My grandpa had one made in usa, which he bought in the 80’s. He decided to use it for hammering 8 inch nails for his gazebo. That thing broke on the fifth nail. I told him that he needed something forged out of single piece steel.
Can you though? I mean I guess you said in theory so anything is possible but more than likely the this hammer wouldn’t have ahold in the top right, because it’s attached to a tube at the bottom. So there’d be no way wedge the wood in.
I would need a view from the top of the hammer head, if the original pipe goes through the hammer head it should be possible to remove it and attach a wooden handle.
I think i have the same hammer unbranded from the same origin and it's not fragile. The handle is all steel metal and very sturdy, much harder that the wooden ones. This hammer has been used like it was a crow's foot.
Durex lol. Also the brand name of the take-all-you-want condoms at the local health department.
Hope their condoms work better than their hammers!
Both for bangin', and both pretty flexible!
Wait, I've seen this brand name before at a local pharmacy
Did that involve something suddenly going floppy when it wasn't supposed to as well?
It's not supposed to go floppy all of a sudden?
Very much depends on what you're working on...
It usually happens when I'm nailing something. Is that normal?
Yes, you pull it out and all of a sudden it's floppy...
Huh. Same set of events for me, just in reverse.
Results are atypical; please consult your physician.
I don’t remember where I got it.
Eastwing. Get an Eastwing.
Estwing* (I also thought it was Eastwing for the longest time)
Edit: I "corrected" the spelling and got griefed by autocorrect lmao
No worries!
Estwing was Ling for decades. I have a steel shank Stanley roofing hammer that I love.
Came here to say the same thing. I mean, quality hammers are NOT that expensive to be out of reach for most regular people.
It's a good company. I drive past their headquarters a lot on the way home.
I’ll check it out. Something they’d have a Lowe’s?
Yes: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Estwing-16-oz-Steel-Head-Steel/1111955
For a hammer named Durex, he's looking a bit flaccid.
That's why you should've bought one that says viagra instead
Never buy a hammer with steel tubing as the handle

These are universally the worst version of a hammer to exist.
Construction wise that is so true.
You can see it's disappointed in itself. It's dropped its head in shame.
Well, if you keep hitting things with it what do you expect. 😂
In theory you can get a new wooden handle and fit it to the hammer head.

Buy a shitty hammer. Get shitty hammer results. Buy a decent one and it was last a homeowner a lifetime.
Did you tickle its neck?

Stop. Acting. Like. That. Is. A. Hammer!!!!
