I was gonna say, I wear my thin T-shirt bras in the summer and during winter/fall I switch over to a stiffer bra with thicker cups for more modesty. They're not push up or sexier, they just give me more padding between my boobs and shirt
Confused a tiny bit. In terms of modesty you speak of, I'd want a lined bra in the summer as those clothes are much thinner. In the winter you can get away with less coverage since the clothing offers more coverage. We're all different, I just see it the opposite way.
I don't walk around with hard nipples. I generally only have that issue when it's cold out. I also wear tshirts in summer and winter, the only things that switch up are my bras, jackets and socks.
Covid ruined bras for me. Being home with lock down was very freeing lol I basically do sports type bras now all year around now and wear a regular bra for special occasions.
Yeah this kinda got me, my padded bra snapped so I’ve been wearing my last remaining bra, which is super thin. I work outside and it’s winter and my tits were fricken freezing this morning :(
Like clearly she’s asking for a ton, but I don’t blame a lady for wanting a padded bra in winter.
As an ample chested lady myself, lined is laughable. I need padding to make sure the nips aren't poking out onlookers eyeballs. Big tits need padding, not lining.
I had a pair that I snagged at Goodwill for $10. I wore them til they wore out. The sole came apart. I think they were a Walmart brand. So there are cheaper options. And people leave the trades all the time and no longer need steel toes.
They're not awful if you're just starting out as long as you put some gel soles in them, and the places I work tend to eat $40 Wal-Mart boots and $350 red wings at about the same speed so they're what I usually use on jobs.
A puddle of sodium hydroxide looks exactly like water and doesn't care how much you spent on those boots, it's gonna eat the soles off.
They are. And even good quality casual boots are too. I have a pair of 8 eye docs that I’ve had for years and they’re nothing special but still cost $170.
I lived 2 doors down (and was friends with for a short time) a woman who would post regularly in our local group on FB that she needed all sorts of things for herself and her grandkids. Like baseball gloves and bars, soccer gear. Clothing. People would message her and give her these things. But when she got, say, the baseball bat? She still kept accepting more from others. Then would sell them on Craigslist. She also signed up for the county Toys for Tots and the Salvation Army holiday gift tree thing, and request gift cards. While also asking for new toys in the local FB groups. And sell most of it.
And neither does her partner...and you will need to rent a truck to deliver theblarge mattresses and couches to them. They also live in a 5th floor walk-up. Everyone is highly physically disabled, so you'll need to carry it up the narrow stairs yourself.
She did qualify it as being weather-dependent. If it's icy, rainy, snowy, or foggy, you better damn sure be willing to deliver all those washed and folded items to her house at her convenience. And wait while she picks through the pile to see if it meets her lofty standards.
Who tf be asking randoms for bras? 95% of what I try on in store doesn't fit right. Even if they're "my size" - whatever that is. All my bras are different sizes but fit me perfectly.
But when you find that one bra that fits perfectly you buy every one in your size and in every color you can find. Then they quit making that brand or change it slightly and it doesn't fit the same. YES JLO I am talking about you!
Like 70% of us are wearing the wrong size and I see people squeeze into bras so small the straps and band dig in DEEP and look so uncomfortable! I started wearing wireless pullover bras during covid and I'll never go back. Plus they only come in s/m/l so my odds of it being the right size are higher lol
For the last two winters I’ve needed new clothes that’s what happens when you lose 117 pounds. I thrifted mostly but had extra cash and checked some places out Black Friday. I didn’t even think to ask for anything like this. It’s been two years since I started losing weight I budgeted and thrifted every time I went down in size.
The search for kids clothes I always understand, because they grow so much, but like… I assume she and he had coats and hoodies last winter? What happened to those coats?
There’s a woman in my BN group who IS literally replacing her whole wardrobe because she lost like 100 pounds, so last winter’s stuff is actually not usable to her anymore. But what’s this couple’s story?
I lost a lot of weight years ago and had bags of clothes that weren't worth the effort of selling on Poshmark. Someone posted in the neighborhood buy nothing group that her daughter's house burned down and she needed clothes. I messaged her asking what size, and she said "what size do you have?" lol that was a clue. I felt so bad for this woman's daughter that I threw in some nicer things I had listed on Poshmark. The mom swung by my work when i told her I'd be at lunch so my coworker did the handoff and said she was incredibly rude.
The nice pieces showed up a few days later on the neighborhood resale group page.
I texted her and she never responded so I did call her out on the FB post, but she complained and had me kicked out of the group lol. One of the items was an Anthropologie Somerset dress that cost me $120 on sale, she had it listed for $10.
Instead of asking for new stuff because she had to move, she should have waited until her old landlord put her old furniture on the curb. Problem solved.
I am just thankful I am in position I don’t have to ask strangers for handouts.
Idk, but she does it seasonally. She almost never gets responses, but hope springs eternal. I know her sizes better than my own she does it so often. 🤣
In those "buy nothing groups" I occasionally see people giving away a lot of their warderobe so this looks to me more like "if anyone needs to get rid of clothes in this size, i'll take them". It's a shitton of text but entitled people are usually not willing to pick stuff up and expect it to be delivered for free.
I don't think any of this is egregious. Assuming padded bra just means thicker for nipple coverage. Asking for practical things that some people have in excess. Not demanding new, nor brand name. Willing to pick up. No harm in asking, and good for the environment to give things a 2nd life imo
I do like the idea of someone being like “oh I have a couch and a mattress but they are completely bug infested. Are you interested?” so you put a disclaimer for no bugs.
I live in a lower income area and I see a lot of people asking for everything as well, like literally had one last week where someone said they were moving into a new place and starting over so they need everything.
I feel for many because I know there are a lot of people struggling right now, but I also feel like buy nothing is not meant to outfit a person's entire life. And also, most people are low income so who's going to have that much stuff to give you.
I will say, the bit about she come pick up as long as the weather is ok had me dead 🤣.
if i get multiple people asking on my posts i always check the post history now. i had a woman years ago who was a menace. she'd put her hand up for everything even those specified pick up only like mine then go dark for a week after which she sent me a sob story and asked me to not only deliver my items but pick up and deliver all the other items she'd put her hand up for in the neighbourhood.
had another guy expect my partner to take the bus to deliver a pick up only bookcase to him because he didn't drive. those groups can be ridiculous.
Sounds like she's going to sell anything she gets.
Those steel toe boots are gonna be coûte chère.
Either that, or else she and her husband are walking around naked.
To be fair, “padded” doesn’t necessarily mean push-up or accentuating. It may just mean “not so thin that my high beams are showing.”
I was gonna say, I wear my thin T-shirt bras in the summer and during winter/fall I switch over to a stiffer bra with thicker cups for more modesty. They're not push up or sexier, they just give me more padding between my boobs and shirt

Same! I’m never going back to structured bras!
Bras...
Free the Tatas!
The more correct term would be “lined” then
As an ample chested lady myself, lined is laughable. I need padding to make sure the nips aren't poking out onlookers eyeballs. Big tits need padding, not lining.
Steel toed boots are $$$
I had a pair that I snagged at Goodwill for $10. I wore them til they wore out. The sole came apart. I think they were a Walmart brand. So there are cheaper options. And people leave the trades all the time and no longer need steel toes.
Yeah, the Wal-Mart kind have their place.
They're not awful if you're just starting out as long as you put some gel soles in them, and the places I work tend to eat $40 Wal-Mart boots and $350 red wings at about the same speed so they're what I usually use on jobs.

AT LEAST she´ll go pick them up..lol
She says she will, I guarantee she has no gas money or car.
Shoulda put those items on the list.
That’ll be a separate post asking someone to drive her. Would be too overwhelming to include all in one
And neither does her partner...and you will need to rent a truck to deliver theblarge mattresses and couches to them. They also live in a 5th floor walk-up. Everyone is highly physically disabled, so you'll need to carry it up the narrow stairs yourself.
The joke's on them! When I get there, I'll tell them my disability is way more disabling than theirs... 🤣
Ah, I see you brought a knife to a spoon fight. Well played, sir/ma'am.
According to weather conditions.
Accordingly *
That threw me for a loop.
MAYBE (depending on the weather)...
I'll try on 10 bras that are around "my size" & I'm lucky if one fits well enough to buy
Yeah but other people are buying them. If they don’t fit she loses nothing.
But when you find that one bra that fits perfectly you buy every one in your size and in every color you can find. Then they quit making that brand or change it slightly and it doesn't fit the same. YES JLO I am talking about you!

she's probably selling that
For the last two winters I’ve needed new clothes that’s what happens when you lose 117 pounds. I thrifted mostly but had extra cash and checked some places out Black Friday. I didn’t even think to ask for anything like this. It’s been two years since I started losing weight I budgeted and thrifted every time I went down in size.
Same girl sale!!! Thrifting is a must for weight loss
The search for kids clothes I always understand, because they grow so much, but like… I assume she and he had coats and hoodies last winter? What happened to those coats?

I hoped you called her out on the sale items.
I texted her and she never responded so I did call her out on the FB post, but she complained and had me kicked out of the group lol. One of the items was an Anthropologie Somerset dress that cost me $120 on sale, she had it listed for $10.
Makes me doubt her daughter really had the fire, especially when she wasn't picky about sizes.
I definitely don't think there was a fire.
The padded bra just means a little cushion between the girls and the world cause when they get cold they perk up.
this is insane
She does it seasonally. Originally she was also requesting furnishings for a whole house, because they had to move.
Instead of asking for new stuff because she had to move, she should have waited until her old landlord put her old furniture on the curb. Problem solved.
I am just thankful I am in position I don’t have to ask strangers for handouts.
“God bless” is always a nice touch…
At least she will pick the shit up. That might be a first for me to read in this sub.
Does she really think people are going to supply her with a complete wardrobe- her partner too?? It reeks of entitlement.
Idk, but she does it seasonally. She almost never gets responses, but hope springs eternal. I know her sizes better than my own she does it so often. 🤣

Should be searching for a job.

Shucks. I have a padded bra, but it has bugs.
Frankly this is on a buy nothing group. She is not making up a story about a dying baby.
So if people have stuff to give away more power to her for helping others reduce clutter.
Girl you got 36Ds chill out
Seriously
Yeah but what do you better she is a 36 A and needs that padding?
Does she ever offer anything up? I see a lot of these types of posts on this sub and I wonder if they are at least giving back somewhat.
It does seem as though someone is either a "giver" or a "taker"...
if i get multiple people asking on my posts i always check the post history now. i had a woman years ago who was a menace. she'd put her hand up for everything even those specified pick up only like mine then go dark for a week after which she sent me a sob story and asked me to not only deliver my items but pick up and deliver all the other items she'd put her hand up for in the neighbourhood.
had another guy expect my partner to take the bus to deliver a pick up only bookcase to him because he didn't drive. those groups can be ridiculous.
In all of these buy nothing groups, pick up should be mandatory!
Is she helping out other people? Or does she have teens? Just wondering because she asked for 2 different sizes of men’s shoes
She's asking for pretty much a whole wardrobe for a man and a woman, plus, bed(s) and a sofa.
I guess, if she is starting out again from nothing? At least she's willing to do a pickup.
Does she wear a work boot that is a full size too large for her?
...Sorry..I have tennis shoes but they're not athletic.
She can stuff her bra with toilet paper like we did in Jr high..
Some people hate shopping THIS much
At least they don’t need underwear…..
