Then just repeat the process starting that one builder

I've maxed out the gold pass, and my Warden still costs 14m elixir to upgrade (although admittedly, I only ever upgrade heroes with books/hammers). A single troop upgrade costs anywhere between 5m and like 15m elixir. Even the collectors now cost like 4-6m for the max level, and those will easily chew through your storage with how quickly they complete. Most defenses in th16 easily cost something in the range of 8-12m gold. I'm not wasting another 5-6 months and possibly another hammer jam just to upgrade walls and see them either ignored by jumping/flying units or rolled over by root riders.
using them on level 11 walls to get level 12 is probably the highest value, then the value massively falls off afterwards the higher the wall level is, so just use them asap
With mass valks, super barbs or any other spammable army for farming and with decently upgraded heroes and equipment you can easily farm 2-3 mil cumulative elixir and gold per minute.
1 wall ring is an equivalent to 1 mil resources. Considering cost of 5 gem per ring that's 200k resources per gem. So basically every time you use wall ring as intended you "sell" your gems for resources at 200k/gem rate. With how fast you can farm resources this conversion rate is laughable.
If you had a chance to directly farm gems from attacks at a rate of 15-20 gems per minute - would you do so? If answer is yes then you should also sell wall rings.
To add to all of that you should keep in mind that there are ways to farm upto 5-6 mil per minute. There's really no ceiling here.
Sneaky goblins on dead bases. Dump and leave, don’t wait, because the roi from waiting vs finding a new base isn’t worth it. I got about a half a billion for walls doing this

If you REALLY want to use them, just know that they replace 1M of gold/elixir so only use them for upgrade that cost 1M, 2M, 3M etc, else you'll loose value (for example if you use them for a 1.5M update you'll have to use 2 rings so technically you're losing 500k in value)

What I don’t understand is what people are spending gems on that’s higher value. If you grind a lot and always have loot, sure buying books with gems saves time and is worth it. But if you’re more casual and don’t often have enough loot to use books, what do you spend your gems on? (After maxing the assistants of course.) I spend my wall rings on walls because loot is already hard enough to come by for me.

For raid medals from what I got they're the best, second best are 100 raid medal potions which sell for 10 gems
5 wall rings cost 225 and give you 25 gems
2 and a half potions (for sake of math) are 250 and still give you 25 gems
Same with war League medals as far as I'm aware but obv most people would rather spend that on hammers
