Do you think Chipotle should enforce my new closing policy idea?
Closing after 10 or 11 pm should always include at least 2 employees (for safety reasons) which means that closing solo wouldn't be allowed anymore
Even though I'm usually by myself (for a short time) after everything is done, I've always been told that it all depends on how many people I have closing with me (which includes anywhere between 2-4 people after 11 pm at my store)

This rule already exists. You’re not allowed to be solo and calling SSR will make them have you leave the building. You are never supposed to solo close and you should be emailing respectful workplace of any leader, gm, fl, Td, etc forces you to. People need to be treated like people otherwise none of this works.
Per safety policies noone is ever supposed to be in the building alone
I have never worked in any restaurant that allowed a worker to be alone. There should always be a minimum of two workers for safety. I'm very surprised chipotle allows this.
Every store that closes at 11pm has a Grill, BoH, Line person that closes along with a manager.
The other people are close prep people on line.
Usually someone leaves at 8:30pm after peak and cold/salsa side is clean, then someone at 10pm (the 2nd line person) leaves (usually a 5pm-10pm shift no break)
They usually clean all the deeps and water out of the well area and you focus on orders and any DML stuff.
Manager closes DML usually.
I wish there were 2 BoH people it takes FOREVER to do that yourself I usually leave 1am and Im 50 min from my store (Orient Point to Riverhead NY) Grill only needs one
I don’t close very often but I’m not aware of anyone closing completely by themselves. I know the closing manager is normally the last out of the building due to having to turn on the alarm and locking the doors but normally at my store most of us leave at the same time. Other than maybe the closing cashier who often gets out earlier. Normally the last to leave are the manager, grill and prep closer.
When I was closing regularly, we had people who would leave early when their closed was finished. But usually me (dish), grill, and SL were last. Even if we finished early we would help around and all 3 of us leave together to lock up. At my first store the GM enforced a policy that no one would leave early until everyone finished. So if you were early you had to help others (unless special circumstances) . Made everyone help out each other to gtfo on time lol. I liked that idea best.
As a AP I enforce that rule for my past as SL and creepy people after close
That’s already a policy. I’m assuming you stay extra to finish the manager stuff. If I were you I’ll do all my managers stuff first then start cleaning and closing up with your crew so you guys leave at the same time.
That’s not a bad idea. I’ll let chipotle know
Security policy states. There should always be 2 ppl in the restaurant. I’d suggest talking to your GM. My culture is, no one leaves when until EVERYONE is done.
