You guys have such nice roads.
Here's how the other side handles roads on Xbox so no easy mode mods like traffic, turn, lane, parking managers.
Reaching 90% flow while growing my city was the #1 goal.
Traffic flow is 91% +/- 1 depending on time of day and in game events. Once in a blue moon flow spikes to 100%.
Population about 500k
That spaghetti is when I first started. Linked my main industrial island to every other area without traffic jams. It's how I handled common complaints like using only one lane, insisting on one route, vehicles jack knifing in to lanes to avoid intersections, persistent bottlenecks.
My infrastructure is cleaner now but still function/flow above all else. It's funny how cims are able to navigate this snakes nest but can't figure out multiple lanes, side streets, alternative routes.
I utilize extensive public transit, and ensure bikers/walkers have complete access to a fault. Was too intent on keeping quays.

Haha, if it works it works.
But… it doesn’t look like it works😭
92% traffic flow looks like it doesn't work?
It doesn’t work for my eyes or probably the poor cims that have to commute through that every day
At 491,000 population, it's honestly difficult to achieve traffic flow BELOW 90%. The game caps the number of cars/pedestrains that can be simulated after a certain point, so the bigger you expand your city, the more you dilute that traffic across your road network. Above like 200,000 cims its honestly meaningless
Makin my way downtown, driving fast through a cruise ship
People pay top dollar for that unique experience.
Starin' blankly ahead, just makin' my way. Makin' a way, through the snakes nest.
Mother of God
The problem is usually, that actually works. XD
No matter how much I try, I always end making spaghetti roads to relief the traffic in certain areas, and never bother to fix em.
Make it so confusing nobody wants to drive.
If it was real life, but it works for CS cims algorithms.
Nothing more permanent than a temporary fix.
u/OriginalKingD
I use almost no stop signs, and zero traffic lights. My cims are happy even when I'm not bulldozing their property to min max zoning and streets.
I'm not sure planning really happened here
Oh, I'm sure a lot of planning went into the ragebait.
lol
I've only seen stuff like this in Satisfactory. I didn't even think about Cities Skylines.
reminds me a bit on macao area, when seen from a planes perspective
Planning?

Even that notorious highway interchange in China looks like a baby comparing to this abomination
This abomination prevents a pile up like that with 500k population worth of delivery trucks. It's not realistic but it works within the CS parameters.
How did you even managed to create all of it and understand which where goes
That island was the only way to access the industrial area for a while. I just kept adding junctions so a cities worth of delivery trucks could drive without doing breakneck lane changes. It kept the flow in/out/around that industrial island smooth as drivers could weave through the spaghetti to go exactly where they needed. And lots of off ramps. A highway with an on/off ramp every block doesn't work in real life. It does in CS.
atp id just let the traffic pile up </3
Thought this was shoelaces
H O W
More. Than. Spaghetti.
I just had a coronary by looking at it for more than 20 seconds.
ooph, I love it 😂
I always end up making angry spagetthi if my perfect zoning breaks for the gazillionth time.
Yeah, I was pretty frustrated when I resorted to this. You think you make beautiful routes and side routes, but then your cims insist on making a Jack knife lane changes to all use the same one lane out of six on the same route out of the plethora you've given them.
“Planning”
Malaysia?
Totally unrelated, you have a nice TV. No one here has complained (or perhaps even noticed) that these aren't proper screenshots.
Photo 1 is my favourite death metal band logo
i wish i could watch cims get around the map
My eyes. This is what i fear. Satan has come down upon cities skylines in console form
🤔
The "fuck it" strategy of road design

10/10 excellent bait
Hi there Josh from Let's game it out!
looks like my first play through many years ago. You'll get the hang of it!
Call it the Robert Moses Expressway
Get some help OP
I recommend r/junxions
Once it released
Lol, looks like you're raising the average traffic flow metric just due to sheer abundance of roads everywhere, used or unused. Not by actually building better flowing road designs. I guess that is one way to do it. 😂
That spaghetti is when I first started, but i prioritize function regardless. I'm not gonna go back to massively redo older stuff like the spaghetti, or massively redo entire tiles of old stuff to make new stuff pretty. This is my first and only city ever. Highly dense 500k population with lots of room to grow. Growth and traffic flow above all else. If it fits and keeps traffic moving, I'm happy.
Lots of roads, and my flow spikes to 100%. Traffic pretty much always moves at max speed. This worked with the cim algorithm to keep it moving. No bottlenecks. No cars ever having to stop beyond a split moment. Lots of access and traffic balanced around enough of the roads to keep it that way. There are always tons of options to shift and tinker to maximize flow for new routes, new neighborhoods.
Don't have to take it so seriously. Dude you posted the images of this spagetti monster yourself. It's all in good fun. :)
The stat is literally average traffic flow. The average of those super red clusters of traffic jams you see everywere in you images and the 20 green unused offramps going evey which way evens it out. :)
this game is not that hard
Why can't you handle this? What's the point of these sharp turns?

No mods can fix the layout. Also only 10% of your city is actually simulated. This is insane and disgusting spagetti for 50k commuters this game is able to simulate. Last thing you can reclaim land rom waterbodies, but please never build interchanges over the water.
It was the only way to fit, my cims are happy, traffic is good, and I'm not gonna fix something that isn't broken.
It works. Elevation, water depth, underground infrastructure, routing traffic. It fits as best It can. It works. As much as you wanna criticize, it works. Period.
I have other things id rather play and do rather than go back and redo stuff to make it pretty to your standards.
