We have a chat group where we send cute, funny and useful stuff, and most recently my mom just sent us someone else’s post on Instagram saying “this is you”. The first image is a puppy saying “my mom didn’t raise no dumbass”, then the second one is two puppies saying “she raised two”.
Damn. I don’t even know how to answer because it’s true.
Mom got some jokes 🤣
She has the sharpest wit I’ve ever known anyone to have, I swear. She’s also an extrovert so she’s not afraid to speak her mind. Meanwhile I’m the kind of person whose witty retorts only make themselves known hours after their usefulness.

Mine kicked in fully by the time I was 40. Keep at it, it can be satisfying, if occasionally embarrassing.
At the very least I have confidence and a whimsical vibe, so despite the lack of razor sharp wit I have my charms lol.
As soon as you get her wisdom, you'd be as savvy I've seen a similar situation, telling you from my personal experience

That reminds me of an old observation from a comedian. He did something wrong, and his mother yelled, “You little son of a b!+ch!”

That doesn’t happen with my mom, she’s too clever for that. But it doesn’t happen with my sister and I (hence my mom being dumbasses), but at least we are clever enough to point out to the one cursing that if one of us is the daughter of a bitch, then so is the other one.

honestly the fact she sent it to the group chat means she felt comfortable enough to joke like that, which is kind of wholesome in a brutal way..
best response is to lean into it. something like “at least we’re consistent” or just send another meme back. parents level up when they discover memes, and your mom clearly unlocked savage mode 😭
Oh we all definitely have a good sense of humor lol. She sent another image this morning that said “I’m not giving any Christmas gifts this year to my kids since I’m the best gift”, so I responded “that’s true, especially for the not so bright daughters you raised. You’re never getting rid of us”.
