any of these bases? I wanna try attacking
r/Cocbaselayouts is full of these kind of bases
Alright thanks!
Why do you like it then? I dislike it for the same reason. It’s super long range is a wonky mechanic at best
Op probably likes the longshots character design and how it works, but doesn't like how it turned the meta for base building to just be "put the town hall inside of several layers of walls and maybe some other important buildings in there"
I like the idea, dislike the execution
I hate its mechanics.
It’s not a troop even though it walks around.
It’s not defence since things don’t attack it.
It’s not a hero because being attacked by it doesn’t redirect troops.
It’s just this invisible thing that whales on you from across the map and your troops may decide to go after it if they’re close by and they feel like it.
Also the guardian can't be poisoned, that's one of the main problems
That part really bothers me as well (and my main complaint about “not being a troop”).
Wait what? I could swear it could redirect troop if it's attacking our troops
It's only the matter of range, if it's too far away, your troops would ignore it, your troops would only go to the Long Shot if it's close enough
Maybe. But if a def archer queen is attacking your bk then he’ll smash through walls to get to her. Guess I expected that sort of mechanic.
Because Archer Queen is close enough so that the BK could see and aggro'ed on her, Long Shot... is well... has long range, so troops can't really see it at all unless at closer range
Can someone explain y this is exactly the meta ?
Longshot has great range, and the TH is no longer a defence so less troops now target it
In TH17, you would commonly see a Rocket Spear used to deal with these sorts of bases
Aww thats why my rc charge failed against the th18 today. Im th15 so didn't know
even more reasons:
longshot cannot walk out of compartment which makes it nearly impossible to be targeted
almost no troop can directly target the town hall because the walls make it impossible to pick a tile to attack the building from
Well, if the longshot can attack enemy troops/Heroes from a very long range, it's in the defender's best interest to take advantage of that.
Just think of it like the Eagle Artillery. You want to take it down as quickly as possible because it's very strong and has a very large range... But imagine if the Eagle Artillery wasn't a defense and you made it impossible to get to by putting it behind layers and layers of walls....

Ahh i see. Couldn’t a blimp w like Yeti’s be a good way to deal w these sort of bases?
Yetimites don't target the Town Hall.
But won’t just the yeti be enough regardless if the Yetimites don’t?
Skeletons? Enemy hero? CC troops? Poison tower? A bunch of things can stop the Yetis.
depends. if you're using a super yeti with 3 clones and a rage, only getting the townhall plus one or two defenses like in the screenshots here is not really worth it.
Yeah it is, I love these bases.
And it's also ugly
I'm not TH18 but I like that a game could evolve in such ways, really funny Plus now it looks like a realistic village, defend the effing castle
New meta of base building, very refreshing
I love the way COC is evolving:)
Maybe if they turn the th into a weapon, on top of the guardians, it will help with funneling and killing the longshot
Seriously, the amount of times I missed a TH18 because it’s not a defense anymore and so Dragon Riders and Ballons don’t go after it is crazy
what if I told you that they don't want to help with funneling and killing the longshot?
Coc players: make this game harder
supercell makes game harder
Coc players: game’s too hard
yeah these bases are pretty annoying next to imposible to get 3 stars consistently as a casual player
Even as a top player hence why they're so popular
Three stars should be hard for casuals. What’s the point in upgrading base if a casual could just three star consistently.
I’m at th15 so I personally have zero hands-on input but maybe they could implement some mechanic where for every layer of walls it has to shoot through/over its damage is lowered by x%
ngl this not a bad idea. maybe like 2-5%? so these bases would ruin its damage
Log launcher, king’s earthquake boots, warden other equipment
How does one even 3 star this base
This is a good thing, the game got too easy for a while.
Can someone tell me why everyone at th 18 uses all multi target infernos like that
Ngl I find it hillarious
It wasnt the Guardian who brought this meta, it was the meteor golem army composition! This base is meant to stop meteor golem attacks which are the meta right now

I don't.
Log launcher & snake bracelet king
I’m curious if people who talk like this are actually high in legends league. Care to post your top legends finish?
Nah they are just straight up lying from thier a** and self glazing. I see lot of comments behaving like this in every other posts.
Name does not check out
I need to know if these guys are actually finishing in the top 10k or are keyboard warriors sitting in dragon somewhere lol.
Looks like a job for Earthquake boots.
I brought the blimp back with a few SG.
I love it, eq boots really proving their worth on the BK yet again. Triples on most attacks on these layouts in LL. Just make sure you get your funnels right and time the ability right. RTS all about adapting to the meta
What army you using? Are you in legends?
Yes, MG and totems
Yea the meta is so boring, they need to make some changes.
At least, for now, they brought back how it was supposed to be, which is protecting the town hall from attacks. When you started coc, the tutorials always emphasizes to protect the town hall but was never the case from previous town hallsq
Log Launcher go “BURRR”
Overgrowth spell
Overgrowth only affects buildings
I use it so the troops only go to the town hall
My guy, most players use edrag or dragon spam, walls don't even matter here, it's honestly just a free TH star.
