Honestly it's a normal thing in Italy with loads of different types of filling but you also are paying like 3.50 for the coffee and croissant so let's bring in the Italian model for nice things
I had a argument with a Italian, cause every time in in Italy or France I go to petrol station or like road side cafe it’ll some worst then instant coffee, and food is so bad, but at least here you go to any petrol station and the food is fresh, you can get a okay coffee, which would you rather have and he had argument with himself for like a minute then said it wasn’t fair.
it’s not piping hot actually, the shite you get in garages here is.
italian coffee is served at ~82°C so as not to burn the beans, and the average espresso/cappuccino/macchiato is better than most coffees in Dublin from any of the fancy spots.
Not sure if you’re ragebaiting, but this is a genuinely terrible take
This is really a matter of taste; the lightly roasted coffee so dominant in Ireland has this acidic taste that doesn't go well with milk at all, I don't understand how people drink that thing. You might be one that doesn't like dark roast even though it mixes better with milk for macchiato or cappuccino.
Also, petrol stations are for filling cars, for filling the stomach one should go to restaurants. Don't expect good food from places that shouldn't serve food.
Lightly roasted coffee my arse. The petrol stations sell dark roasted bitter tar. Similar muck is served by chains like Starbucks and Costa. Most of the coffee that the independents serve is delicious in comparison.
You're not wrong. The only way you'll get a light roast here is if you buy your own beans. Every petrol station and high street cafe I've been to has roasts as dark as a moonless night.
What are U on about lmao we're some of the worst for apathy towards coffee quality. If you scorch all the beans to shit then you won't have to worry about the shitty farming and prep practices.
I mean I’m not rating the quality of a croissant from Lidl
Pistachio is been the second to chocolate on a croissant for years but the whole point in France when creating pistachio croissant was to use up yesterday left over rather the bin them, my local cafe does a fucking savage pistachio croissant there berries jam as well.
They've been available here for years in some bakeries. There even used to be a tiny coffee coffee shop trailer where I worked that had pistachio and almond croissants years ago.
We're continually pushed in the wrong direction by big-pistachio. Ive had enough of big-pistachio and their grip on society. Let's unite and stand up to big-pistachio
I still have happy dreams about the pistachio croissant I had in Luca Italy in the walled garden for 2.50. lip licking amazing. Love the Italian way of eating
Pistachio Croissants are unreal though. I say fuck it. Bring on our pistachio overlords. I'd literally mill anything with pistachio on it 😂 a few months ago I made french toast with pistachio spread on it..... It was unreal. Highly recommend 😋
In Italy they usually have a little blob on top to show what the contents are, and maybe some broken nuts too. This is a typical Italian cornetto (what they call croissants, and they aren't exactly the same)
In tesco they sell ‘Dubai hummus’… it’s hummus with pistachios in it. I like both of those things separately and it’s possible they might even be nice together, but I can’t see past the name so I’ll never know.
Of course. On there own they're great and have been for years, I'm talking specifically about the trend of pistachio with chocolate (Dubai) and other combos. People didn't make a lot of posts about regular pistachios, but when dubai chocolate came onto the scene I had friends raving about it and everything.
No, pistachio and chocolate is also a regular combination. You might be hearing about it more because of the Dubai craze, but they're regularly used to flavour things and as part of food stuffs in a lot of the world.
Nooo pistachio filled croissants are not part of this new Dubai chocolate craze. This has been done for a long time and is absolutely freaking delicious
Ok well Italy and France probably know how to do a decent pistachio croissant as they’re, well, Italian and French. But lads, this was a Circle K in Cork!
Honestly it's a normal thing in Italy with loads of different types of filling but you also are paying like 3.50 for the coffee and croissant so let's bring in the Italian model for nice things
Bawnjourno
Grawtsee
Ya i got a coffee and a croissant in the vatican for a fiver last summer and the same in cork city is a tennner
Yeah, but the Vatican isnt in Cork boy
Great observation
There’s plenty of them here in France too.
Had a croissant in Bologna last year, and yeah they really love their croissants in Italy
See, uh… correck-toh
But they are called Brioche or Cornetto!
What fucking head station have you been to in Italy? A lot have THE most piping hot kick ass espresso of your life.
Yeah it’s piping hot to hid the awful taste.
it’s not piping hot actually, the shite you get in garages here is.

It's hotter than the sun.
Eh, de gustibus

Idk where you are but you can buy a croissaint with no pistachio everywhere and they are the default option. Also cheaper.
There are plain croissants three boxes above these ones in the photo 😂
I may get burned to hell here but filled croissants are delicious and would be more so if they were made with less filling
The one in the photo here looks like a nice size and shape in fairness. The huge conch-shaped croissants are an absolute disaster
There was* an Italian cafe in Galway that you could add a filling to any pastry. 🤤
*The one I went to has now closed, but they have another cafe and I don’t know if they have that there too
Do you remember the name?.
Bar Italia Ciarlantini. The one that closed is on high street but the woodquay place is still open
I never knew they did that!. Used to go there for my weekly treat coffee but maybe a diversion to woodquay is needed
These have been a thing for years?
Pistachio is a regular flavour in a lot of foods and pastries in Europe and elsewhere, these pistachio croissants are not some new thing lmao
Don’t knock it til you’ve tried it
OP is an uncultured heathen. Pistachio on everything!
Save your barbs, I’m very kultured. I put the bog paper around the right way!
They’re actually really nice, I love getting them in Italy specifically for my breakfast

Pistachio croissants isn't a new thing, though? Also not like someone is forcing it on you.
I was in Rome a few months ago and I had a pistachio croissant from a little cafe, it was bloody gorgeous I have to say. Salivating thinking of it
"I've never been outside Ireland and hate change and new things"
I mean I’m not rating the quality of a croissant from Lidl
Pistachio is been the second to chocolate on a croissant for years but the whole point in France when creating pistachio croissant was to use up yesterday left over rather the bin them, my local cafe does a fucking savage pistachio croissant there berries jam as well.
Lidl's pastries are actually very nice.
Except the scones. Terrible.
Scones aren't pastries.
Probably the most normal application of pistachio I have seen in a while
You need to get out more
You're just so so wrong on this one
The whole pistachio creme thing is traditionally Italian it’s only recently Dubai hikacked it.
Yes as with coconut 🥥 I want a little Toyota van and a load of coconut products 😂
The Dubai part was putting that nasty ass kadayif strips in it.
Can never go to far with pistachio 🤤
The Pan-au-stachio
I actually had this idea months ago and was called a dreamer.
What an incredible idea, what will you come up with next? Vanilla in icecream?
Done already.
Next on my agenda is snarky reddit comments. Oh wait...
Wonderful
Pistachio mousse, a mousse-tachio
You know they still offer perfectly good croissants. You can choose.
Where do you get this? I so miss this after my recent travel to Paris
Any circle k with a deli
I weep for humanity. (Circle K at Cork airport but I imagine they’re shipping them all over the place).
Strange things are afoot at the Circle K.
A Pistachio Cannoli will change your whole life.
I don’t see any problem with this…
As someone who loves pistachio I'm not complaining 😅
Me either!
I thought this too but then I had one and they're lovely. Thats what I get for being a hater
Sure what about it
Delighted to see a nice old school Irish rant on here for a change
Thus is one of the best forms of Pistachio, very common in Italy and not part of the crappy Dubai fad.
Proper Italian pistachio cream that goes in these is miles better than the overpriced Dubai rubbish that is everywhere.
Might look like bird shit, but it is delicious
Yeah, these have been available in France and Italy for years. And they’re delicious!
They've been available here for years in some bakeries. There even used to be a tiny coffee coffee shop trailer where I worked that had pistachio and almond croissants years ago.
Where is selling these??
Looks like circle k price signs
We're continually pushed in the wrong direction by big-pistachio. Ive had enough of big-pistachio and their grip on society. Let's unite and stand up to big-pistachio
I love pistachios, it's never gone too far
Jayzuz, this must be delicious
Piss off they're delicious
No it's not, let the pistachio have its shine. Hazelnut highjacked the scene for years and still has.
Kinda have to say I would try it
Pistachio croissants are so good. The ones in the English market in Cork are unreal.
Had one last week and agree with this!!!

Highly recommend this stuff from Aldi though!
😱
Expensive?
One hot honey Dubai chocolate labubu milkshake please
Hah! My tribe.
[deleted]
American food in general is a no for me.
I dont get the powdered sugar on the "pain au chocolate" at circle K
Not far enough in my view. Bring on pistachio porridge, pistachio water etc
I would. That looks fab!
Extremely normal flavour in Italy, and very tasty
I still have happy dreams about the pistachio croissant I had in Luca Italy in the walled garden for 2.50. lip licking amazing. Love the Italian way of eating
Guys never seen a pistachio or almond filled croissant before, and think's it's a new trend.
(these ones look shite though)
I love this pistachio business.
PISTACHIO IS HAVING A MOMENT
would
Pistachio Croissants are unreal though. I say fuck it. Bring on our pistachio overlords. I'd literally mill anything with pistachio on it 😂 a few months ago I made french toast with pistachio spread on it..... It was unreal. Highly recommend 😋
You can never go too far with pistachio. You get ones filled with pistachio in Italy and they are gorgeous
Yeah they should be filled, who wants that drizzled on top!?
Both is good
Haha I don't want the drizzle because it seems too messy 😅
In Italy they usually have a little blob on top to show what the contents are, and maybe some broken nuts too. This is a typical Italian cornetto (what they call croissants, and they aren't exactly the same)

This is one with crema, a kind of custard

I’m surprised there are any pistachios left in the world, to be honest!
Plain croissants exist. I bet they’re right there beside the pistachios.
It got out of hand when we had Dubai chocolate, now they’re slapping pistachio inside it everything pastry or chocolate related
In tesco they sell ‘Dubai hummus’… it’s hummus with pistachios in it. I like both of those things separately and it’s possible they might even be nice together, but I can’t see past the name so I’ll never know.
Oh lord… that sounds ‘Interesting’ let’s say
You sound Pissedoffio
This is one of the most Irish post I've seen in a long time.
Are you scared of trying something exotic 😂
The last time I had a croissant, in Ireland (Centra) the person refused to serve me it cold? I left and went to cafe
Had one yesterday was delicious!
Boutta have pistachio pistachios
Where was this?
You should be grateful we live in an era where we have such great choice for many aspects! Plus it's optional which you choose.
If the stuff has a decent % of pistachio would be tasty but this is but sugar paste
Pistachio 🎉💚 Love it! We just need more coconut now too and I’ll be extremely happy
I've never seen these in Ireland but in a lot of African countries Cadburys do this gorgeous cashew and coconut bar. They are amazing.
https://preview.redd.it/rawftf2wjdcg1.png?width=607&format=png&auto=webp&s=aa7b9a9ca925d2bdb940e9485cc4c0605112bd7c
Mmmm thank you and in Italy they have muller fruit corner yogurt with coconut and lime. So many more coconut products there 😞
Oh they sound divine!! I'll have to seek them out next time I'm there!
I love finding new flavour combos when I'm abroad! Ireland had gotten better but we're still miles behind in terms of variety for flavours.
Pisstachio
Then they up the price by 500%
Didn't this recent craze become the fad that it is because of Dubai chocolate?
Pistachios has been very popular for a long time because they’re great 🤷
Of course. On there own they're great and have been for years, I'm talking specifically about the trend of pistachio with chocolate (Dubai) and other combos. Lad do you live under a rock? Pistachio has been popular in things like donuts and croissants for years.
Only for plebs
Nooo pistachio filled croissants are not part of this new Dubai chocolate craze. This has been done for a long time and is absolutely freaking delicious
Tiktok would convince the masses to eat dogshit if it wanted.
Ok well Italy and France probably know how to do a decent pistachio croissant as they’re, well, Italian and French. But lads, this was a Circle K in Cork!
Did the shop owner hold you at gunpoint and force you to eat it? if not chill out lad you can still buy your regular croissant 😭
When I open my own café, I promise never to sell any Shrekcumissants
It's everywhere. Make it stop
Why?
[deleted]
Maybe don't give them to your child then
We'll be right back
Just give me a ham cheese croissant <3
Pistachio sounds disgusting.
