Since we can get books of heroes from multiple sources. Upgrading which hero first using the books will be the best value?
Are you guys using these books one for each hero since every hero takes 8 days anyways Or all of them on one singular hero? And if so, which hero to upgrade first?
Cuz 3 starring consistently without warden is borderline impossible so upgrading him gives the best quality of life but his stats barely increase to be worth booking, and Upgrading other heroes can give better stat increase to make your offense stronger but u can just upgrade most of them one by one anyways.

Warden first. I can't attack without him.
I just keep my minion prince down since I don't use him often. Hammers and books shift to the other heroes next.

It depends on how which strategy you use, I use rc walk so I use them on rc then other heroes
I'm really enjoying Fireball attacks, whether its meteor golems or the catalyst army (furnace yeti rocket loons)
But even for that I feel like upgrading RC will help more with the attack than upgrading the warden.
But it's just that upgrading warden without books is pain so i will upgrade him using books first.

I personally cycle King/Queen/Prince for upgrades and upgrade one constantly while I use the other 2

For me it depends on the clan. My clan frowned on ‘no heroes’ for war so I did one at a time so I’d continue to get ore, cause let’s be real, it’s clash of equipments. Potions carried until my heroes were caught up 🤷♂️ I suppose everyone has an opinion on this. It’s definitely more efficient to just put them all down and war with no heroes- at least to the 8day mark
I don't really see how underleveled heroes would affect that though, seems like it'd be better to just do bad wars or opt out and try to level up ASAP
If your heroes are underleveled then I can almost guarantee your equipment is too. Since leveling equipment is just as important as leveling heroes, you have to find some middle ground to do both.
It’s good if you have a good clan that you can attack without heroes, but opting out of wars definitely hurts overall attack progression so I did the one at a time and just attacked with weaker heroes and potions for cwl. Level one or two heroes at a time til it takes 8days and level the rest with books.
Like I said, it’s just an opinion in the sea of opinions on the topic 🤷♂️
My equipment isn't as underleveled as my heroes, most of the equipment pieces I use are maxed or nearly maxed. I can consistently get 2 stars in war so personally it's not really an issue in war (fortunately).
Well getting 2 stars consistently is terrible imo
For the average level of my clan it's enough. We don't aim for perfect results. They're already happy when I don't forget to attack...

We get total 16-18 book of hero in 12 months. From cg and season end book of hero.
My hero upgrade strategy. Upgrade RC , queen to max using book of hero (from previous th, cg , season end) and hammers within first 2 months .(Around 2 book saved from previous townhall this time)
Minion prince normal upgrade.no book or hero.
After rc ,queen max Rest months king and warden upgrade with season end book of hero and clan games book of hero. So practically only MP down for normal upgrade. Rest always available.
Haven't started upgrading my warden yet (imo that elexir is better used for other upgrades first. Eg the guardians) but when i start upgrading him, definitely gonna use the boh on him, since he's the one hero in litterally every attack.

I’m upgrading my four main heroes (omitting minion prince) evenly, so they finish at same time, so use books on whichever is farther from max than the others. But if they’re all equal distance from max, I favor upgrading archer queen…she seems most clutch for my brainless dragon attacks.

What if I'm not using MP for offense currently. Cuz i can keep him down all the time either way. So upgrading him using books just to make my defense stronger feels not worth it to me.

I would consider dolphin as someone who buys gold pass + event pass + many good offers from shop every month and have at least 1 set of cosmetics.
Whale is someone who buys every single shop offers unless they are absolutely horrible (loot and resource potions etc) on top of what dolphins already spend. Have multiple different skin sets and sceneries, buy stuff across multiple accounts and hoard the books to max out an update within a month.
Goldfish is just Gold pass havers.

After all defences done now ive put 3 lvls on mp with builder,rc maxed with books,aq and bk next and warden last all with books since its such a small upgrade i dont wanna be down heroes at all

Rc on all my accs cuz its lowest level and easiest to upgrade. Also my every atk starts with rc charge so it helps masively then warden.

Tbh on 3 accs i rushed af for few months and keep all heros down all the time so by the time my builder base is done(using hero books on the chopper) my rc i already around 30ish lvl and then book her for 20 lvl idk lol i just got back this year to game and found rc charge so fun last time i played it was qeen charge meta

I maxed my heroes last hammer jam except the MP. Only reason I upgraded early to th 18 was so that I could use my books on the warden. He is too important for any army. I would rather use my books to have the warden up for 24 days rather than using those books on the MP.

By order of importance to my attacks:
Warden -> RC -> Bk -> AQ -> MP

Every hero except the one you don't use in your strategy. I haven't had a hero I use down in years. You get enough free hero books and gems to buy hero books every year to cover 20 hero levels before the next TH.
with gold pass, event pass, and clan games (ones including heros book), you can realistically max all heroes by June-July 2026 using books only, you get 2 books from gp and ~3 from ep every other month, plus occasional ones from cg or chests. If your heroes were already max for TH17, it's basically inevitable-no need to keep heroes down, just use books as they come
If your heroes are already TH17 max, does 5 extra levels really make a difference at TH18? The DPS and HP is minimal

AQ: has the highest level Equipments (Mirror/ Action Figure) RC: walk still broken, also works well with totem Warden: Stats not that important, only need the invincibility and heal BK: EQ Boots and Spiky Ball for Funneling not that important for me MP: No idea, never used him. Maxing only for completion on Clash Ninja

I use books on almost every hero. They only one I don't book is the one I'm not currently using. When I was doing ground smash exclusively, I would upgrade the Minion Prince the normal way. Now I'm doing air attacks, so I upgrade the King the normal way. Everyone else gets books.
My comp isn't using the King, so the King gets upgraded by hand. This leaves 5 lvls x 4 heroes = 20 levels to upgrade.
I celebrate maxing each Hero with a Hammer, 16 levels left.
Over the 12 months to TH19, we'll get 12 (silver pass) + 2 (games) = 14 Hero Books
So I bought 2 books w/ gems (got a few in chests but not many) and now I'll slow-walk the rest w/ free books.
Order of upgrade is : RC, then Warden or Prince (depending on what ressource I have when I get the book), Queen last. King gets a dedicated Builder until he's maxxed (currently 103-104 on various accounts); that builder will move on to storages then collectors.

Warden’s the obvious choice, but I’m personally using books on my RC (and then Warden) since that alone can take out a major chunk of a base.
Gonna put everybody down at once though. Just using books on my RC when possible. Then Warden, then Queen, then Prince, and finally King.

I'm willing to slow upgrade BK, AQ and MP one at a time, but not to attack when it matters without GW or RC so those are what I'm using hero books on. If I skip a tournament week, or get all my attacks done on day 1, I might try to get multiple slow hero upgrades going.

Honestly it might be viable to just use free magic items for the heroes now and not use any resource or builder beyond that. Wait for hammer jam then knock all the rem out. If we assume 2 books per months (f2p) in 11 months you can get 22 level for free bassically(remember thou its not consistant the book in clan game).
Whichever one is the highest level since they will have the longest upgrade time to skip
I usually do all my ranked attacks in the first 1-2 days of a league week, and then for the rest of the week and beginning of the next week I’m upgrading heroes that take 7-8 days, and then the next week I do all my league attacks in the LAST 1-2 days.
This way I always have my heroes up for league attacks, and I don’t really need heroes for regular farming attacks

Im just upgrading heroes with books, so I used first on Royal Champion because I got so much DE hanging around, and shes on 99% of attacks. Now im using on queen for the same reason. Probably will max warden next

As someone with all heros except barb king maxxed, i first used on warden>RC>Queen>King
if you dont use prince in your attacks you can safely slow upgrade him and in ranked attacks it will default to previous level

Warden was first then the King and then RC followed by the Queen and now I’m stuck with MP at 91 and I use him now for a Dragon rider attack

Warden or rc, I'm still using invi walk even tho is not the strongest strategy anymore but I'm th 17 so i can't use the new meta anyway.
I spent my books on rc first. And minion prince is down first and I upgrade my air attacks. Then once minion done king will go down.
I did Royal Champion then Warden, now working on Queen. All books or hammers. I did MP without any but builder apprentice.
I did RC first (slightly better DPS and HP increase over AQ), AQ just finished, and then I’m doing BK next because he gets the most DPS and HP per upgrade.
Warden is the most important hero to have up 24/7, but his stat gains really don’t make a difference at all unless you do FB. So MP (will be 85 when I stop upgrading him manually) and warden will slowly be maxed with GP and CG books.
I’ll have 20 8 day levels to do between MP BK and GW, and I’m guaranteed 2 books a month from GP and the free pass, so I’ll easily max heroes without spending additional money or having any heroes down, and only wasting a handful of books converting to gems before 19 drops. And for important attacks I can always hero pot up if I really need that last little boost. I haven’t had any problems with TH17 maxed heroes in ED32 or Champs 3.

The main 4 I use, only need 1 more for 105 king then all that’s left is minion prince but he will be after all attack buildings are updated. First week I put champion warden and queen and used as many builder potions as I could to get them maxed out before joining ranked battles.
Books + Hammer (at the end of the month): RC -> GW -> AQ -> BK
Upgrade cycle: MP (always on upgrade until maxed) -> BK -> AQ
Buy the Research Potion and the Builder Potion to speed up the upgrades
When MP is on upgrade, use ground attacks more, and air attacks work without MP as well, but with MP, overall speed + efficiency of the air attacks is better
Once MP is maxed out, try switching to using air attacks, while hybrid armies perform well with AQ or BK swapped out with MP
Attacks I have been using lately:
1. Fireball + Throwers (MP was down)
2. Fireball + Furnace + Yeti Kill squad (BK is down)
BK. If more than 1 hero is down it's not like i'll win anything outside of no modifiers, and BK speeds up farm hits nicely
AQ. My attacks start with a Queen Charge, so without the Queen I can’t do anything.
Most of the time the ones that i am upgrading...
Queen, champion, warden, prince, king. In that order.
