Tw: potential MC
Hi all
I had a FET with a day 6 6BB euploid embryo and had initial good doubling betas. Yesterday at 6w5d we had the viability ultrasound and heart rate was only 87 bpm. Embryo was measuring just 1 day behind at 6w4d. Nurse said it could go “either way” due to the low heart rate, but to remain cautiously optimistic and that I would have a follow up scan in one week.
I am almost certain this is going to end in loss based on what I’ve read and I’m spiring a bit as this was after 2 months of depot Lupron after 2 chemicals earlier this year with euploid embryos.
Has anyone been in a similar situation with a low heart beat and what was your outcome? Any advice during this wait until my next scan?

I’m sorry for the anxiety.
FHR can be hard to measure when it’s so small and the tech’s skill and the machinery both matter. So measurements are wrong at this stage, sometimes. I’m hopeful that’s the case for you…because with an actual FHR of 87 with your dates this would unfortunately be quite worrisome and mean definite impending loss. (Source)

Thank you for sharing that source. I hope the measurements were off as well, but realistically I am preparing for the worst.
Hey there - its crazy, I read this and thought I was reading my own post. A couple weeks ago my wife and I had a scan, measuring on track at 6W1d and got a read for a 89 heart rate, and got the same “cautious optimism” line. We going tomorrow to see how things are progressing.
Did you get any more info on the babies measurement? Do you feel pregnancy / have the symptoms? Results based on Reddit are all over the place in similar situations.
I am so sorry you’re going through this as well. It’s the absolute worst to be in this limbo. Yes, I’ve been going down the Reddit rabbit holes and spiraling ha. Will go read your post comments next!
I don’t have any other info from my doctor other than they were happy that I was measuring “on track” (just a day behind, 6w4d, supposed to be 6w5d), they were mostly concerned with the heart beat and wanted to see it over 100 at this stage. I have very mild pregnancy symptoms that come and go, which they assured me was normal. The didn’t measure hcg or do any bloodwork.

I really hope it goes well for you. I don’t know if this helps, but my provider wouldn’t even measure the heartbeat when I went in at 7w1d (measuring 7w0d, so also a day behind) because they said it can be quite an unreliable measurement this early on and it can give either false reassurance or unnecessary anxiety. They said they want to see good growth and to focus on that for now. So that’s what I’m trying to do and I hope it gives you some relief. Fingers crossed for us both 💙
Hey, thanks for the reply. I have read similar comments when I search Reddit for similar posts. It gives me a little hope. I think because I did IVF they measure heart beat for viability before they are allowed to “graduate” us.
My living son was 67 at 5+5. This pregnancy I was at 87 at 5+6 and currently 8 weeks now.

I don’t go again till 10 weeks. January 14. I’m a little nervous BUT I’m extremely extremely sick with another HG pregnancy so I’d really be shocked if it wasn’t progressing. I could go back weekly they said like how I did my last pregnancy but it’s a long wait in the clinic and i need my husband to stay home with the toddler and I’m so sick so moving is just too much work. But I can update you on the 14
