• While Spiders are usually solitary creatures, Lynx Spiders are one of the few spiders that have been observed to live socially, together! Not this one, though. She’s a native Green Lynx Spider, who don’t form communities, but! They still do watch over their eggs until they hatch, which is unusual for spiders and many bugs! This one is still hanging out very near her clustered young, but they should disperse soon and find their own new homes in the garden.

  • How cool! How often did you check on the nest? Must have been so cool to see it mid hatch!

I would have loved to have caught footage of the hatching, but it happened in between two of my checks, unfortunately! Still glad I was able to get some shots of the babies all together, though!

  • Such cool photos! She’s beautiful. So happy to see she found a safe place in your garden. 🙂

  • Wonderful thanks for sharing

  • Awwww :-) Congratulations mama!
