I don't like going on about it and because it is ultimately his decisions. But I am done having babies!! An EMCS and then a planned section that was rough I don't want to be cut open again. I'll mention it again!!
In my case, the doctor said they didn't want to prescribe the pill anymore due to my age and I didn't want the coil after a bad experience. So the option was condoms or vasectomy.
My husband hesitated for a beat, then realised be was being ridiculous. I can't explain how minor it was. I drove him and waited in the car. It took literally 15 mins. Some minor discomfort afterwarda for a day or 2. That was it.
Husband got it done years ago. No serious side effects and no more babies. But I do know someone it failed for and they didn't know until she was several months gone so don't go back in the water unless you've fully checked for swimmers
Your actually told by the clinic to continue to have protected sex until you get cleared. Something like 12 weeks and you need to have ejaculated 20 times iirc, or else you run the risk that the sample you give will likely show it didn't work.
My partner had it done years ago (before I met him) he and his ex wife have two (now adult) children. She had a lot of issues during and post pregnancy so it was the safest option all round.
He had it done in the gp surgery at the time. A couple of days of discomfort (as opposed to pain) and he was fine.
He says it's the best thing he ever did and obviously when we met it was great for me too as I don't want kids and it means that I don't need to worry about contraception.
Congrats, OP. Did this after my 3 were born and it was the single best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I got it done at 26, and at 51 I can safely say my life would be very different if I had not.
Got it done 10ish years ago. All good within a few days.
It's kinda weird chatting to the nurse about what kind of dogs we have with the meat n 2 veg hanging out while the doc is working away.
Don't be like me going in the day after my Christmas party hungover/still drunk thinking it'll make it me less anxious. Bad idea as I had the fear coupled with this delicate procedure. It was grand though, pain gone within a few weeks and got the all clear after 3 months
No pain really, had mine 2 years ago, best decision ever, was back on the high stool in my local that evening, albeit sitting on a cushioned stool just to safe instead of the usual wooden one lol.
The operation isn't too bad once they give you enough local anaesthetic to the area. Good luck and have fun wanking into a cup a few days later so they can make sure your swimmers aren't getting through.
Could easily get psychosomatic symptoms knowing you have your supply cut off and thinking you're "less than" . Would all depend on the person and mindset I'm sure.
I thought about the procedure, but I never worried about anything else other than physical side effects. That’s the only thing that I would be worried about. That’s why I was wondering.
I laughed after I got mine done because it was so quick that I got back home on Dublin Bus on the same 2e 90 minute fare.
I booked a cheap vasectomy, but it turned out to be a rip-off.
Take my upvote you glorius bastard🤣🤣🤣
Im not liking this cos it has 69 likes ahead of me and should never change

All the mess, no stress
It's a relatively painless procedure by all means.. a day or two of feeling sore and back to work handy enough.
Can you ejaculate after getting it done? How does that work I don't really get it. How do your balls empty afterwards?
Basically it stops the “sperm” part mixing with whatever else comes out. There’s no difference in what comes out (from look/feel anyway).
Best of luck lad

The jogging or the vasectomy?
Fuck I haven’t jogged in years I might get one
I've heard it makes a vas deferens to your relationship.
Hope it all goes well!! My husband is on about getting one but keeps backing out
So he keeps pulling out?
The door was wide open
It's a thing of nothing. My husband was out of the clinic in 15 mins

So he always withdraws?
Sorry man, it’s all about the delivery.
Surely they're trying to stop any more deliveries...

20 times? That could take me at least two days. Am I supposed to keep squeezing into the rubber johnnies like a chump?
Yes I only heard about that recently enough. Something like 1 in 1000 odds so someone gets caught!
It is a brilliant decision. Did it 20 years ago. Don’t forget you don’t know it’s been successful until that post op semen sample is negative.
I know two ladies who found out they were pregnant cos they got confident too soon after
So many people who have twins in the run up to deciding about the ole snip too. 😱

I had it done just before Xmas. A few days of discomfort and back to normal. Best of luck with it.
Read the headline and genuinely thought you’d had a lap pool installed
Congrats, OP. Did this after my 3 were born and it was the single best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I got it done at 26, and at 51 I can safely say my life would be very different if I had not.
Huh, is it not a one and done thing? Why did ya get it twice?
Punctuation issue. Corrected. Thanks for noting. Just the one at 26. 😂
I was thinking this lad is taking no chances 😆
One ball at a time 😂
Got it done 10ish years ago. All good within a few days. It's kinda weird chatting to the nurse about what kind of dogs we have with the meat n 2 veg hanging out while the doc is working away.
i got mine done years ago but was surprised when i got home to see my kids still there.
on a more serious note make sure you're sure, the reversal is a balls, not as easy going as the vasectomy.

What price is it roughly?

Mine is still healing, but I'm happy enough. Still have to get the all clear

You're still a big shot Sir, you are just firing blanks now.
Congrats & well done OP!
Did you contact your GP about it or was it through a private clinic ? Gotta get myself nipped
Best thing I ever did, your missus will thank you too.
Don't take it lightly. Physical side is grand, but mentally, prepare yourself. No doubt its water off a ducks back for many but not all
How does it affect men mentally? I’d never considered that?
Could easily get psychosomatic symptoms knowing you have your supply cut off and thinking you're "less than" . Would all depend on the person and mindset I'm sure.
I can only speak for myself but having had it done with no children it's had the opposite effect on me and now I feel better than ever.
Getting my wife pregnant was always a massive fear of mine, which is silenced now.
Reasonable to ask why would it not be considered?
I thought about the procedure, but I never worried about anything else other than physical side effects. That’s the only thing that I would be worried about. That’s why I was wondering.
Your mind goes places. Thousands of years of evolution,it becomes part of our being,of who we are.
