Long story short the worker on the line was wiping down the station and then proceeded to make my burrito without changing her gloves. Just wondering if that rag is for line only…

  • We're not supposed to be wiping down the line with our gloves on. If you ask, "can you please wash your hands before you make my food," they can't argue or throw a bitch fit because they could get fired over that shit.

I get irritated when customers see me sweeping and ask for a lid for their bowl and get impatient because I'm washing my hands first before I touch anything. I'm not touching jack till I wash my hands.

Really? People get mad. Thank you for doing the right thing.

Bro your comment literally has no context. Who are we saying has a mental illness? The customers or the employees? You're just coming off hella random.

    Ai bot comment.

Damn I fall for them every single freaking time... Should have a brain at least and checked the comment history at the very least...

    Almost seems like a bot

  • Yes they are BUT, Even if the sanitizer is food-safe, it’s still strictly required to change gloves after wiping down a surface. Not washing hands and changing gloves afterward is a serious ServSafe violation and is strictly enforced.

strictly enforced by nobody in this case

It's required to wash hands after wiping down and cleaning a surface and change gloves.

At my Chipotle we weren't allowed to clean while wearing gloves, and couldn't touch food without gloves. This shouldn't have happened.

  • Food Safety 101 you should always change gloves when changing tasks. That’s absurd and disgusting! Speak up for yourself!

The way that would go is that person would act like you are oppressing them.

  • You're supposed to wash your hands and change gloves after touching anything that isn't related to the food, so no that's not sanitary

  • No no no no! They should never be cleaning with gloves on and CERTAINLY not wearing those gloves to prepare food 😵‍💫 The rag is sanitary alright, it soaks in QUAT sanitizer solution, antibacterial indeed but also very not safe to consume. this restaurant gets an F in food service safety

I clean with gloves on because I don’t like the feeling of the sanitizer on my hands but I make sure to wash my hands and switch the gloves every time.

I have to wear gloves or my skin blisters, peels and bleeds when I don’t because I have an allergic reaction to it BUT I always wash my hands and change gloves before doing anything else.

  • Nothing is truly sanitary in fast food places

  • I would hope the rags they use to clean the line don't come into contact with food they serve me. Likewise, I would hope my food doesn't come into contact with the line surface.

Is that too much to ask?

  • They should not be wearing gloves while whipping down the line. We use Quatrenary Ammonium in a mild concentration of about 400 ppm. Not a high enough concentration if a little gets on your food or wrapping. Not whipping down the line and leaving food debtisvthst is probably in the danger zone where bacteria is rapidly growing and will stick to your food and wrapper. It's unsightly , delivers a poor quality product. Squats are used instead of bleach because it is far safer in tiny amounts. This is standard across the entire industry. And it is developed and tested by scientists at the fda.

  • Like others said, when changing tasks, should st least change gloves. But should wash hands first then out on new gloves..

  • That’s disgusting they should not have gloves on when wiping down the line

  • Yes the rags are replaced every 30 minutes and we take a fresh rag. gloves are supposed to be changed tho

  • I wouldn’t say “sanitary”. Sanitary is actually very hard to achieve due to biofilm surrounding us everyday. It’s certainly disinfected, but as to “what level” can only be guessed.

  • Who cares, just eat your slop.

  • They use those rags to clean their shoes after coming in off the bus.

  • Please report this the next time you see it to corporate. Note the time it happened to and the best description of the employee.
