It was beautiful ministry, in the strangest of all places but honestly not really. Award after award- in the past two years all centered around giving God the glory. We have a buyer possibly. This number I spit out would free us from debt. I have so much paperwork to do, I got another job- and that is beautiful too so I feel like God is calling me elsewhere. I still have so many bills to pay to for my gym. So many things to keep going while I put in the hands of someone else who continue the work. I don't mean, what do you hope will happen? What do you think are the most likely outcomes of OP's prayer?
When I've asked this in the past, people have told me that God isn't a vending machine, that one prays to be closer to him. But looking at the comments in this thread, I see several requests for intercessory prayer, with very specific requests. Presumably these results (like a disease going away) have some likelihood of happening with or without prayer: things like colds usually go away on their own, without divine intervention, and even cancer sometimes goes into remission. So does prayer affect the likelihood of these outcomes?
Or is prayer basically a way of sharing problems, a way to reach out and show another human that you care about them, with no supernatural or divine element?

Romans 8:21 may enlighten you a bit further to answer your questions about current suffering in the world! God gave the world free will, unfortunately humans have created war. Our life on earth is very very short! Before you know it, you’ll be old and leaving this world. Then you can have life eternally with God; no war, diseases and suffering! First, let’s clarify what the word pray means. “Prayer” is having a “conversation with our Father”, who is the true a living God of Israel, the Creator of the universe and all that is in it.
Second, so what we expect when we have a conversation with our Father is…
A. that He hears us
B. that He cares about us and everything we bring to Him
C. that He will do what is right in the situation according to His all knowing sovereignty.
We expect and believe A,B, and C because we have a relationship with our Father, through our Savior, and He loves us and He has a proven record with us of doing A, B, and C over and over again all to show Himself to us and others.
I have prayed for help and healing for myself and others many times. I have seen help and healing that answered yes to my prayers, sometimes far exceeding my requests. I have also seen no change.
When we pray, our prayers get answered three different ways. God answers yes, no, or not right now. God is not like a genie in a bottle granting your three wishes. He knows all that is going on in this world. So why does He allow war and suffering to linger? I don't know, and if it's still important to me when I see Him face to face, I'll ask Him. We can only speculate. Maybe it has to do with us messing things up because we have free will, and He won't interfere. Maybe there is something going on that will make whatever we're concerned about have a better outcome in the future. We don't know. We cannot look at things from God's perspective. Remember, when someone dies, it's tragic for us. But from God's perspective, He's just bringing them home. Yes, that's a simple statement that can lead to more questions, but it's just an example.

Of course, you can pray to Krishna, to the sun, Joe Pesci (as George Carlin said he did), or to the stuffed animal on top of my monitor, and get the same result. For that matter, you don't say that prayer affects the likelihood of the outcome one way or another. So again, when you pray, what are you expecting to happen?
The simplest answer, and what all this discussion boils down to, is I am expecting whatever God wants to have happen. This is the faith part of Christianity. We are not God. We have no way of knowing why He changes some things and lets others go. We can try to look at things from a heavenly perspective, as opposed to an earthly perspective, but this is difficult because we are not in Heaven yet. We don't know what we don't know. We have to accept things like they are and have faith that it will work out eventually. That outcome might be the day we die and get to Heaven. All we can do is all we can do. I know I have had times in my life when prayer changed my life. I know I can pray to other entities and have a desired outcome by coincidence, but the changes I have seen were greater than coincidence. As for expectations? Whatever God sees for whatever reason is the answer.
I'm in a transition period with my work, really trusting God with my finances and work, trying to surrender all to him every way I can. Please pray that I continue to trust his guidance and that I will have no fear of the world, only fear and reverence for the lord our God.

Please pray for the exposure of truth and justice re: my brother's very suspicious death in 2021. I believe that he was murdered by a family member (financial motive), who also involved his son (14 at the time) into the situation, having him wait 4 days to even report the death. The police are refusing to look into it, I've tried every avenue, such as police, DA, etc., who won't do anything. I don't mean, what do you hope will happen? What do you think are the most likely outcomes of OP's prayer?
When I've asked this in the past, people have told me that God isn't a vending machine, that one prays to be closer to him. But looking at the comments in this thread, I see several requests for intercessory prayer, with very specific requests. Presumably these results (like a disease going away) have some likelihood of happening with or without prayer: things like colds usually go away on their own, without divine intervention, and even cancer sometimes goes into remission. So does prayer affect the likelihood of these outcomes?
Or is prayer basically a way of sharing problems, a way to reach out and show another human that you care about them, with no supernatural or divine element?

Thanks, but the first two don't answer my question. And the third one is obviously wrong, because people pray all the time for an end to war, disease, and so on, and yet those things continue on, even (perhaps especially) in areas where people pray the most.

Romans 8:21 may enlighten you a bit further to answer your questions about current suffering in the world! God gave the world free will, unfortunately humans have created war. Our life on earth is very very short! Before you know it, you’ll be old and leaving this world. Then you can have life eternally with God; no war, diseases and suffering! Also, Jesus returns very soon and will put an end to what we have done! I wish I could answer all your questions! I pray the Holy Spirit guides you! I pray your journey to read the Bible begins soon! Your question is “ What do you expect to happen as a result of these prayers? (Question open to anyone reading this.)”
First, let’s clarify what the word pray means. “Prayer” is having a “conversation with our Father”, who is the true a living God of Israel, the Creator of the universe and all that is in it.
Second, so what we expect when we have a conversation with our Father is… A. that He hears us
B. that He cares about us and everything we bring to Him
C. that He will do what is right in the situation according to His all knowing sovereignty.
We expect and believe A,B, and C because we have a relationship with our Father, through our Savior, and He loves us and He has a proven record with us of doing A, B, and C over and over again all to show Himself to us and others.
I have prayed for help and healing for myself and others many times. I have seen help and healing that answered yes to my prayers, sometimes far exceeding my requests. I have also seen no change.
When we pray, our prayers get answered three different ways. God answers yes, no, or not right now. God is not like a genie in a bottle granting your three wishes. He knows all that is going on in this world. So why does He allow war and suffering to linger? I don't know, and if it's still important to me when I see Him face to face, I'll ask Him. We can only speculate. Maybe it has to do with us messing things up because we have free will, and He won't interfere. Maybe there is something going on that will make whatever we're concerned about have a better outcome in the future. We don't know. We cannot look at things from God's perspective. Remember, when someone dies, it's tragic for us. But from God's perspective, He's just bringing them home. Yes, that's a simple statement that can lead to more questions, but it's just an example.
Of course, you can pray to Krishna, to the sun, Joe Pesci (as George Carlin said he did), or to the stuffed animal on top of my monitor, and get the same result. For that matter, you don't say that prayer affects the likelihood of the outcome one way or another. So again, when you pray, what are you expecting to happen?
The simplest answer, and what all this discussion boils down to, is I am expecting whatever God wants to have happen. This is the faith part of Christianity. We are not God. We have no way of knowing why He changes some things and lets others go. We can try to look at things from a heavenly perspective, as opposed to an earthly perspective, but this is difficult because we are not in Heaven yet. We don't know what we don't know. We have to accept things like they are and have faith that it will work out eventually. That outcome might be the day we die and get to Heaven. All we can do is all we can do. I know I have had times in my life when prayer changed my life. I know I can pray to other entities and have a desired outcome by coincidence, but the changes I have seen were greater than coincidence. As for expectations? Whatever God sees for whatever reason is the answer.
But won't that happen whether you pray or not? So we're back to my original question: what do you expect to happen as a result of prayer?
I'm in a transition period with my work, really trusting God with my finances and work, trying to surrender all to him every way I can. Please pray that I continue to trust his guidance and that I will have no fear of the world, only fear and reverence for the lord our God.
