More stumbling blocks for millions of pain sufferers.♥️

  • Fentanyl is also used for childbirth and after surgery. I'm sure this will end well.

I wish he would fuck off.

Yup. Some very kind paramedics gave me some in the ambulance after I dislocated my hip in a completely random accident. It was very necessary.

  • I was given a Fentanyl patch after my pancreatic surgery. It was a godsend. He is an idiot.

  • Why isn’t gasoline classified as a WOMD??? Anyone who drinks it has a 100 percent chance of dying!!

Or H2O? Everyone that ingests it will die, even just a drop.

  • The announcement specifically says “illicit fentanyl”. Illicit fentanyl is laced into many illicit street drugs and has become a major cause of accidental ODs.

Let’s hope the line between illicit fentanyl and pharmaceutical Rx’d fentanyl is kept strongly in place. 🙏🦋

  • Can someone explain how this would effect legal prescriptions of it? I didn't see anything in the order about legal use, only illicit use. My brother died from a fentanyl overdose, and it ruined our family forever, so combating illegal use and distribution to the highest extent of the law seems good to me. But, again, I dont want this to be detrimental to those who legally need and use it. Can someone ELI5?

Well technically it shouldn’t but it’s the government and their track record of having common sense and things working the way they’re supposed to work isn’t very good.

Truth. But if even one family could be spared the heartbreak we did, and it doesnt hurt anyone who really needs it, then maybe it could be a good thing? I don't know, I guess I will need to do some more research to see how it effects legal prescribers. What I don't want is for it to be like percocet and vicodin and make it almost impossible for legitimate patients to get access to it. That is why my brother turned to painkillers from some company online. One day his usual stuff was laced with fentanyl and he died, alone, and leaving 2 kids behind. I hope this doesn’t compound that problem either. :(

I’m sorry for your loss. The way the order is written it should not affect medical use fentanyl. It only mentions “illicit fentanyl” which is saying fentanyl that is manufactured and sold with the intent to distribute and use illegally under our current drug laws. It’s my understanding, and I could be wrong, that medical fentanyl and “street fentanyl” are not the same thing.Medical fentanyl is manufactured in pharmaceutical labs with government and medical oversight while the street stuff is made in makeshift labs run by drug cartels. So like I said technically this should not affect medical use.
