The fact that your giving me a yes answer is making me worried because I feel like since God knows that I’m writing a book that I’m passionate about, he’s going to prevent me from getting it published as a punishment for sin.
God takes an eternal view of your life. It's not tit for tat like that. The wages of sin is death, but God forgives the repentant sinner through faith in Christ.
The Bible is completely silent about masturbation. If it was a sin, God would have told us. The Bible is very clear about what’s a sin and what isn’t. People have always masturbated. It’s not something new that wasn’t around at the time for the Bible to be able to mention it. If it was a sin we wouldn't have to jump through interpretive hoops using verses that don’t mention it to find a way to make the Bible say it’s a sin. The Bible would just say it is a sin if it’s something God didn’t want us to do.
This isn’t saying making use of pornography is acceptable. In the bible “uncovering nakedness” was seen as part of the sex act. We make reasonable allowances for medical and clinical settings, because they are not sexual in nature, but using pornography is not something Christians can do.
