Chicken burrito with guac, 5/10
Overall portions were too large, and burrito was not covered by the foil and was loosely unfurled.
Ingredients were flavorful and proportioned well, but they were too isolated within the burrito. First few bites were only rice, beans, chicken, then the last third was only guac and rice. Mouthful ‘o guac isn’t as great as it sounds.
Highlighting the most OG Today’s Burrito I could find from our long-time contributor and former r/Chipotle moderator, u/TheGuyDoug. Enjoy!
We can’t win, first people complain because the portions are too small then they complain because they’re too big. Smh 🤦🏻♂️
Not complaining, just giving an honest assessment of that particular burrito
Over here in KC at the Shawnee location they are soooo cheap. Specifically this one girl. You’re lucky if you get 5 pieces of meat in your bowl or burrito.
same here in soma. they're stingy af.
I kind of prefer smaller portions or I’ll just overeat and feel sick.
You could just save it for another meal lol.
Right?! What is even wrong with people?
I'll gladly go on record finding out the portion sizes were shrinking was one of the MANY reasons I bolted as a employee. Its like Chipotle even now has like NOTHING that is ACTUALLY unique. And literally portion size was the ONLY thing really setting it aside from EVERY other mexican dining place.
I've been to mexico and I've tried the food. If you grind down to it Chipotle isn't even good on like cuisine level. Like putting it nicely and objectively as possible chipotle has been reduced to expensive munchies status after you have been under the influence.
And to the employees that are like nuh we're not high on the job etc. BS. When the devils lettuce as some call it got legal in MN I could SMELL it emanating/wafting from the kitchen you don't smell that IN THE OPEN unless your close to like baked XD.
You can put all that extra meat in my mouth and you won't hear a peep.
Pause
Yeah, OP got an instant downvote as soon as I saw that part about the portions. And a mouthful of guac is great!
Dear diary,
Remind me to reply
Get a bowl and roll your own burritos. Sheesh
Hah hey man, it’s just how the burrito was that day. Some are winners, some are less than perfect
Well you can avoid all of that (and get more food) by getting a bowl and learning to roll your own burritos. It's actually pretty easy. I know from 10+ years of experience in rolling my own. I used to have the same problem with burritos rolled for me. They weren't portioned per bite properly. Now I never have that problem, if I do, I only have myself to blame.
Silly us for expecting those, whose job it is to roll burritos, to roll a decent burrito.
Doh!
You try rolling soup in a tortilla
mfs be getting no rice, extra beans, sofritas, green. red guac then expect it to be all together idc if you been rolling burritos for 20 years thats falling apart
Ask them to drain it well. I've dealt with and covered all scenarios.
I’ve seen it done marvelously and I’ve seen it done worse than I’d expect from my toddler, and a lot in between.
right? and spread that glorious guac on the tortilla first, to anchor the lettuce and onion, layer some chicken, salsa and sour cream, hot sauce it and roll. or make it a soft taco.
Larger portions? Yes please.
What?
Oh
"loosely unfurled"
That's kind of my entire mood today, glad a burrito could match my energy
You can ask for them to mix up the ingredients.
Have another casualty of war?
Sounds like you want a bowl or tacos
Sometimes I do! But yesterday I wanted a burrito
u can ask the last person on the line to mix up all the ingredients in ur burrito! lil bit of everything in each bite
Who in the cilantro-laden Chipotle kitchen down-voted this bit of advice!? Great point, radicalious. Sheesh! Kids these days can’t handle feedback.
Reported…
What is the best vehicle for seeing feedback to the right, receptive audience at Chipotle?
u/TheGuyDoug
I personally recommend a Toyota Camry, or high yield savings account in this market.
u/newppinpoint, excellent use of the report in this case. Absolutely vile content from all those engaged.
Bro you sound like you are 65. Get with it.
You’re 3 years late to the punch. I’m 68 now.
Its pathetic we celebrate a full +$10 bowl of corn, rice and/or beans. You all realize that these items are so cheap every bowl should be full!
Ugh
WHAT?
Chicken
Jim Strickland is the hi
Thanks pal
Can’t afford my daily burrito from chipotle today
shut up boyo, have gordin ramsi make u a buryttoh
Will too much rice blow up trying to roll a burrito?
This is why I ask to have them mix all the ingredients before wrapping the burrito
I personally love chipotle and eat there 2-3 times a week I never get tired of it. But every time I order, I order the chips bc when the chips are seasoned, they are amazing. I order them always and about every fourth time they are mostly seasoned. Other times I only get a few chips with the lime and salt seasoning. I ordered today and not one chip has any seasoning. No lime no salt. But of course I’ll keep ordering bc Hope springs eternal! I’ve never had an issue with small portions, in fact I can rarely finish in one sitting. I always order the bowl though so that could be why. Please Chipotle, season the chips!
I have company in san Antonio tx i can sell produce whit the onion tomato and more. Do you have phon number
Hi yes! 281-330-8004
Maybe guac on the side as a dip so it’ll be easier to get a better burrito to guac ratio! Yes bite full of guac sounds horrible.
BOGO code Please
Chipotle has lost its way. Qdoba is much better!

I have no idea my friend, I've never worked there.
🤦🏾♂️
Him is you in imqu or
Oh no my lobster is too buttery
I just realized this was from 7 years ago LOL
Chipolte absolutely sucks when filling orders that require salad dressing. I am so done with ordering salad as for delivery and they arrive without salad dressing. Then I call the restaurant and they blame the delivery service ((example: Uber Eats). No, Chipolte, this is not a delivery problem, it’s an order fulfillment problem. Your salads should include dressing, just like burgers have ketchup and mustard. Get it right.
Hi there is i.ai and Jgm Ig
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN
Go there is I f d in bed with my if Jim f
how can portions be too large?
it made the burrito too big, the tortilla couldn't hold it all in and it unfurled open as I was eating it. No I don't want 2x tortillas, I just want a good sized burrito that fits in a tortilla.
I'm sorry, I just don't understand the concept. More for your money is always the best choice.
Is it really the best choice when it makes your burrito fall apart into your plate and you can no longer eat it like a burrito? If I wanted a bowl I would have gotten a bowl.
(1) Most of the excess was rice and beans
(2) You can already fit larger-than-average portions into a tortilla without it exploding
Instead of having a large burrito that stays whole, you'd prefer to get even more rice than an already over-serving, while having the burrito fall apart as you eat?
You don't understand the concept of wanting 10% less so your meal doesn't fall apart, when it's already at 130% of normal serving size?
well, I don't like rice or beans, so in this case reducing them is the answer
And indeed I wish they had, hence my original commentary 7 years ago.
LOL, I don't even know why a 7 yr old post appeared in my feed. Didn't even notice. I thought it was Today's Burrito.
I think it depend on the server who makes the burrito. Sometimes like you, I got section of different flavor with sectional ingredients, sometimes I got a perfect one where every ingredient arrange equally. How busy the restaurant is at the time of order plays a big part on this, IMO.
My last few burrito bowls have been the shallowest scoops of rice. What is that all about?
Possible your store was over portioning and the managers are cracking down on it now. Or the grill person is getting annoyed at having to make rice so often so they told the line people to serve less.
Possible both of those scenarios aren’t a paying customer’s problem =\
I never said they were...? You asked why and I gave two possible answers.
Oh, I didn’t say you said that they were!
You are paying for portions. You want the employees to give you extra food for free and get yelled at by their managers?
Extra rice doesn’t cost extra. At the time I made the comment (3 years ago), my recent experiences were the employee giving me like a half scoop of rice then filling it almost to the bowl brim when I’d ask for a bit of extra rice.
Just ask for more then
I did and they provided. All was well with the world.
So then why are you complaining? You had a problem and they fixed it.
You shouldn’t have to ask for appropriate portioning, my good sir. That’s appetite shaming.
Wow.
I’ve only been a Chipotle patron since around 1998. I have no idea what I’m talking about.
Cool story
Your mom likes when I tell it
lel
Just tell them you’ve been a chiptole patron since 1998 every time before you order. Ez portions
No we dgaf
( ͡☉ ͜ʖ ͡☉)
No you don't. Believe it or not employees know more then you. You aren't aware of rule changes or ingredient changes, you don't know how many ounces are a proper serving size for each item, you don't know how things get cleaned, you don't know the recipes. You don't know how to do our jobs, stop acting like you do.
I did your job half a dozen times over at different food chains. Same idea, different flavor. Keep going and commenting on each of my Chipotle sub comments from 3 years ago. This is fun.
Okay but you still don't know what its like to work at chipotle
Then come on down and work there again! What’s stopping you? Corporate greed? Is the office life getting boring , sitting in the same chair everyday staring at a computer screen watching the clock slowly go by as you keep growing older and your gut keep getting bigger. Bless your soul.
Your comments today are spicier than Chipotle's hot salsa
Spicier than Christmas Eve’s lasagna coming out with the help of my coffee this morning!
