In my opinion the concept behind a massive tank that destroys defense has a ton of hp and can walk through walls for only 20 housing space is broken, it should have never existed.
Tbh the only annoyance I have is that the revenge tower kinda forces you to attack on its side first because id you let it build up your screwed. That said sk a lot of it for me really is that im a hydra runner. Dragons and loons not having a new lvl hurts me just a tad. Personally glad they waited on drags this time I think having dragon riders first is really nice
Yeah revenge tower is the only annoying part, my RC walk has to start from the lamest side of the base. Have to sac a lot of value, if i try to use eternal tome it still feels a bit losing.

Even with Meteor Golems, pro players are averaging 270-280 trophies from attacks from what I've heard, but honestly I don't mind the difficulty. I just want potentially an attack time increase because time fails are way too common in legends rn and more troops to be on the same level as meteor golems because everyone is building bases around them right now.
edit: also I think they should make the poison spell work on Guardians or at least make headhunters target them.
Our clan sees it all the time, the top 5 bases for us and our opponents are usually maxed out aside from the supercharges for the new buildings. But I know what you mean
It may have been th15 being stupidly hard but etitans were actually well balanced. Never needed a nerf or a buff. They were briefly popular with super archer blimps but got replaced with dragons/lalo and then with super barbarians later on.
I just hope that if they nerf meteor golems that they're still usable. Don't do what they did to the druids please its so nice to have something else to play with besides dragons and root riders
To be honest, there isn't just one comp that is viable or meta in TH18 and legends. You need to adjust or change the comp depending on the base. It's just that people don't try out new comps or just follow youtube videos is all
Well you don't see the base before you attack so that's why everyone ends up using the same general meta strategy, it's just the best on average. Maybe if Supercell implemented a way to change your army there would be more variety in attacks.

Ranked is also the only legit competitive space in the game. Army comp doesn't matter nearly as much in CWL and CW where there are no modifiers. Once you're a good attacker almost any strat can work on any base, it's not the same for ranked which is why you see a meta strategy.

iTzu definitely plays on Legend modifier. And so is a lot of players in here and his viewers. The building damage buff limits the already limited pool of viable army in the mode, as well as bs base design because Longshot can deal splash from across the base combined with damage buff of Legend mode is genius design somehow.
It's the problem with hard mode before, when okay-ish to decent attacks fall off in hard mode and OP attacks became the only viable options, it's the same story of RR last 2 THs. SBowler cannot handle the damage buff of higher TH splash, SYeti doesn't deal enough damage, SWitch Big Boy got a housing space nerf, and so on, resulted in only a very few strategies being viable, Totem spell being not that broken as it's one of the few good counters for the broken Longshot.
After the rootrider nerf, i started mass dragon spam yeti clone bomb spam, its so great i still use it, just used meteor golem once when it came for limited time during event, didn't like it and went back to dragon spam, but replaced yeti clone bomb with totem spam
I tried totem spells with dragon riders, it is great when it works out but when it doesn't its 1 star specially because th18 is not a defence and i mess up more than i work it out so mass dragon mass totem works great for me
If a troop becomes so meta that everyone is using it, then it helps everyone as much as it helps you, which creates trophy inflation in each league, making it no easier to get promoted.
This is what we had in the old legends, where players struggled to earn even a single trophy per day.
Getting a perfect league tournament needs to have a significant skill component to it, otherwise promotions become harder, not easier.
Going to legends is hard enough already. There shouldn’t be th16 and th17 in the top leage. And in lower th levels they cant be used anyway so whats the problem?
The problem is that an overpowered troop makes it just as easy for everyone to 3* as it does for you to 3*, which means that there is no meaningfully differencieation between players anymore.
That makes it harder, not easier to be promoted to legends.
Well i disagree with you because supercell gave us an option with the highest leages to make the game harder. There are statistics that show whats the average % of destruction is and its far from consistent 3 stars for casuals. As long as only ~60% of attacks are 3 stars the rate only gets worse once you climb the leagues. So yeah people who understand how the attacks work and got high level troops + equipment can definitely casually 3 stars th18 but i guess thats exactly what’s intended by SC
At this point its just common knowledge the only usable troops after th13 are ones with over 2000 hp... such a shame in my opinion. I miss mass balloon armies, lol. Too many splash damage defenses

as long as you don't understand the definition of "meta" you will keep getting surprised like this each new update. people don't run to these comps because they're the only viable ones but because they see the pros and content creators use them and want to copy them. so that will happen for as long as Clash exists and also happens for any other game you know.
It's honestly even worse than this. At least with Root Riders you had to try and did an RC walk and everything. With MG, all you do is throw them down in a line, spam your heros, place a log Launcher then spam Totem spells and you win.
After bailing to play clash Royale for a bit and now coming back home I’m never complaining about coc again. It’s a mess over on that other game.

Constantly tripled with a super yeti spam or 'smash' got bored of it tho... it also only works because the first part is RC Sui/Recall Charge

That's only in the league. You can always plan for your clan wars and CWL.

there are a lot of options for good attacks at TH18 - super bowlers, super yetis, dragon / dragon riders (atleast in normal attacks).......
the problem is that people just lookup youtube videos and copy what a famous youtube like itzu is telling them rather than trying attacks on their own
if people actually tried to run attacks their own way they'd discover that there are a lot of viable strategies that consistently three star at th18
There are other viable attacks but viable does not mean as good.
If they add new troop levels some things might catch up. But right now nothing is as good.

The new golems are buffet and wayy better than the ones in the event; that said also do try out hydra it’s very good with totem spam
