Pozo Blue Sage (with a budworm), Bush Sunflower, Mrs. Beard Sage, Dark Star Ceanothus, Big Sur Manzanita, Boca Rosa Island Snapdragon, Bladderpod (with an ant), Baja Pitcher Sage, Calistoga Fuchsia, Betabel Monkeyflower, Skylark Ceanothus, Hummingbird Sage, Salvia Purpurea, Salvia chiapensis (Blooms the entire year and a hummingbird favorite)

I'm actually just renting, but still doing my part to help the insects, birds, bees, etc.
I am lucky we were able to rent this place and the landlord is cool with me planting stuff. There were nothing but weeds here when we moved in.
It's been fun planting over the last few years and my rent has not gone up once in that time :)
I too am renting, but after years of weed filled areas, I decided to change it without permission. One day my nature kingdom will fall, but until then I enjoy it every day

The flowers are amazing. Can you tell me where around the bay you are? The only flowers in my yard are a few California fuchsia. I can see a few buds on manzanita but that's about it. My plants are green but aren’t "pretty," and I can't figure out why.

One thing that I do with most of my natives is add Mycorrhiza to the hole when planting. I'm not sure if it helps but it does not seem to hurt.
Maybe you plants need a little more time to get "established".
What mycorrhiza / how do you add it? What form is it? Beautiful garden the hummingbirds must regularly bless you 😊

A couple of them got some water this month because we had a dry spell after the early rains. I'm almost to the point where many of the plants will be "naturalized" soon.
The lake chabot kiosk has a lot of those same plants, looking good 👍🏽
I had no idea bladderpod could grow outside of warm-dry areas!
