I like to use concrete sound barrier walls as an easy way to create the illusion of perrimeter fence for secure locations. I also love the idea of dividing a city awkwardly with a freeway to demarcate a historical, if not current territorial boundary. Even if people can travel freely between both sides and there is no wall anymore, the scars of where a wall once was can still dramatically transform the urban layout.
