There were already multiple instances of Supercell collaborating with local police for that particular issue (pedos doing pedo shit), and that's what caused family friendly clan to be implemented, where you can safely pump up the safety filters

They really just need to make a better recruitment board. The current one doesnât work at all sometimes, youâll go days or weeks with no new joins, then eventually it fills up in one day with people that donât speak your language or go inactive immediately. It sucks for joining too because itâll show you nothing but dead clans or free co leader bs and you have to spend forever joining and leaving to find a decent one. Out of 20 new joins usually like 1 is a good permanent join, maybe 3 stay active but donât talk, the rest either immediately go inactive or leave within the next week.

See, the thing is, it is not even an exaggeration. For many of us, the fun of CoC comes from the social aspect. If I wanted a solo base builder I'd play something on PC without insane wait times and costs. What made CoC special was the constant meeting new people and having them join my clan, have a chat, donate troops and go. It was something unique I haven't enjoyed in any other game.
I legit created a whole clan franchise and an amazing community thanks to it. I even met my ex there from all things lol. It was a fun experience.
I haven't complained about it being gone for ages, but yes we are allowed to miss it and enjoy the game less because it's gone, and the arguments you give against it make no sense and come from pure hatred for some reason.
It was simply removed for $$$ reasons, because paying people to moderate and review reports is just too costly and probably not profitable for them. That's the truth and we can now move on from it

not trynna be mean but if you're struggling to recruit via discord, then either your requirements for players are too high compared to what your clan has to offer, or your clan is getting outmatched by others recruiting the same set of players.
I've been recruiting consistently for 5 years via discord and its always been really easy for me to get an average of 8/9 new players every month with a combination of actively dm'ing people and posting our clan ad
Thatâs the problem, it shouldnât require that much effort because not every clan is capable of putting in that much time. And not every clan is high end competitive, there are plenty that just play casually.
There is no recruitment for the casual player, anyone thatâs been on the discord knows that within a minute of scrolling. Or anyone looking to recruit, because posting even once a day on the discord youâre going to be drowned out by hundreds of other posts within seconds.
The game already has an excess of clans compared to players. It's good that there isn't any coddling of casual clans.
Also, even as a casual recruiter, you can easily fill up your clan through discord by dm'ing people that are lower than your perceived requirements.
Just this month, a friend of mine started up a feeder clan and managed to fill it with 50 th10s and below just by spamming dms of people who were looking for clans on discord.

As a woman that had a girlâs player name, I hated global. While there were some decent people, I agree it was often a bunch of adolescent boys that would get all excited every-time a girl entered chat. Some gave their ages, but I could usually tell they were pretty young. There was also a few rando adult pervs asking rude crap. I just quit going to it.
I built a 50 member super active clan using global chat. The âany girlsâ or âare you a girlâ and similar were 90 percent all from Bangladesh. If you confront them about trying to date someone in elementary school they think you are the weird one. In their culture itâs normal. I think if they grouped countries with similar cultures in global it would have greatly reduced the drama. As an aside my clan used to be baller status, but after years of dedication I just didnât want to invest the time into it and now itâs pretty dormant. I would like to revive the clan but without global Iâm not exactly sure how to do it without investing a crazy amount of time.

Like half of Reddit users you donât have any critical thinking skills. If a clan leader recruits in chat they would be recruiting the same people who join your clan when itâs open. Clash would have the same users. The only difference is with global you can have a conversation with them first before letting them join. At one point I had 20 females in my clan and most joined from global because I had a strict rule that if a guy harassed them they would get a permanent ban.

Global chat will never return, but if it did, they could moderate it with AI and also maintain an 18+ verification. That chat was part of the game's golden age; it was part of the social aspect of the game and attracted activity. Clans really aren't what they used to be. Unfortunately, people forgot what the game was really like and got caught up in the negativity and SC's responses.

Found something interesting yesterday though, on a newly established Clan (Sleeper Clan where Iâm the Leader, main Clan Iâm co-leader), Clan Notice was published with settings on âInvite Onlyâ - the prior scammer, âYOUâ kept spamming the clan with free Gems nonsense (it was quite prevalent 2024 too)
I reviewed settings, ensure itâs invite only, but the scammer kept harassing the Clan
Eventually opted to Depublish the Clan Notice, which cost me 10â000 Gold to publish 20-odd minutes prior⌠the scammer stopped. (Needless to say, as only active member at TH3 at that point, needed to place numerous attacks to gather 10k gold)
My deduction then, that scammer has found his way into Clan repeatedly via the Clan Notice

I understand itâs mostly a kids game but they removed certain words so much that when I was trying to talk with some guys about other stuff, it would blur it out with the *****. I think if theyâd just fine a better compromise then it couldâve worked. It was one of the reasons why I stopped playing COC. It was too boring to just sit there for hours either waiting for your troops or waiting for your builder

A good old classic "good guys have to pay the price of the bad ones". CoC literally died for me once global chat was gone. Part of the fun of the game for me was the social aspect and meeting random people. Clans limited to 50 makes them often inactive and dead.
The truth is, it was removed because paying and sustaining the moderation and report handling system wouldn't be worth it for them. It truly sucks.

It had its drawbacks and its share of deplorable characters, for sure. But it wasn't the wretched, god forsaken, paedophile-infested hell hole some of you like to paint it as when trying to justify its removal.
People's issue with the removal of global chat usually boils down to one main thing: it allowed players to easily connect with and recruit people to their clans (and likewise allowed players in need of a clan to reach out and find one easily). The ability to quickly and easily do this very basic, fundamental and important thing has never been properly/sufficiently replaced since the removal of global.
The recruitment system they introduced after taking away global chat sucked ass, and the more recent Notice Board system is arguably even worse. The current Notice Board system is extremely ineffective at recruiting and usually just leads to a flurry of players joining and leaving your clan, which floods the clan chat and is generally just a waste of time.
The fact that in 2025, 13 years after the game's release, players still have to resort to using third-party services (i.e. Discord and Reddit) to recruit clan members and/or find clans is beyond disappointing. And the only means of doing it effectively, which actually seemed to work pretty well for the time, was taken away and subsequently never replaced with anything better or even equal. We were only ever given worse alternatives that nobody likes, which compounds the disappointment.

There are literally so many ways you could bring back some form of global chat but make it much safer than it was before. Just a few ideas off the top of my head would include:
- Only allow players with a Supercell account to use it
- Only allow players with a verified phone number or enabled 2FA to use it
- Employ modern auto-moderation techniques (now LLM's are much more intelligent in 2025) to detect inappropriate messages and take action accordingly (i.e. a strike/warning system that eventually leads to a communication ban if offences are repeated
- Auto-detect and censor potentially inappropriate, offensive of harmful messages
Supercell are a company with an annual revenue of $2,000,000,000, by the way. They easily have the resources to do this, but they just don't.
Clan notice is goated, i got my clan to 50 members in like 4 days. I just had to make an alt and join to make my clan go to 3 members and then it was smooth sailing
