Kat Eyes Rescue subreddit is sus AF. They are in Pakistan and every cat is mangled and in an extreme medical situation. I've done some searching and found that there's a lot of animal cruelty in that country and people will even harm cats on purpose and then fundraise to get money. What can be done? This person should have to verify themselves and their identity and really provide proof that they are using money to help cats. Otherwise it's very possible that its fraud and using cruelty.

  • ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️Please read this & then make your decisions. I am a main moderator on r/rescuecats. I & our mod team have been part of the reformatting of our community to completely change the way donations and verification works the last few years. Our process is very thorough and we demand transparency as well as strict documentation, identification and proof. We call vets and even do video verification when necessary. That said, I will testify that I PERSONALLY did a thorough Messenger video interview with this rescue. I saw LIVE for myself the rescue it’s lovely owner and all its charming inhabitants. It’s an amazing place! The cats are many and one little cute dog. It’s colorful and immaculately clean. There are compassionate staff and cats all well cared for. I was 1000% satisfied with the quality and care given by this remote rescue. Yes, sadly there are many sick people out there (especially on YouTube or IG) that aren’t legit and do indeed harm animals for monetizing. So BEWARE! Report these people. It’s good to be diligent and cautious about rescues asking for donations yes. However please be thorough and thoughtful as to NOT harm reputations and cost lives. By not checking it can be disastrous to rescues that truly are making a difference like this one. PLEASE BELIEVE ME when I declare this rescue is solid, they are not a scam. The situation in Pakistan, like many other countries is dire. Animals are suffering. They are treated like trash. They are harmed in horrible ways and left to suffer. This is why we see so many sad graphic posts. They are showing us what it’s like there, begging for help. There’s also not very many rescues! So please help them save lives. I’m sure if you’re on Messenger you could ask for a video call too. They are lovely kind people who truly CARE! So PLEASE, 🙏🏻 believe in our verification process and their very hard work. Furthermore, If anyone has any questions or concerns feel free to DM me or the RC mods who will absolutely vouch for this amazing rescue. Thank you and have a wonderful day. 🙏🏻💞

I just want to say that I went through your process, and it is very thorough, and you all do your due diligence. I will back you up!

I was just about to comment regarding the video Call you had with them. As a mod on r/rescuecats I can also confirm and back up everything u/monkittykittyisme just stated above.

I really hope you’re right. Maybe encourage them to post more recovery videos and vet care posts so other users can be sure they’re legit and not harming the little ones.

They need to post vudeos later what has hapoened with the cats.

I need to do more than believe. I need evidence. You've only been on Reddit for 1 year. And the sub in question for 2 years. And you're the only 2 accounts associated with the sub. I want to believe you, make no mistake.

I have worked with u/monkittykittyisme on many rescue situations in the SoCal area and beyond, connected originally through r/rescuecats but now we know each other personally. The people behind the scenes at r/rescuecats (including u/cashbev1961 and u/monkittykittyisme) work tirelessly and relentlessly on networking, pulling from overcrowded shelters, setting up transport, and thoroughly vetting rescues and rescuers. They have helped take scammers down and offline.

If I had a rescue cat in my care that was dying, all of my energy and time would be focused on it, not replying to people on social media. It wouldn’t mean something nefarious or scammy was happening. It definitely isn’t evidence enough to accuse them of such and potentially hurt their donations.

U/Monkittykittyisme has been on Reddit many years. Last year her regular account was locked out somehow therefore she had to make a new account and that is why the age says 1 year. She has been a mod with me on RC prob closer to 3 years as of right now.

  • Crazy, I just got banned from there yesterday. They had posted an orange kitten over the course of a few days that looked dead to me. I asked a few times for video showing the cat was alive, and got ignored.

Next video posted, the kitten is announced as dead.

They do have a post history in r/rescuecats which is a legit sub...

But I can't help but notice they have never posted any documentation of the cats at the vet or pictures of vet estimates.

My senses are definitely tingling. I wouldn't donate to them.

That is really upsetting. That is a valid question!

    Please see my comment below💞

Definitely very skummy, a real rescue would have provided proof, disgusting and evil to use a dead kitten to fundraise.

  • I worry about this a lot. My feeling is, there are so many cats close to home who desperately need help, and I can more easily check on rescues close by to make sure my money is going to be used appropriately.

  • Ugh, I hate finding out about crap like this myself. It sucks because, feel free to correct me, their location makes it harder for them to be held to any accountability / have any justice served... I mean, at most maybe if the culprits could be identified, a viral takedown would shame them into knocking it off, but if only. I had been following another scam Noah the orange cat with cancer. Every week for months, the cat only has two days left. They finally just got a couple of their fundraisers taken down, but that isn't to say that already haven't siphoned hundreds and thousands of dollars from folks... they just started up a Christmas/new years donation channel that already garnered a couple thousand when their gofundme from 2 months ago hit 4k within 5 days .... and their giveahand that has been up since August garnered over 50k... they're always basing their location in Garden Grove, California. I actually called a phone number associated with a Zelle account they have for the scam and what's creepy is someone answered after a few rings then started to play one of the songs they always use in their videos for a few seconds then hung up.... if you got the time, document then report the eff out of it--- i meant your topic... the Youtube that has been running the whole thing with what I am talking about has been reported multiple times, but has not been taken down... People, you got to love them... :(

Please see my comment above 👆🏼 Thank you

I have seen fake rescues actually use pics they grab from this sub and make AI videos out of them... you would think these donation channels would do a better job at ensuring nobody gets scammed or duped ... especially like GoFundMe, but eh, they profit well off running their sh, I get that it isn't free to like run a website like that, but the overhead sure is well beyond compensated....

Someone suggested donating then taking them to court so a civil matter can at least turn eyes as a starting point into holding them accountable... [ talking about the Noah thing ] I was contemplating giving it a shot as silly as it sounds, this person needs to go down, they're right there in a spot in Amurrica living their best life because of the cruelty they have forced onto an innocent creature[s] .... I don't really have the means to just nonchalantly get a lawyer to do such a thing... they had been reported to the appropriate jurisdictions, and yet they are still around... i was thinking of setting it up and trying to rally some help and have it managed and moderated by those with a trusted reputable position in any sub communities relevant to cat rescuing / so that people are ensured that it's a serious and real thing to tackle this ongoing dilemma and have more certainty in the outcome that is said to be desired. Is that silly of me? >___<

Sorry for my Blabbing. Once again, ppl rly suck

That person is awful. I do believe they are pulling videos to use from the dark web, and do not actually have cats they are harming. You can find out the production company this “artist” is using and notify them. I believe you sent me a link recently, so I will take a look soon. Thanks for your diligence on it.

  • OP feel free to ask her for a video call. There is no point arguing and my time on Reddit is irrelevant. I’ve been in rescue decades. I know what’s real. Before you ruin reputations you should investigate thoroughly. I have many people that trust me and my community knows me. I have been diligent with pledges donations and vetting many rescues. Anyway you can follow up anyway you choose I’m busy and keyboard wars take up valuable time. I’ve said my peace ✌🏼

  • I can see there are mods posting in here... and it's kind of frustrating how it's being handled. Like it's pretty hard for people to do their own investigation if everyone closes ranks and says "you've gotta believe me because I'm me, and no we won't give you evidence, because we are more important than you and our time is more special." And OP did request information three times and was denied.

I just see this again and again in animal rescue, and it's honestly harmful - the community isn't your enemy, it's literally your funding source. I know it's tiring work, but getting an attitude with everyone who has genuine concern and genuine reasons to be concerned is alienating and unhelpful. I've seen multiple legit rescues shut down because they escalate drama needlessly with these kinds of blow off answers.

  • r/rescuecats is extremely thorough and I feel confident that if they're saying Kat eyes is legit, then it is. If you don't have evidence, spreading false information could cost these cats their lives too

  • I think I follow tgat page, need to unfollow immidistly, I just assumed it was verufued it is a real rescue. I don't hste nothing as much as people who abuse and harm animals to fundraise and scam people.
