Last night while most of the clan was asleep my leader fell for the ol’ “promote me and I can do this..” trick and now the clan is gone. Sadly wasn’t there to stop her. Does supercell do anything for these types of situations? I’m assuming not due to it being done by the own players power.
Any info would be helpful if you guys wouldn’t mind.
Plenty of posts on this if you search. However I don't think I ever heard of anyone recovering their clan because, sadly, as you said this is a player-caused issue. Sorry.

They just believe whatever the scammers promise, like I’ll guarantee you level up next war, or I’ll get you 10 goof new players in two days, or whatever the pitch is. Con artists tell people what they want to hear!
I can see why some clans wouldn't give me elder when I ask to invite my alts. Although elders can't kick more than one individual out of the clan.

Unfortunately, there was a post not too long ago that a member was in their clan for MONTHS, and when they finally got promoted, they pulled this bullshit.
I myself got promoted on a server i joined less than 2 months in and im scared of moving something on the clan village everytime 😭

They tell you to switch the language to Chinese then you miss click promote to leader because you got no clue what your clicking. Gotta have below a luke warm IQ to fall for this shit
So they tell you the have a cheat to increase clan level or something and tell you it only works with a specific language. You fall for that and your gonna fall for the reat. The rest insues with him tellkng you to promote and demote them in a certain sequence. And at some point theyll get you to be at the fact that their co and tell you to pick the leader option. Although its in a dif language so u click the button sequence they tell you and it ends them on leader and then the wipe begins. Its so obvious that it makes me think. Common sense is NOT common

This is why my clan’s leader is very careful about who is promoted to co-lead. He waits and observes players to see who demonstrates clan values and alliances.

Sorry - what happened here?
Long running scam. Someone joins and convinces leader to promote them to co-lead and then convinces them to hand over leadership. Once they have leadership, they kick everyone.
The most common tactics reported are guarantees to recruit lots of high level players, claiming they were a former member or the alt account for a current player. They may also ask leader to switch language to Chinese bc they want to recruit high level Chinese players but it’s a trick to change all the menu text to Chinese and they’ll trick leader into clicking a series of buttons that gives up leadership but since text is in Chinese, leader doesn’t know what they’re doing.
Been going on for a while and gets posted to this sub over and over again but there are clan leaders out there who keep falling for it.

Being a leader is a thankless task but some responsibility has to be there.
Can't understand giving leadership role to a new member unless desiring to step away from the clan or game.
So many join and demand promotion. I just kick if their attitude sucks.

Had one of these who told me I had to many inactive people in clan and we should try the "Chinese trick". Pretty much an instant kick.
We've got 1 leader and 2 co-leaders only for that reason, rest elders. Promoting someone co has zero benefits for the clan or the co-holder, it just creates more fall pits.
And no Supercell will not help as leader gave away the title willingly.
There should be a countdown of not being able to remove anyone for 24h after getting promoted… never had this happen but it happens too much

Got promoted to Co last week after being in the current clan since April. Have experience leading a clan as I was the leader of a clan with friends I knew IRL from 2019-2023.
Quit playing after everyone left the game, then returned to the game with the clash anytime update.
Saw clan was dead and left it and joined another one through the recruitment sub

In every clan ive been ive gotten it in like 2 months, in my latest clan I didnt but I didnt want it bc my previous clan was sweaty and being a co was almost a job

For me it took me only two months after I restarted a new account only because both co-leader and leader were less active, so I had to beg for co-leader to keep the clan alive

Don’t know what kind of leader you have that promotes anyone. I’ve been in my guild for over 3 years, top 5 in donations and I’m not even an elder.

Sorry but there’s really nothing that can be done it’s not like an account that can’t be given to someone else it’s a clan that can change ownership. Depending on clan level and how much progress you had in clan capital you can either restart or move on
(If you had a max clan capital and high level clan I would just move on it will take a very long time to get back to where you were)
This is hilarious i’m seeing this post. Someone recently tried to do this in the clan i’m in. They joined and said they were one of the co leaders alternate accounts and to promote them. My leader kicked them out… But i’ve never seen this happen before I can’t imagine how sad it would’ve been.
Go to clashofstats.com, look up your lost clan and check the history. You can get the player tags of all your clanmates. Send them all invites to a new clan and start over, lesson learned.

This happened to my clan the leader invited everyone they could find and promoted every last one of them to elder and then when i brought up the fact they could kick people he didnt believe me and when war leagues were out the 3 people that werent fighting because of their personal reasons got kicked by one person so we demoted all of them to member and the guy who kicked them started arguing in the chat and left
This is unfortunate, I don’t think they do because my last clan had this happened and now it’s full of Chinese people. I am currently in a clan and they already promoted me to co-lead and it’s surprising.
Kick anyone who you don't know that asks for a promotion.

Yes, this happened to my clan as well and we recovered our clan. Account of Leader got hacker and he lost Leader position. Member of the clan posted it in this subreddit and it got a lot of upvotes and after that someone from supercell noticed the post and they contacted us. After that they removed new Leader from the clan and we have our clan lvl 26 back now! But normal support will not help you unforunatelly.

This is why i hate that you can't even send messages to other players who arent in your clan. If you guys had a forum outside of the game you guys could reach each other to make a new clan but nah there is nothing you can do to get the original clan back. Sorry.
There should defo be a ‘clan history’ tab I think, although, reversible if clan members were added as friends - that was my contingency!
